    Thanks a bunch (Kentucky Term) for separating the voice vs. engine volume. I think I'm beginning to understand how you use the math. Bouncing between the graph and the table provided me with a much better understanding smoothing the peaks on the graph. I feel like I am really learning watching these videos. Watching you work through what I have been reading about really make it "Click" for me.

    I wish you would have shown the filtering that you talked about doing to remove anything with 0% throttle. I don't do a lot of filtering but that's where really good data comes from.

    Would LOVE if you could do something for us drag racers to use HP tuners to adjust fueling and timing into a launch from a dig and even a 2 step to avoid spin. I have done this but could use a lot of help and HOLLEY has such killer tools to do this where you can ramp timing over time, over speed or other params.

    I have been attempting to tune the VE on both my 07 and 12 Z06's for the past several years. The tuners in my area do not touch the VE. I am new to HP but have been using EFI Live. Just when I think I'm getting nowhere understanding how to adjust the VE tables using the acquired data, I stumble onto this video. I understand most if not all of what you do to log the info but get lost in smoothing or adjusting the data where very few of the cells have data that have changed. The engine noise in your vehicle is so much louder than your voice I can't pick out what you are explaining. This is the most important part of the video. Please wear a mic or try and filter out the truck sounds. I appreciate your hard work and especially the fact that you are sharing to "How To".

    Hello, been watch a lot of your videos and it had been so useful being as I am new to the tuning world, thank you for sharing your knowledge. In this video I’m using information to set up my logging. I can not for the life of me get the scanner to see any of my data stream. Scanner is connecting but not showing anything and most of the line items disappear soon as I start scanning. I didn’t know if you had any insight on what I could be missing. Have you done any tuning on Chrysler products? I notice the Hp tuner layout is quite different when working with the tune on my dodge as opposed to you GM.
    Is there anyway you can do a series on tuning a mopar with Hp tuners?

    Thanks Kyle. I enjoy your videos. It would be helpful to show us what filtering do you use. I presume you run OL, disable MAF, turn DFCO off, turn COT off, and leave PE on. When you filter the data to input into the VEE table you mentioned filter throttle pedal position above 0%. Was there any other filters applied to filter out transient fuel and/or EVAP fumes? Do you add a filter to discard change of throttle over certain time data? Would love to heat your thoughts on it.

    • @GoatRopeGarage
      @GoatRopeGarage  5 років тому +1

      Sure, just add accelerator position as a parameter and then on your graph add it to the function field and do greater than zero. So you'll have the PID number and formula that looks like this:
      [*****.***] > 0
      Then your graph will only show numbers when you're giving it gas.

      For sure, adjusting the zones is a great way to help the math line up when calculating coefficients. Disabling transit wouldn't be an issue as any modifiers are seen in the commanded.

    Make one showing how to tune the 2008-2014 dodge challenger's with the hemi. Cant find anything on youtube that shows the specifics. And when the histogram needs to match the table from the tune file is that specific x axis and y axis or seeing my challenger has a map , not a maf, would I want to have map on a axis for something like logging spark ? And when your looking at the VE table and you say theres gaps or a gap, are you referring to a large difference in percentage from one cell to the next ? Thanks man !

I got an LS3 480 with the hot camm lsa 112 and runs loud / hard to tune. Does not run smooth like your truck that is for sure. For LS3 with no boost what lsa would you recommend? G8 4000Lb.

      I do 5 as a minimum, but if you're seeing bad data cells you can always go in after the fact and bump it up in an attempt to filter out that date. At most scan rates that's not even a second of data.

    This is why I only use a 340cc meth injector. If the system ever fails... it's a lot of fuel 2000cc... you only need enough to cool everything down and give you knock suppression. outside of that you're asking for trouble. The other side of that is... I've been using the same water meth setup for 13 years and it's never failed 😆 I know the pump efficiency is down probably only 85 or 90 PSI in it supposed to be a hundred PSI pump I measured it like 2 years ago.

      spend the time getting it spot on with actual Dyno tunes, use it as a starting point but more conservative for safety, read your logs and adjust from there. plus generally the same or similar engines can be tuned basically the same way despite their application with only minor differences, like an lq4 in a truck versus an ls3 in a Corvette. so just because a shop may do hundreds of mustangs but not a single F-150 doesn't mean they can't shoot you a good F-150 tune
