      Having similar results myself …this “idea“ created with the pvc& lights along with keeping elbows in and rolling arms down with wrist(left wrist ) sort of closed ( closed meaning fingers closer to inside of wrist like arm wrestling move)through contact has stopped my insane slice and or snap hook/topped type strikes ….its really hard to overcome my 34 yr old bad swing and i havent mastered it by any means yet …but using this as a gauge /starting point i dont need to carry 5-10 different swing thoughts at address.which when adjusting i can just slightly tweak 1 thing at a time with little thought ,decide if its the way to go or not and find “my swing “ (correct swing) quite a bit faster ..right now its a matter of weakening my grip back from my crazy strong grip ive developed over the years… which is another new feeling to overcome/get ingrained which is clumsy at the moment ,but so far has made overall dramatic improvement quicker …for me this is huge

    I made this training aid a few weeks ago "WOW" how much it made a difference in my last two games, You are the only golf instructor i now subscribe to. Deleted all the rest.
    It was a bit more expensive to purchase the Maglite in Australia $40 each light
    But so worth every cent.
    Every night i walk past it i have a little swing.
    Being a long time golfer but taken it up again now in my sixtys, i wish i came across this 30 years ago.
    Thank you for all videos
    Keep them coming

    I made one! I did an extra step that adds a measure of confidence- I drilled the PVC - first a pilot hole using the hole in the butt end of the maglight as a guide, about four inches up the pipe - then a slightly larger through hole, and after taping and inserting the flashlight I threaded a small zip-tie through the pipe and the little hole on the back of the flashlight inside the tube- 100% prevention for the light from ever sliding out.
    My beam was all over the place and I wasn't hinging well - nice optical feedback! Will see what happens from here.

      Can you post a picture? I get the the hole drilling but a little unsure of what or how the zip tie is leveraged here? With only one hole, are you pushing it around the base of the magalite and cinching it atop the hole? Thanks

    • @samuelmorse1646
      @samuelmorse1646 4 дні тому +1

      @@ElGuapoBeltran I drilled off center - a hole that goes through the tube two times, lined up with the hole on the butt end of the flashlight where a tether could b tied to the flashlight. It's a little fussy to thread the zip tie through the flashlamp inside the tube, but once it's made the lamp is secure. I'll grab a picture soon - if one is handy and have a zip-tie assortment including small ones - it's an easy way to secure the tool. I still use the swing aid regularly!

    I made my own training aid for under 5 dollars. I went to dollar store purchased two flashlights, batteries and a pool noodle. I cut the pool noodle to about 35 inches. Took the flashlight and put it in the hole at the end of the noodle and another flashlight at the other end. It is not as sturdy but you get the idea of how to swing. Also grabbing it is thicker than a golf club but it serves my purpose. I had the best round of my life by using this aid. I used it for drives, irons, and chipping. Thank you so much for this video!!

    I absolutely loved this video and your presentation. I'm a firm if not obsessive believer that building the correct/perfect plane will also build the perfect swing motion and resulting clubhead path. Your light sabre is absolutely perfect for teaching players how to move every body part or muscle group correctly through the entire swing motion matrix. You truly are a Jedi golf master and I thank you for showing me how to make it and use it. It's the capstone that holds the entire "build the plane, build the swing" method or philosophy if you like, together! Thanks again.

    Our family really enjoys traveling and discovering the St. Lawrence River, Ontario and Quebec. Over the years, we have discovered historic places, seen whales and magnificent landscapes and... this week, we stopped at an old fashion ice cream stop. Stunning. A classic road trip. Behind there was a mini put. Okay, even better. And further, a driving range. With difficulty and misery, my boy convinced us to try. And here we are, the whole family in crocs and pajamas, driving balls for the first time in our lives. Despite the beauties that the river has offered us, the gulf remains our most beautiful discovery to date. The majority of our budget always remains in adventures so a training aid like this is probably the best investment. Thank you very much. Mark

    I constructed mine with 1/2" sch 40 PVC using Mini Mag lights with 2 each AAA battery's , (smaller diameter butt end) electricians friction tape, and a gripped end to simulate a regular shafted club by using tennis racket grip wrap (very thin) all from "Lowes" where they sell the pipe in a shorter than 10' length.

    Love this aid as I'm a 10 handicapper and sometimes overswing and come over the top. This helps me with muscle memory and sends my swing down the target line. I made a modification to mine as I wanted to make a full swing. I used a hacksaw to cut a 1-1/4 inch slit with a V shape down the middle of the PVC on both sides. Put the electrical tape on the flashlight as in the video and placed it in the PVC. Then, used a zip tie to act as a clamp to hold the flashlight in on the bottom of the shaft. Make sure the zip tie is very tight and towards the end of the PVC shaft. You can use a hose clamp or spring clamp instead of the zip tie. Now I can swing away.

    What you are really doing is instilling the love of the golf game to your students. So many people stop playing because it gets to complicated for them.

    Excellent . How about just hook up lasers to the smaller pvc to be more like a club grip. Also lasers are more precise and cheaper ?

    Absolutely brilliant, sir. The K.I.S.S.principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid") in action. I hope you put all those overpriced golf gadget charlatans (begins with "L" and ends in "better", for one) out of business. BTW, I've found lying a tape measure on the ground as an aim line is easy and very portable.

    Food for thought.
    Take the electricians tape and wrap one end to simulate a golf grip.

      That black tape will give and work it's way loose and the adhesive gets everywhere. Good idea but I wouldn't use electricians tape for it.

    I bet this is going to show tons of mistakes I have in the swing lol I never have understood the feeling of leading with the handle while pointing it to the ball. Pointing to the target line makes since!!!!

    This is really good stuff you should totally patent this before someone else makes a gimmicky replica and charges $200

    You don’t need the pipe, just tape two laser pointers end to end and grip the middle. It points exactly the same no matter the length of the shat or having a shaft at all. It is easier to have something like a tube to stick them in for ease of changing batteries.

    I made this and have set up a line in my garage and I have been practicing. It really seems to work. My question is that if you follow the line on the way down and through does that prevent the club from shallowing? Or are we assuming that with the weight of a club head it will automatically?? Thank you again for EXCELLENT content

    • @TheGolfSensei
      @TheGolfSensei  11 місяців тому +1

      If you stay on the line, you'll naturally keep your shaft on plane as your weight shifts to your lead side. This is a topic we'll cover more in future videos. Great question!
