    When it comes to putting, there are 2 mistakes that I see EVERY SINGLE amateur golfer making. These errors are so common, you’d probable think you already know what they are, but I promise that these are two things you’re just not aware of. However, changing them both will result in a dramatic improvement in your putting skills, and the great news is, they are both REALLY EASY to do.
    In fact, if you commit to doing what I show you for 5 mins a day, for the next two weeks, you will transform your putting from where it currently is, to a completely different level!

    Have to add a second comment.
    I was actually pleasantly surprised that I was pretty good at the first drill of getting the putter head through the two tees. However, the second drill was very enlightening. I could not believe how difficult it was to do it for the first bit and realized how my usual way of looking up instantly after hitting the ball was throwing everything else off kilter. Once again, fantastic information that nobody else is talking about on youtube.

    Thank you Rob. I tried the two tees drill on the putting green today, and combined that with the heads up putting technique from you other video. Wow! The results were fantastic. What a great way to practice your putts.

    Another outstanding video Rob. Hitting the ball in the center and transferring the correct amount of energy to the ball is key.

    I thought I was keeping my head down, but when I had lesson / video taken I was looking up. Holding the finish helped me stop pushing my putts. Great stuff Rob!

    it is true that the putting line on the putter is often inside the line I choose, and I have to consciously align it correctly. I go through a process even on short putts because missing one of those is so painful. I will try gate drill, good enough for Tiger.
    Cheers!

    Thanks Rob. Once again, simple drills that anyone can later - if we only invested the time to do so!

    I passed your test! I have always held my finish, swiveling my head to watch each putt. My putter face contact is usually center-cut. However, my index of 3.1 is due to averaging 32.1 putts per round. My ball striking numbers, which I have kept for a few years, suggest that I should be scratch. I did a SAM Putting lab three years ago and scored well with an efficiency rating of 94%. Why can’t I sink more putts? The only thing left is green reading. Of my 152 rounds so far this year, 140 have been on my home course, so I should be able to read those greens. Any help is welcomed.

    Great video Rob. Very helpful. What do you think about lining the ball up under your dominant eye, as some suggest.

    Good video Rob. Have you ever reviewed the arm lock putter that Bryson uses ?

      I haven’t reviewed one, but coincidentally I tried the LAB arm-lock putter this week and really liked it! Do you like/use an arm-lock putter?

      @@robcheneygolf1 I’m going to give it a try . I like the concept and admire how well Bryson has putted . I also like the “setup4impact “ technique that Bryson uses in his golf swing

      I like the concept. I made a video on it here - "Heads-Up" Putting - The Most Important Putting Video You'll Ever Watch!

    Ben Crenshaw always moved the ball more to teh front when playing fast greens because he could keep the same stroke while taking some of the speed off the ball.

    Do you still put with looking to the hole only? I can‘t see this in the video?

    • @robcheneygolf1
      @robcheneygolf1  8 днів тому +1

      Heads-up putting isn’t something I always do. But I’m certainly a fan of people trying the concept to see if it helps there distance control.

    • @m.m.8497
      @m.m.8497 8 днів тому

      I am trying it. I can confirm that lenght control is easier. Difficult are too long putts, because to risk to loose the face control along the longer way back is increasing. I am thinking to test the Lab Putter or the new PXG Putter. These are always fall back to the target line. These should help head up putting.

    Love your content, after so many superficial youtube lessons I feel following you might actually help.
    Nevertheless… please stop these clickbait titles. It’s so freaking annoying. It feels so needlessly desperate and cheap.Why can’t this just be something elegant like „the art of putting correctly“? Ok maybe these „99% of you are doing this wrong“ title work because people click… but if feels so wrong…
