right? I need to get a new proctologist because mine always hopes mine gets torn to shreds and tries to put a witch's curse on it
why do I keep going back? because he also gives out scratch-n-sniff stickers when you're done, so it's hard to not recommend him

  • @ModusVivendiMedia
    @ModusVivendiMedia 6 місяців тому +72

Short version: Nerves in the butt detect pressure (among other things), but can't tell the difference between pressure from swelling and pressure from actual poop. Also, the colon is constantly pushing more poop, a little at a time, into the rectum.
If you sit on the toilet for too long, your hemorrhoids will get more and more inflamed, even if there's no more poop. If you sit long enough, you may also periodically poop out smaller amounts of increasingly liquid poop that is always coming from the colon (but which hasn't had the chance to dry out in the rectum yet), all the while inflaming your hemorrhoids even more, leading to a painful, leaky butt once you finally do get up.
So get your business done and get off the toilet quickly, even if it feels like you could maybe poop some more.

You have a delightful and engaging way of talking about elimination.
This is a topic I can relate to. Now I know why! Thanks!!
I also noticed the conveyor belt effect. Of course, the more I eat, the more often that refilling of the rectum takes place. When I fast, the fecal flow to the rectum takes a break.
Hint for those who are constipated or want to trigger evacuation, sexual fantasy relaxes the sphincter and eases elimination.

Love Dr. Chung's videos. He's an expert in his field, and so caring and compassionate! Dr. Chung, it would be great if you could do a video on fiber tips for patients who have had bowel/colon surgery (bowel resection) and abdominal adhesions forming post surgery, many times years later. Not all fibers are good for this situation, and a video explaining pros and cons of various fibers and fiber supplements for folks having been through bowel resection. Sometimes, fiber makes the situation worse, in which case low residue may be better for some. Perhaps in the future you can do a video on this subect! I struggle with this al the time. (I've had 2 bowel resections due to endometriosis that wrapped and strangled my colon. Had the "bag" in between surgeries. I'm lucky enough to still be here, as the first surgery for a ruptured colon resulted in severe life threatening sepsis. That was 20 years ago, and I'm still here, alive, healthy, and well!) Thanks for all of your videos, so informative! I enjoy them all!

We've got another live one! We gotta go number 2 again. Lol. That was great. As you can tell, I am extremely mature for my age, lol. No, but really, your channel does have some helpful explanations. I just cant help but giggle when talking about this stuff.

This is good and helpful, but for me, the other “lose” situation would be when I’ve showered for the night and have to poop again afterward. That’s the time when I tend to try too long on the toilet - before my pre- bedtime shower. I will try your advice!

Pre-bedtime shower? A shower usually invigorates me and wakes me up. I am glad it works for you but that's the opposite of my experience.
But i agree that the need for a post shower dump is an awful feeling. It's like the shower was a waste of time.

@@Torgo1969 I spent a number of years working with animals and got in the habit of needing to wash the filth of the day off before bed. Not immediately before, but before settling in to watching a little tv. I actually sauna before the shower most nights. 🙂

@@lorinichols1847 Sweet. I am a small animal vet but I know from vet school how dirty and dusty one can get from working with large animals in a barn.
These better days of actually getting paid to work have me showering before work so I don't offend clients. Enjoy your sauna!

I highly recommend a bidet toilet seat. I got one back during lockdown when people were hoarding toilet paper and I love it! As someone said in an online review, if you get "mud" anywhere else on your body - you wouldn't just use dry paper to clean it off, you'd use water! 🙂

Spot on this makes sense. Anxiety definitely can also cause constant pooing probably with diarrhoea. When your feeling well with no Piles, its normal poo and less often. I suffer from internal piles, and sometimes bleed before, after or during pooing. Sometimes bright red/pink blood with small thrombosed clot in it. What is that? My colonoscopy was all clear.

EXACTLY what I go thru all day ....everyday ! I believe anxiety has a little bit to do with it ..Ive tried everything as far as diet goes but no help ....Im never actually " constipated " , as far as the stool is soft when it first comes out ( after breakfast and coffee in the morning ) but the rest of the day I have the feeling I ( might ) need to go again . THAT WHEN it becomes hard to get out ...I sit for long periods of time and maybe get one piece out ..then feel like its complete ...only to feel the urge ten minutes later ..it really is exhausting ugh Glad to know im not the only one ugh getting OLD sucks ha ( Im 60 )
