I was doing this 10 years ago, even broke 90, then, I started listening to the traditional golf instruction, and my swing became FUBAR’d. I gave up golf for a few years, then cam back, stop listening to the bulls**t and went back to standing on my lead foot and enjoying golf again. Jim, glad to see someone is teaching this game the way it should be taught. Thanks man!!
Pay attention people. This is gold. I don’t use the complete Venetos system but I practice using it because it gives me the feeling of what proper contact is like and it promotes a shallow path. By all means convert completely to Jim’s method if you want but if you can’t bring yourself to do it completely then use it when you practice. Every aspect of the system will help your swing.
After following the Jim Swing I hit ball after ball after ball absolutely sweet and with pure contact. I've wasted years and lots of money following the conventional swing. Within 2 months of following Jim's Philosophy I now play like I've always wanted to and actually enjoy golf 😂 If I could afford to join the academy I wouldn't hesitate but alas times are hard so his you tube vids will have to do for now 👍 Thanks Jim you are the Jedi master of the golf swing
Tried Jim's swing for two days, today I was swinging the club much more relaxed like a pendulum, staying in my front side not as closed as yesterday and it worked really well! Some nice high distance with a slight draw. I applied the front side pressure and swing with my usual set up and it worked as well. My take away was not the issue it was staying on my front side with a relaxed pendulum like swing. Great tips and swing, if your having trouble with your swing try this it works very well. As Jim says you don't have to think about every little part of your swing, you just stay relaxed and hit great shots. Today my swing was the most relaxed it's ever been.
I'm 49, I just started using this swing and its a game changer. I am a good golfer. I shoot in the mid 70's to low 80's but I'm inconsistent when it comes to my second shot. Using this swing has greatly improved my ball striking. I'm glad i found you!! Thanks!!!
Years ago mid 90's I had a bad car wreck. Crushed my right ankle. Missed a lot of work. When I could stand up I went to the range to do this thing I love.......golf. mostly to reset mentally. Did not care if I hit it well. I could only stand on my left side. Right ankle was impossible to put weight on. Hit the ball better standing on one foot than ever before. Consistent tight draw. Powerful accurate unbelievable results. I played at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch on crutches and wearing a boot for a year. Broke 80 regularly. This is the swing you teach. As the strength returned on the right side I immediately began to do the conventional swing dance and went back to inconsistent sucking again. For years.......but no more. I saw your method and a light came on. I can beat all my cronies now on any day I putt decent. Consistent tight draw. Play from the middle of the fairway and never in trouble. One thing. This swing works awesome, but no good swing will overcome a bad grip. Please tell people to focus on getting thier hands especially the left hand on the club right. Thank you so much Jim Venetos!
Just saying thanks. Work as a ranger a couple of days a week to get free balls and a couple of free rounds. I'm a retired firefighter and have had two back surgeries. Had a great practice today with no pain and had a in you face south Florida wind. Amazing Jim, thanks for helping me play golf again.
I tried it, by the second bucket of balls, i found i could do it. After 3 months i am now hitting the ball straighter, mostly with a draw. At least 20 yards further with my irons. Difficult to club myself as i have to convince myself to take less club. Its a great situation to be in. Not scoring well because you hit it too far. I know its only confidence and time and i will play to a much lower handicap! Thanks jim!!

Came by your videos via stack n tilt. Was at range this am this is an easier swing.. well till you get to longer clubs like you said.. but pw through 7 iron it was a lot of fun hitting draw after draw. But looking at this video I think I had the ball to forward . Will definitely check out online lessons mostly because I'm curious on grip and hitting longer clubs
After a few weeks of working on pre-setting my weight. I go out today and play 9 and shoot a 42....the last 2 holes did me in due to me getting a little quick or rotating too much in the swing. Thanks.
The man is right. If you don’t believe it, put a Callaway Power Platform (door wedge like device) under your trail foot or even just hit chip shots with with your trail heel off the ground. Both of these will place your weight forward and you will instantly see how much better you strike the ball. People ask why pro’s don’t pre-set their weight at address. The simple answer is that they possess great timing, the likes of which us mortals can only dream of. Pre-setting weight and keeping it there through the shot will help the majority of amateurs hit much better shots, play better golf and ultimately enjoy the game more. Try it.
First thank you so much for your videos. I watched them a while ago, tried it, had success, and then like the lame brain I am got attracted by an idea than was more conventional and thus started a road of frustration. I recently found this again went back to the range and was SO pissed! Why did I not stick with this!! I hit the ball so much better and more consistently. What about the upper body? Once that is set in a closed position at address does the upper body freeze in that position until impact? I find hitting from a close shoulder position works for me but not sure how rigid I should be about keeping the same shoulder angle. Maybe one of your videos addresses this? Thank you so much.
That's the whole point of the swing from what I gather the lead shoulder remains closed and still until after impact thus leading to a consistent/predictable low point
I agree with Alec Fortune. I have been on and off doing this swing for years, before I even knew about Jim. I found his channel about a month ago and thought wow. Someone has perfected what I have been trying to do for years. But I can not figure out to get power out this type of swing.
Jim. I have started working with your system for 3 weeks at the range and chipping green. I am starting to see things working for me. I struggle with power but it seems to be coming along. Nice and simplified video, but adjusting weight solely does not fix your swing motion. I am walking proof.

Latif Kaba Your weight will be on your lead foot/leg/side from the pivot he shows. Not a lean, a pivot. 70% or more of your weight should be on your lead side and STAY THERE. Pivot, grip the club then just swing along your position.

being "pre set" makes too much sense. I've coached my kids lacrosse teams from youth ball until high school and club teams. We teach how to be efficient in throwing and shooting motion. Example, with the speed of the lacrosse game, you must be in a position (pre set) to shoot quickly once receiving a proper placed feed. Jim is spot on especially when mentioning anyone with athletic ability should be able to put this together but with traditional golf instruction, you are bombarded with swing thoughts that confuse and waste the time for the recreational golfer.
One thing i dont get of this method.. usually i play with weight on front foot just for short approach shots or of i want to keep a low ball flight. Descending path Is going to be steeper in that way and, with low loft clubs, you are going to play just stinger shots (i never saw a video infact where he shots driver or woods). Plus, it looks like an arms only swing, with low shoulder turn, so i guess distances are going to be pretty short. I guess this method would be pretty consistent from 50 to 120 yards but im not sure It will work for any other parts of the game
Me personally I have lost no distance with my irons with Jim's swing I have only gained more accuracy which can't be a bad thing. However, I am finding it hard to play woods with the swing but I'll keep with it If you go through Jim's back catalogue you will find a couple of videos of him using woods 👍
juanatkins negative. Steep path isn’t created by your weight but by the position of your shoulders. Mine are closed which creates a shallow path. This allows me to hit high tight one irons. Don’t knock til you try it. Your perception isn’t accurate.
@@jimvenetosgolf ok but im not really sure It will work for woods as i said. Generally when i pivot on my left foot i have better contacts, and i see your method simplify a lot the thoughts about the swing ,thats why i would like to make a try with your method. But at the same time i see some incongruence that doesnt make me sure this method can be easily applied by everyone. For sure, i Will give It a try 👍
Your weight stays still for consistent contact, your body is closed for a shallow swing path. Consistent contact plus shallow swing path equals power and control over spin on the ball.
I lost power with this swing. Very simple swing and solid contact but I had no power. Had to look for a coach and go back to the conventional swing. One day when I don't care about power I will come back to this just because of the ease and consistency of the swing but I need power. You are way too constricted in this swing and have no idea what to do with upper body and backswing
You're already set in the backswing all you have to do is lift your arms to complete By losing power do you mean you've lost distance? As all my irons still go the same distance but with tighter dispersion 🤔
Alec Fortune I create big power and all my students that sign up for the school also lose no power or distance. Your experience just means you aren’t executing the swing properly. Sign up for the school and I’ll guide you.
@@jimvenetosgolf my main focus is the long game. If I sign up can we go straight to the driver and longer clubs? I so far can drive 250 meters and worked very hard for that distance and currently working to get more. With your swing I was only getting 150 meters...dead straight, very reliable wonderful stress free swing but no distance and I felt too stiff. But as you said it must be my execution. Will you help me with my driver and longer clubs for better distance?
they re-plant it before the change of direction in backswing, takes more timing and practice, it's a little easier to leave some pressure on your left side
How many baseball pitchers or hitters start on their front foot? How many hockey players slap with their weight on their front foot. Total BS. every person that starts on their lead foot will reverse pivot

I can grasp the whole concept of weight/pressure but can't grasp the bit about closing your body?
Your weight stays still for consistent contact, your body is closed for a shallow swing path. Consistent contact plus shallow swing path equals power and control over spin on the ball.
Jim needs to address the driver
John Klink I do, in my school, sign up and you’ll be addressed. jimvenetosgolfacademy.com
Lookin like Jeffrey Dean Morgan's brother
I lost power with this swing. Very simple swing and solid contact but I had no power. Had to look for a coach and go back to the conventional swing. One day when I don't care about power I will come back to this just because of the ease and consistency of the swing but I need power. You are way too constricted in this swing and have no idea what to do with upper body and backswing
You're already set in the backswing all you have to do is lift your arms to complete
By losing power do you mean you've lost distance?
@@davytee6037 yes I mean I've lost distance. Must be the way I'm doing it...must be wrong.
Alec Fortune yes but how you learn to hit the longer clubs is by first executing the swing with shorter clubs properly. Gotta walk before you run.
I am a true believer in your teaching but what about all the great players that have always lifted their left heel on their backswing?
they re-plant it before the change of direction in backswing, takes more timing and practice,
it's a little easier to leave some pressure on your left side
How many baseball pitchers or hitters start on their front foot? How many hockey players slap with their weight on their front foot. Total BS. every person that starts on their lead foot will reverse pivot
Have you tried the swing bud? Like really gave it a few weeks to learn? If not then give it a go before declaring it as bull shit 😉
Iron Byron doesn't have a back foot. Seems to hit the ball with no problem.
Its that circle created by the club caused by the weight forward and closed shoulders
