  • No Gear Wilderness Expedition. Surviving With Nothing But Nature!
Embark on a no-tool primitive survival adventure in the heart of the Appalachian forest, where resourcefulness and knowledge of the natural world are your greatest allies. Begin by foraging for food, identifying edible plants such as wild berries, nuts, and roots. Use your keen observation skills to locate a spring head, where the water is purest and flows from the ground, ensuring a safe and reliable drinking source.
Construct a water-tight container using only materials found in the wild. Seek out large leaves, hollowed logs, or clay from riverbanks, shaping and sealing them with natural adhesives like tree resin to store and transport water effectively.
Hunting for food becomes a test of patience and skill. Craft rudimentary traps and use sharpened sticks to hunt small game, relying on your understanding of animal behavior and tracking techniques. Protect yourself from mosquito bites by rubbing wild peppermint leaves on your skin, a natural repellent found abundantly in the forest.
Weave a fish basket using flexible vines and branches, setting it in streams to catch fish, a vital source of protein. Throughout your journey, hike the expansive forest, navigating by landmarks and the position of the sun, immersing yourself in the raw beauty and challenges of the Appalachian wilderness. This experience hones your survival skills, deepens your connection to nature, and tests your ability to thrive using only what the forest provides.

Favorite location, there's a trickle of water near Hume VA that is the start of the Rappahannock River. It's mislabeled on GPS and paper maps so only people in the know can find it. Only downside is it's overrun with bear and panthers

I learned a few things from this vid, and that’s always a good thing. Most of all, I can see why you mentioned patience and pacing. We live so fast- paced most of the time with conveniences that we’re use to having it right now. So thanks for that mention. Great vid.

Lol. It was fun but certainly a challenge in select areas. Starting a primitive fire was the biggest challenge in the rain.

I try to imagine a scenario where you two ended up ''naked'' of any EDCs and all I can think of is that you've been held as prisoners after a fight, and somehow manage to escape, without having to confront someone [and take his gear] and now you're hiding in the woods, working yourselves up to more familiar places and re-equip, to face those who slowly but steady are following you.....

Good day Jason & Jason. Marvelous surroundings you've got there. The girls reckon you're the perfect candidate for a Vegan. Just like you, our girls can go through the bushes like a lawn mower. They eat & chew on anything green & tasty. Cordages & fire are hard to achieve when forecast aren't kind. Our girls learnt a valuable lesson from their First Nation wanderer friends on how to start a fire when mother nature says "no fires". You always carry some ambers along with you. But how you get that amber.? They do have the Aboriginal word for it that we can't pronounce, the girls reckon it's like making sushi. Their dad say it's like rolling a joint but in a more harmonious way. You take two flat peices of dry wood or bark or stones and rolled of some of that tinder/birds nest and put them in between the flat wood/bark/stones. And rub away matey.! Besides the Sun, our body is a great source of heat so keep those item in the pocket to keep it dry for future usages. We are very impressed with this video mate. Cheers from Australia.

You do know that one of you is wearing boots with long laces. Why not utilize one of those laces for your bow ? That will make it a lot easier to make a fire.
