Took my adult son out thrifting with me and it paid off! He found a stuffed character that cost $1.50 and I just sold it today for $92 on eBay! I don’t think I would have spotted that one. It caught his eye, so he looked it up! I’ve been having some great flips, but that one was really good! Sometimes a second pair of eyes is helpful!
Passed on some Maui Jims yesterday, they looked like knock off Ray-Bans so I didn't even check them and that's why you scan everything. Amazing tips, I appreciate it so much! Making contacts with people who do storage units is what I would prefer.
Well done. Enjoy your videos and have learned a lot. One other area of sourcing in my area (Minnesota) are the online auctions. Being Minnesota, there are no garage sales late Fall through Spring. We have several of the Caring Transition franchises here and they are getting a fair share of the Estate Sale trade. They also start their items at $1.00 (several other of our local auction companies start at $5.00). Have been finding things at good prices almost every week.
I kill it with local online auctions. I get a lot of items for $3-5 and resell them for $15-25. Just this week I got an aquarium chiller for $11 that retails at $200 and I paid $11 for a four pack of round new in box chaffing (buffet) dishes that retails for $100
12:41 banger point. I will do whatever it takes to not throw that first number out. Even if I have to rephrase the question, it’ll do that before they get a number out of me
I’ll just flat tell them- ‘Hey, you’re the one selling it, you need to come up with a number. Buyers don’t go first.’ I’ll walk away before I put a number on another seller’s item.
Even the expensive yard sales can be profitable. Most people place too much value on certain things and think other things are worthless. Often it’s based on their personal preference. I try to figure out what categories they think are worthless and I shop for those items.
All of these tips are great. I’ve always been wary of buyers attempting to manipulate me with similar tactics and I always love it when they try it on items that are 🔥. As an example an item that has sold for $50, 800 times in the last year and there are 10 available with mine already priced as the 2nd or 3rd cheapest. That’s when I have all the leverage and if they don’t play my game by my rules they are getting blocked and I’ll sell it to the buyer that understands the rules. THIS is why sell through rate is so so important. Control.
The tips you given are so helpful. Things have changed and sales have picked up more then ever because of listening and watching you. Thank you from all my heart I wouldn’t be where I am without your knowledge
With the AirPod pro 2’s, what are you doing to when they are tied to an apple case or person? I also purchased a lot and I am having trouble with this.
I kinda used the camera thing by accident last weekend at flea/swap meet.. i picked up a camcorder and he said 10 I told him I wasn't interested and he sad i will throw in the mini dv discs for it, i told i don't if it even working, he said make me an offer i said 7, he said yes, went home it worked and it sells for about 80-100 on ebay
Hi J. Thank you for the great video. I have a drawer with some new EarPods from our old phones and I’m glad to see that they sell good. I also saw my exact crockpot sitting on your shelf. I bought it brand new years ago and it still works great. Except the plastic knob is starting to crack.
Yes please Jride make another video about how to make contacts + plus if yoy add actually how to orgenise all the car boots whats going to pop up to FBM - another AWSOME VIDEO
Thank you so much for the tips and tricks! I just started reselling and already have made more from your tips! What do you think about traveling outside your area more? Is there a limit to how far to source ? Thanks for everything!
My husband, white, male early 30s goes to yardsales & often whether said outloud or in secret jacked the price because they , the yard sellers, said he looks like a flipper😢 he has to use his ingenuity to outsmart the "smarties" 😂
I sold a Fenton glass pitcher on Poshmark for $100. In two weeks. It's my second sale ever on Poshmark. (I've been on ebay since 1999). I know you skip the glass isle but there is money to be found and your there anyway. I wish I could add a photo.
J, you are a youtube gem! This is the kind of info even experienced sellers can use. Too many channels just regurgitate the same info. You don't. THANK YOU.
Hey Jake, just curious when you start sending offers to watchers on your items? Do you send offers as soon as watchers show up, after a month or so,etc.?
I personally do immediately as well. My understanding is that it’s best to do it while they are still shopping. Because if they are serious you run the risk of them finding it cheaper and or someone else sending them an offer first. I am of the opinion that it also gives them the warm and fuzzies thinking ok wow this person is on it here and ready to do business and offer me great customer service. I sell about 72% of my items on offers. Whether given or received. It’s not gospel just all my unsolicited humble opinion. Happy selling. 🎉
Is this where I go to complain about my thrift stores? lol. Great negotiating tactics. Now everyone that runs a garage sale in your area that watches your videos, knows ur secrets and going to be firm on everything when they see you.
That is like a bait and switch!!! I say hey I don’t want the New Wave is $5 ok on the golf club. If they say yes. Ok. If they say $10 I say how about $7. I give them a chance after I don’t buy something that they really want to get rid of, because it is big.
Is going off of a high STR always accurate? I have 2 items listed right now that have a 535% (23÷123) STR and they have been sitting for 6 & 11 days. They're at a little below going price, free returns, $2.35 shipping, offers open-min at 2 dollars, good photos. What do I have wrong?
Try promoting if you’d like a little to move a little faster . Also try checking your title compared to the most recent sold . Sometimes they have keywords you may not. Good luck 🙏🏽
Have free shipping if you don’t already. Also what helps me I would check often on daily recent solds and try to see what is selling instead of mine, to see if they’re cheaper or anything.
I learn so much from your videos, Jake! This one was awesome, look forward to Part 2! I need help with sourcing for lower prices at thrift stores, can you help? Thanks!!!
Didnt watch this but im gonna give yall the tip on how to get a decent deal. Walk up, be polite, ask price, if to high ask politely for a lower price if not move on. Saved you time =^.^=
Great negotiating tips! Would like to see more on making contacts. Also, just a pet peeve 😊. Please stop using the word “tons” so much. Go back and count in your videos how much you say it. Don’t know why it bothers me.
I'll probably keep using it too, I use it only to delist/relist in bulk on poshmark and mercari and I don't think there's any other program that does that for cheap. Vendoo is definitely more expensive.

Get rid of those Duracell batteries. They're known to leak profusely.

With the AirPod pro 2’s, what are you doing to when they are tied to an apple case or person? I also purchased a lot and I am having trouble with this.
I just picked up a Bose AV321 with remote, sub and speakers for $35!!!! It works too so I am probably going to keep it because I need an am radio lol.
Basically ripping people
Off at garage sales using psychology. What a nice guy
Basically, you don't own a dictionary.

When you get an SD card, so you erase it? Will it potentially give you a virus if you put it in your computer??
Awesome video would like tips on getting better deals at goodwill and value village thanks

Do you have a problem with batteries corroding in things, I haven't seen you look?

Hey Jake, just curious when you start sending offers to watchers on your items? Do you send offers as soon as watchers show up, after a month or so,etc.?
Immediately
OK gotcha. Curious why you don’t wait longer? Is it so you could get better sales velocity?

Hi, love ur content. When is the next Q&a please?
I live in west central Indiana. Zero flea markets.
Is this where I go to complain about my thrift stores? lol. Great negotiating tactics. Now everyone that runs a garage sale in your area that watches your videos, knows ur secrets and going to be firm on everything when they see you.
Cringe dude. This is manipulation. Used car salesman type garage. Be a decent human being
I have a yard sale t-shirt that always breaks the ice when people read it.
I found those exact same shoes at my thrift store! But they had them marked up at 40 😢

Fill out as much as you can in the item specifics section. My listing are usually right under people that pays for promotions.
535% STR over 90 days is avg 17 days to sell
Best deals at Thrift stores
Super Super Helpful! Thank you!
I'd call your NuWave move HOOK & BUY 😉
The Nuwave and Golf Club technique is "Bait and switch." Usually works really well. Thanks for the video! Always enjoy your content.

OK, so you buy a camera with no charger. The battery will not be charged. Then what? Do you just have mountains of old camera batteries at your HQ?
Yes I do
Didnt watch this but im gonna give yall the tip on how to get a decent deal.

Are you going to continue to use Flyp crosslister now that they are going to a $9 per month business model in March 2024 ?
