    What’s your why?

    • @evan_dood
      @evan_dood 11 місяців тому +6

      I feel like my Why might not be as wholesome as yours, or as others' lol but here goes.
      I want to have a job where I'm the one making all the important decisions. I'm 32, and for most of my life I've worked in jobs where management either did not seem to know what they were doing, or they were putting in the bare minimum amount of effort, so it *looked* like they were doing their jobs, but things weren't getting done the way they should have been. I'm usually the guy who (politely) calls out stuff like that, so I've been promoted a few times based on that. But once you become the supervisor or even the manager, you realize... the people above *those* positions *also* are not doing their jobs as well as they could. And it often seems to go all the way to the top.
      So now, as an entrepreneur, I **AM** the top lol. It might partially be an ego thing, but it's been so frustrating experiencing what I just described over and over and over again until you finally give up on being a peon, and decide to become the kind of business owner you would want to work for.

      @WyattKing. I have a bachelor's degree and plenty of experience across many fields. As I said I even got promoted to supervisor at a few jobs. But it's always the same story. There's like 1 person in management who knows what they're doing, and the other 6 are just fumbling around. I just want to make an ok living without losing my mind due to the incompetence lol

      Great advice. My Why is for extra income, showing myself I can do this and honestly clearing out things I do not need, plus it's fun and having this channel and community helps a lot not to feel alone.

      @@evan_dood let me ask you a question. (Because your “loosing your mind”) do you think if Elon musk or Jeff bezos switched places with you.. do you think they would be stressed? Most likely not. Now why is that. Simply there skill set and there adaptability to overcome stress. Something hard to someone is easy to another and the reward is learning how to overcome that issue.

    This was a great video, man. My "why" is my desire to spend as much time just growing old with my wife and spending time with my grandchildren. I'm gonna be a grandpa soon, and hopefully there are more coming in the future. I missed enough of my own children's growing up due to my day job and traveling for the last 26 years. I'm done with that. Reselling/UA-cam is my path to financial freedom so I can do just that,

    It’s hard to stay motivated to list when nothing is selling for sure. I’ve listed 350 this month, sold 50, 1 on Friday, 1 on Saturday, 2 Sunday and zero today so far. My motivation is zapped. Most of the country is stuck inside with ice on the roads and 4 sales all weekend? Why list? 😂. That’s when my burnout starts.

    Great advice, thank you! The mind games we play with ourselves can be hard to get over, i.e. I'm not listing enough, I'm not fast enough, others do more than I do. And then it gets depressing and the joy is lost. A lot of my items are vintage. It will always be slower to list those types. I need to get out of my own head! 😅 Enjoying the moments in and out of the business are important! Thanks for the reminder and advice!

    Your example of trying to mix in items someone enjoys, to reduce burnout, when sourcing or listing items That can feel monotonous. That sounds like the pomodoro process. Set yourself 10 to 15 minutes to grind. And then give yourself 5 minutes of fun time. Rinse and repeat. You'd be surprised how much more you get done with that little break to keep you motivated. Look up pomodoro technique if you all are new to it. It'll change your world.
