Yarn Hack: How to wind a hank when you don't have a swift, and core workout.
Purchasing hand-dyed yarn and being sent a hank and you don't know what to do with it? Ending up with a tangled mess? I've made a tiktok about my struggles... but you don't have to struggle! You can very easily wind your own hank into a cake that won't roll away and sits so pretty on the shelf, AND it can pull from the center! All you need to get started is your hank, scissors, 2 glasses (preferably glass and angles outward, they need to have some weight to them), and your thumb. BONUS, this also doubles as an obliques workout. Enjoy! Don't forget to like and subscribe.

There are so many ways to close a hat! It's mostly about preference. I prefer to never have to remove my hook or do any sewing, so if you're like me, you'll love this method! This is showing how to close the Bre Beanie, my most popular pattern (thatcozyfox.etsy.com) But this method can be used for any "Bottoms Up" style of hat! Perfect for slouchy hats.

That’s a good age for it. It’s just a general toddler size. Since ponchos are meant to be loose, sizing isn’t as big of a deal

What size hat are we making?
This is an adult female size hat
I purchased the Bre pattern and then found this helpful video... But I must have made a mistake somewhere, I’m using 5.5 mm hook, ‘I love this yarn’ size 4 yarn, but my brim and hat is turning out toddler sized! 😅
You might just crochet more tightly! I have a friend that makes the pattern with a K-hook. When in doubt, size up the hook! Or add a few extra rows to the brim and stitches to the round. It will still be the same hat, just customized to your crocheting style.
