    Next one to make would be a bow and arrow type of trap, with a trip wire, that would be awsome. 😎👍

    The most dangerous trap is a simple cord and loop. The Cree and Dene in north Canada used snares to catch every animal from squirrels to caribou even fish and ducks. Samuel Hearne Book journey to a northern ocean written in 1790 describes how the natives lived in such a harsh environment.

    I got a little wood at the bottom of my garden and sometimes you get people walking in my property from there
    So I’ve built 2 of these at the wood edge
    Teach them to trespass
    I have also put fecal matter on the spikes

    You played around trying to get those pegs strait
    When you could have done a little notching and things would have gone much smoother
    Besides if i was in dire straights needing food, i would use knives or something that would penetrate much deeper.

    This is similar to a fish trap but on it's side... and with spikes. Alternatively you can have the swinging branch vertical and have some fish bait on a string on the hair trigger. When it triggers, the branch should pull the fish out of the water.

    Knowing traps like this is an important skill. In a SHTF situation, and you have to bug out into the wilderness, if anyone comes looking for you, if they're unwanted and intent on doing you harm, they'll learn real quick, back off.

      Yes mate exactly and I could be adapted to have Pointier things on this trap along with a alarm system that you make could make all the difference when you are in a tent or hammock

    Nice try but far from professional, you should come to Suriname let we Teach you in trap settings.after 2 hours the spring force will be gone and the recoil will only be 15%, not even enough to perforate a pack of butter in bright sunshine

      OOO, that's interesting, mate. I'm always up for learning new stuff, but I'm unsure what you could add 🤔 but I'm intrigued how would you make this not lose any strength over time if you have to keep it set

      Most woods going to lose spring overtime for his answer would be to pick a better tree like a willow

    • @Sapienism_
      @Sapienism_  3 місяці тому

      @drews0311 Well, judging by the lack of his reply, I don't think he knows himself. What wood you would use that would indefinitely retain It's spring.
      The simple answer is, like you said, there is no wood that would do this, but the best type of wood that would have The best shot would be something like yew Because it's a naturally laminate wood with a soft outer wood and a hard in a wood. This would probably be the best, but no one is going to waste a nice piece of yew for a trap that's going to be set up for a few days at a time and should be checked Regularly
