Got my fingers crossed for you. The graphics package will probably be in line with what is on the blue car in your video, but Lemans stripes would be cool. However maybe with the custom paint option, you can order that. The car better be 800++ with that ZR1 being released. Great video. Getting g close....

Been thinking about the GTD despite thinking that its an absolute monster and will do great around the ring, I think Ford should of gone the whole way and made it a mid rear engine beast. Both the S550 and S650 appear to me to have plenty of room to fit an engine in the back seat.
like with the ford gt the race car came first. with the gt the race car had rules for the size of the engine, people complained that the street car didn't have a v8 but that car was a homologation car required for the race car and a v8 wouldn't fit. i'm not sure the gtd is the required homologation car for the gt3, another mustang may have filled that requirement already, but they wanted to keep it within the theme obviously. it does have a transaxle and 50/50 weight distribution.
@@blackberrythorns Don't get me wrong 50:50 is great as long as the whole car is light otherwise would of love to seen almost a 60:40 rear bias.
@@CoyoteAUS there are always limitations, a v8 with a supercharger isn't going to be light. the only way they could have made it lighter is if multimatic built a carbon fibre chassis (they did build the carbon fibre body panels) but then the cost would be significantly higher. it'll still probably be 3800-4000 lbs. but it has power, suspension and aero so...

You will definitely get one there aren’t that many sucker’s willing to pay $300k for a mustang as such more allocations than buyers
there were something like 7500 applications in north america alone for what will probably be a total of 2-3000 cars.

It is way past due for both Ford and Shelby to start telling consumers what, exactly, they are offering. 0 to 60? Quarter mile? Etc.
You chose two statistics that don't really matter a whole lot for this car. It's a track car that's designed to go around corners very quickly, not set times on a drag strip.

@@SpeedPhenom when Covid stopped production my GT 500 got stuck at Penske’s for 1-2 months for the stripe painting. Worth every dime. The sticker says one type of black but ended up Shadow Black. I think it is only one like this!

@@Motor-Heads11 it has more power than the amg black series, which is what it's trying to compete with. it has quite a lot more power than the porsche gt3 rs. you're thinking this is a typical american muscle car but that's not what it is at all, it's track car and a road legal race car.

@@timscherfner849 world class engineering/manufacturing/build quality, assembled by hand like a race car (which they also build). there's a reason they do work for aston martin, amg, porsche...
The GTD was cool at first, but now its boring compared to the new intro of the 1064 hp ZR1, and the just recently new-gen GT2-RS that will put this "cake decorated" mustang Dark-horse to shame on the track & performance.

both zr1 and gt2rs are very boring compared to a literal road version of a GT3 car
@maximborodyuk3773 In many ways it’s better than the GT3 car. More downforce, DRS, 8 speed Tremec DCT, pushrod suspension, active spool valve damping (not an option on any Porsche or Corvette, and only available on the Ferrari Purosangue and AMG One), dual ride height, and over 300 more hp.

@@The-fs5wn I know that. Downforce numbers would be less though, but DRS would benefit it on a straights. Weight would be more, but more power as well.
I suppose it COULD be on the pace of an actual GT3 car on some tracks, but it's a speculation at this point.
