  • It can be so difficult to figure out how to switch from crocheting rows to rounds when you're working a bottom up hat! Where do you insert the hook? How do you increase? How often? This tutorial shows you the math behind it, no matter what hat you're making, and will guide you through crocheting around the brim of the hat. Specifically for the Bre Beanie.

Wouldn’t it be easier to have change 60 or 63 in the beginning ?

I purchased the Bre pattern and then found this helpful video... But I must have made a mistake somewhere, I’m using 5.5 mm hook, ‘I love this yarn’ size 4 yarn, but my brim and hat is turning out toddler sized! 😅

You might just crochet more tightly! I have a friend that makes the pattern with a K-hook. When in doubt, size up the hook! Or add a few extra rows to the brim and stitches to the round. It will still be the same hat, just customized to your crocheting style.

@@thatcozyfox Thanks for the tips! Yes, I absolutely crochet tightly. I’m remaking it now with a looser tension and added more rows/stitches and it’s turning out great! 😊
