Zennie, You say Mark has $500mil, isn't that $600mil since NFL allocated $100mil more for Oakland and San Diego?

Z, true or false, City has an escape clause with the A's lease if new Raiders stadium necessitates demolition of Coliseum?
Very encouraging news. With a legit stadium offer on the table shortly, I can't see the league approving Vegas.
    Happy ThxGiving!

$1.363 Billion? That's crazy especially for a small city like Oakland. The Colts and Cardinals built nice stadiums 10 years ago for half that price. This is also going to be more expensive than the new Vikings stadium which has a fixed glass roof. I really wish that there would be no public contribution for this new stadium.

The cost of the stadium here 10 years ago would have been similiar...Also have to consider the market. Does it cost more to develop and live in the Bay Area or Minnesota.

That's a fair argument. I do believe that they Bay Area market is more expensive than Minneapolis, Phoenix or Indianapolis.

      1. Oakland in in the San Francisco Bay Area, look at a map and you will realize that Oakland is surrounded by other "small cities" that make up roughly 7 million people and 2. What does the cost of a stadium have to do with the size of a city ??? Where did you come up with that logic?

I was corrected by John Derham earlier in this thread that the Oakland market is apart of the greater SF Bay area. Regarding the second point, I was comparing it to the situation that the Bills are facing playing in a stadium that is 43 years old. They're being pressured by the NFL too to build a new billion dollar plus stadium in western New York but it's difficult to do so when they have no fortune 500 companies in an area that is slightly economically better than Green Bay. Bills owners know that it would be more difficult to fill a stadium with higher ticket costs. That's where I originally got the logic from not knowing that Oakland is part of greater SF Bay Area market which makes a big difference.
