- In today's video we are back at Costco for another Kosher and Gluten Free Costco Haul! Yes, I brought the camera along for my monthly Costco haul so you can see what yummy kosher and gluten free things we purchased from our local Costco. We always purchase kosher because as Orthodox Jews we keep strict kosher, and we purchase gluten free because we have a member of our family with Celiac. I'm not a member of Costco but sometimes the deals I see other people get there look worth while. The smoked salmon you bought made me crave it yum. Hair bump, scarf & earing combo look nice on you.

Where i live we have Sams no Cosco. Unless drive to Denver. 🤷♀️
To me the yummy one are two, deli products and bread, maybe some place to mayonnaise and cucumbers in vinegar…maybe some tomato… not bbq but ketchup sauce… ops there are more than two😂🤣🤣 .

I just spent a small fortune on tall kitchen drawstring trash bags today. I need to have my dad buy some from Costco.
I am not Jewish but I used to slice kosher cheeses. The Rabbi would come in ritually cleans our slicers. Rebless our kosher knives marked with a k never used on anything else. Then when we came in without being obvious about it he blessed all of us that worked with the cheese and each time we went on break and came back he did it again. He stayed in the area the whole time we processed the cheese. I tried a piece of havarti it was great. The parts we couldn't slice went back with him.
I appreciate these food hauls. It helps those of us that are new to kosher 😊. I laughed at you just buying honey whenever you go. It's the same reason I have 6 bottles of maple syrup and honey. 😂

I love how you say “It’s Costco, so you never know!”. That is so true. So many times I go into Costco for water and come out with a new outfit or something else funny. You really never know what I will bring home from Costco. 🤣

Chana, thank you for your videos. I too am Catholic by birth and was raised Catholic. I struggle with it. I’ve tried other churches but don’t feel they are much better. Many aspects of Judaism appeal to me but I doubt I would go there. I’m 70 years old and have been struggling with this most of my adult life. You look so happy! You’ve found what works for you! I don’t have a Costco close enough to shop but I do shop at Sam’s. I wish I could get the larger heavy whipping cream at Sam’s. Your children are so helpful! Have a wonderful weekend!
A lot of our favorites in this video. The Bonne Maman is the best! And, the jar is a great size to reuse for leftovers and storage. Unlike other jars, the label comes off clean with just a bit of a soak, no glue residue, yay!
Oh good to know about the labels! We grind a lot of our own spices so I’m always saving jars :)

I really enjoy the grocery hauls. I have a master list on my laptop of all items I buy regularly. I go through it when preparing for my online grocery hauls. I add to it when I discover new favourites. It's saves time, effort and the times I have forgotten to order essentials. I'm with your son on sardines. I love them on toast.

I love sardines in tomato sauce with matzo at Passover my Mom always got yummy or in a salad.

Thank you for sharing your trip with us. We love Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce in this house as well.
A super easy crockpot recipe that we use with the sauce is
2 pounds bonless/skinless chicken breasts
1/4-1/2 cup dry rub
3/4 cup chicken broth
1 1/2 cup BBQ sauce.
Sprinkle chicken breasts with dry rub and place in crockpot. Add BBQ sauce. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, when done cooking, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred. Remove the liquid from the crockpot. Add shredded chicken back to the crockpot and mix with BBQ sauce. Keep chicken in crockpot until warmed through.
These make great sandwiches/wraps or eaten plain. It makes amazing leftovers (like what we are having this week for lunch)

I love haul videos...maybe it is just my nosiness in seeing what others get at the grocery store. I do pick up some good ideas as well. We have a Costco in Huntsville, AL but as it is just my husband and myself, we do not purchase as many groceries as we did when our children were home. Scones...yes please. I am a biscuit maker and I just picked up some buttermilk in order to make some for dinner this week.
I love Kodiak!!! I love their bear Graham crackers and their chocolate chip protein frozen waffles are good too.
I have diabetes 2 and I always have to watch the sugar content and fiber and protein too.

Chana, if you have time try to go to” Camp” interactive toy and fun store. For kids….lol up to age 100. My DIL designs them and has a crew to help put everything together..

I'm not Jewish but I've learned alot about Orthodox Judaism by watching your channel. When I go grocery shopping I love to look for Kosher hechshers. To me it's interesting to see what is kosher and what isn't. And it's a learning experience. When I find a
hechsher I've not seen before I get excited.
For personal health reasons I'm transitioning to gluten free and dairy free. I've learned alot too about gluten free and dairy free foods by watching your channel.

What an interesting shopping visit to Costco!. We have been living out of America ( in Israel) for 40 years, with visits to US every 3-9 years. On our trips in, our visits to Costco were more for nonedible items, or vitamins and tylenol. We were so surprised to see the wide variety of food items and manufacturing companies that are gluten free and kosher . The only brand we recognized was Hellmans mayonaise.! For $250 you can feed the family nicely. Enjoy Bon Appetite

Mr & I eat Keto ( sugar, grains, wheat flour etc free) and Costco has many options for us. We currently are doing Carnivore so went yesterday and grabbed a couple roasted chickens, brats, burger & steak then break it down in smaller portions for Mr & I. I also use my Costco Credit Card as much as possible then get the cash back (gas, home improvement, furnace, furniture etc). The membership pays for itself.

My daughter has been eating sardines since she was about 3 years old. She is now a mom herself and her girls do not like sardines. I like them with mustard on toast. Blessings to you and your family.
We grew up eating sardines maybe once a week back in the 50s & 60s. Now I'm 72 and can't even stand the smell of them. Every once in a while I will make a sardine sandwich for my 95yo mum. I have to wrap the empty can and put it in the outside bin asap. Im in Australia.

Hi Chana. Your Costco haul brought back so many memories. When I took care of my dad and aunt that was the main store!! One thing that helped me both with room in the car and back and forth trips into the house was the reusable canvas shopping bags. I put the groceries in those while I took them out of the cart and had way fewer trips into the house. I took a guess at what you spent and I was 20$ off. I surprised myself with that 😂. You would think I would have a Costco card having 5 kids. Now I definitely will get one know. I spend $300 a week on food or more at Walmart. And it's hard to find kosher products. So I shop at 2 stores. Thanks for the video.
You’re so welcome! We love our Costco. It’s super handy especially for snacks and cheese which are such great prices there compared to anywhere else.
I know this is a VERY old video but I will say just for anyone lurking-for baking honey quality matters very little. Obviously you don’t want bottom of the barrel horrible. But most of the quality of good (raw, local honey) comes from it not being heated up. So really nice honey is best for things like tea (when it’s been cooled down a touch), toast, etc. But there’s no real difference in using processed honey vs raw/wildflower honey for anything where the honey is heated up a lot. The flavor should not change from processed honey and it makes Rosh Hashana half as expensive lol

I LOVE the pitas. They make an awesome pizza with a little cheese and sauce. Plus they freeze beautifully so we can stock up when we are near Costco. Our nearest one is around 3 hours away.

Also, my mom took me to Walmart yesterday and I bought a cart for laundry/trash/ and groceries, it helps so much. And it's sturdier than the last one I bought. I almost forgot mozzarella cheese for homemade pizza tomorrow. I had to run back and get it. I always stock up on shredded cheese too. I use Boboli crust for pizza!!

Something I did notice, & was concerned about.
Sweet Baby Ray's contains high fructose corn syrup.
It's a pesky little unhealthy ingredient that is in a lot of foods.
I would check the BBQ sauce, the Clif bars, the jelly.
Check the mayo too.
Just in case.

Thank you so much for sharing your gluten free and kosher purchases at Costco - we don't have one within an hour's drive, so I have never been - we do, however, have a Sam's Club in our town. To be honest, I am so extremely careful about gluten exposure that I don't even risk purchasing anything that has been manufactured "on shared equipment". 2 days ago I had a routine upper endoscopy and found that with as careful as I have been since my celiac diagnosis 5 1/2 years ago, I still have signs of blistering along my intestinal tract and small bowel - it's frustrating - there are so many products that have hidden gluten in them - like licorice or salad dressings, sauces, etc. It must be very difficult for you as a mom to keep your son safe.
I love Bonne Maman jam. Besides being delicious, the family hid and saved Jews in Paris during the Holocaust. I will always support brands who were on the right side of history.

I mostly make my own jams, but when I want a change, I buy Bonne Maman, and especially when I read their story. At my Costco, I can buy that Norwegian smoked salmon in a pack of 10 individual serving pouches. It’s compares well in cost and flavour with bigger packs, and works well for me. My husband doesn’t like smoked salmon, poor thing!
