  • Welcome back to the channel for the 10th instalment of the Ford Ranger chassis rebuild series
In this video we make the final push to get the pick up ready for the MOT test and hopefully back on the road
the first job is to change the upper ball joints on the front suspension, although there was no play in them the rubbers boots have perished and as such would fail the MOT test
next on the list was the front brakes, although they had some life left in them it made sense to change them while we were there, the dust boot covers have seen better days on the callipers but they were working fine, so its a job to keep in mind for another time
another 'while your there' job was to change out the front anti roll bar drop links to complete the front end work on the pick up
Finally got the rusted exhaust flange sorted out too, I had originally planned to try and weld it back on the exhaust but then remembered replacing the sleeve type clamp fitted to the Audi a couple of years ago and wondered if I could get one to fit the ranger exhaust which measured approx. 61mm, I managed to pick one up locally and after cutting off the opposing flange it worked better than I could have hoped, ideal solution
the rear tyres had also seen better days and again although they would have passed the MOT inspection at 3mm, I managed to pick up a set of second hand 18" wildtrack alloys with nearly new tires for a great deal
I've had a few issues recently with missing audio after rendering the video using premier pro and this one is no exception unfortunately, this was the best result after 4 attempts which it very frustrating and extremely time consuming , im working on it sorry

No need to apologize for the short bits of audio that are missing Paul, we get the gist of it.Hopefully it passed and now back on the road
