    Great vid!! So can you do a follow up on the #20 Silica Sand as compared to the zeolite filter sand you had in there first and how the two compares?

    I noticed that the rubber gasket from your backwash opening was missing which means you lost one of the other gaskets before and use that one to replace it, I did the same. That also explains why you were so adamant about not losing those gasket LOL

    Great video I’ve had three ag pools .. and two sand pumps .. switching back from the Clorox brand your referring to to the regular pump calls for as well … third pool is the coleman brand ( which is made by best way but all fittings fit intex or vice versa)

    You needed to rinse the zeolite sand before adding it to your filter.
    Had you rinsed it in big bucket till the water runs clear, then add it into the filter you'd not have the issue. Zeolite will cloud your pool. They say backwash after adding zeolite to clean it, but you can skip that step if you pre-rinse it.

  • @jen8197

    So when you first get it and add the sand you have to do a rinse and backwash ?

    • @axelruntschke
      @axelruntschke  4 роки тому +2

      Yup! Just to settle everything in its place and wash out the very tiny particles you don't needs. 45 seconds of backwash, 45 seconds of rinse and you're good to go.

    Quick question... when you are done pooring the second half of the sand in the filter is that taking you to the max line shown inside the filter? Looks like you were filled almost to the top.

    • @axelruntschke

    I have same sand filter. 2nd yr. but this year,sand is getting into my 6 way valve assembly, it is stuck in filter mode. took it apart, cleaned it, replaced with new sand, and now it's stuck again. I can't turn it. any suggestions why sand is collecting under the valve? filter worked perfect last summer. thanks for any info.
