Some things he did may appear to be a bit androgenous, but he was one of the few who could cross that bridge and while it may first make you go, huh...in the end, prince made it all fashionable at worst, and normal at best.

I was on the set of Purple Rain when they were filming Appolonia getting out of a taxi and running across the street. I felt someone walk up next to me then he said "How many times has she done this?" When I looked over it was Prince. I said 4 or 5 times that I've seen. He put his hand on my shoulder and chuckled a little bit and said "And in those heels, God Bless her" and then walked away in his own 5 inche boots, LOL! I actually live right down the road from Paisley Park. I'm still sad about his death.

Brilliant song writer (for himself and other artists), he played over 20 instruments and played them well (even had whole albums where he played all the instruments on all the tracks in the studio), a great singer, a great live performer, he could do it all. This heels indirectly lead to princes death. He damaged his hips from years of wearing high heels and needed surgery. He refused to get surgery because he was a jehovahs witness and there is something that they have against surgery, blood or both. Anyway, he was in such much pain he started taking pain killers and fentanol which eventually led to his overdose. Prince wasn't taking drugs for fun. He was in pain.

Prince was the penultimate musical performer. He was simply amazing as an artistic person. To the point of being too eccentric at times. He played a whole concert in the dark once because, I believe, he was upset that people were not enjoying his music but, instead, the flashy show. I mean, most of those who went to the concert had been enjoying his music on cassette tape or the radio without being distracted by his showmanship and had come to enhance their Prince experience by seeing that showmanship.
Prince almost always wore heels and was a little selfconcious about his height. What Prince could do in his dancing are things I couldn't even come close to doing BUT HE ALSO DID IT IN HEALS!
One of my biggest regrets in life is that I never went to see Prince live and I live in Minnesota. I got to see Morris Day and the Time once, which was fire, but never saw Prince. RIP Prince.

He was a genius and he was music. His vault has 8000 unreleased singles 150 videos, filmed rehearsals and all his concerts plus what ever else because he filmed and recorded everything. He put out 40 albums in his career. He wrote songs for many other artists that will surprise you. Listen to the Sunset Sound interviews with Peggy McCreay and David Rivkin who worked with in the recording studio for years. It will be an eye opening experience to understand the work ethic of this genius.
