Best video I've seen on this topic, should have 1/2 million views. Besides that, all other instructors focus more on the backswing than the release and follow through. Great job
Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate it.
You fixed my 5 years old issue 😅 thanks mate
did a video this morning at range- definite chicken wing action going on- I will try to get the feel of keeping that lead arm elbow in front of my body. I have worked on making sure my club face is square at takeaway and downswing- it is according to slow mo replay of my swing from behind but I do not get the extension of my lead arm by "snapping the right arm over the left after impact. I will work at home on this simple drill and try to condition the body. I am a 8.6 index but should be around a 7- my iron play has been holding back. I have lost about 5-10 yards in distance with the chicken wing. My nine iron is only about 135 yds- when I hit it well it is 145.
It sounds like you're really dialed into the specifics of your swing, which is great. The chicken wing can definitely sap some power and consistency from your shots. Hopefully you can get it under control! Thanks for the comment.
Will definitely be trying this at the range tomorrow! Straight to the point video. Got yourself a new subscriber!
Many Thanks 👍
Watched your video yesterday and went to the range right after diner to practice that drill. IT FIXED EVERYTHING! I have been struggling for 5+ years with my slice, with iron and woods. Yesterday I probably gained 50+ yards, my shots were straight like a post and the whole swing felt way more natural. I cannot thank you enough for this, cant wait to test on the course now!
Wow! So glad to hear that. Keep watching!
what if you have a smaller chicken wing but still hit the ball well?
Same
Being a late bloomer to golf (40+ years starting), the chicken wing has been an arch nemesis. The only good wings are Buffalo wings. This drill is amazing, worked 100% with every club. Thank you for saving my golf game.
Thanks Brian 👍
Also a 40+ late bloomer who absolutely loves the game and I cannot wait to try this drill as my swing is so ugly due to this Chicken Wing effect. Desperate to eradicate it. Thank you Kerrod for an easy to understand explanation and drill. Fingers crossed!
this is one area I struggle with- I am a 7 handicap at my club but would improve if I can eliminate my chicken wing with irons. My driver, chipping and putting keep my scores below 80 but my iron play is average . My GIR run around 33%. I am a club shorter and my misses are right. I am working on ensuring my club face is square coming down but watching video of myself I fold my lead arm just after impact.
Excellent tip. So simple when explained. Many thanks
wow can't believe i just found this video! wish I had seen it earlier!!
Really great to hear!
Many Thanks 👍

Happy to help! Let me know how it goes! 👍
Great video - this worked for me. Thanks!
Happy to help! Thanks for sharing 🙌
Definitely me and can’t fixed em 😭😭
Why not put a club head cover under lead armpit - will that do the same
True! That is another way to fix it 👍
@@kerrodgraygolf ❤️
Thanks I will try that drill
Happy to help! 🙌
top drill coach!
Thanks 👍
Mate ... this is me all over! I’ve gotten to scratch, but I’m still a chopper. My arms have always felt “bunched up” in the follow through and my upper body stalls out. This feeling of “the left arm stays in front of the body” is simplistic in nature and easy as to understand. Just completed around 50 reps in the lounge room and have never felt the “releasing” of the club like this before ... ever!
Cheers Kerrod, can’t wait to work on this tomorrow and finally have a drill/feeling that I can take to the range that’s easy to commit too.
Champion 👍
Great to hear! Let me know how it goes
The right arm pulling the left arm through ? Not sure I understand that. I am right handed
Nice drill. Seems like it could work
It does!
Must try. Keep watching 👍
Did it??? 😂
Finally! I thought I have tried everything to get rid of the dreaded "wing"! This makes so much sense and trying it in the garage with skytrak I can see (video) and feel the right shoulder driving through the ball and the wing is what is fading now! Thank you!
had a good session at the range this morning- video showed I still have early extension which I will work on. I will keep watching and practicing.
Thanks for sharing! Keep it up and let me know how it goes! 🙌
My ball direction is okay but I’m having this chicken wing like problem but still giving me good results. I will try this on the next range ❤
You can do it!
Really enjoying your videos.
Glad to hear it.... Thanks
Great video!!! Can’t wait to try this.

Quick question Kerrod - do you find using sand paper on your golf balls improve your chance of winning?
Simple and easy explanation.. Thanks Sir!
