Why are there no comments thanking Kim for doing everything she could to get his DNA?? She was so brave knowing he could have caught on and being aware of his anger issues and she waited 3 whole months for the opportunity, had she gradually took her eye off the ball sometimes, she would have missed this one chance with the coke can and water cup! She’s so brave and should be proud of herself for being a key to giving Maddy’s family closure finally❤
Thank you Kim!
Agreed. Big up Kim 🎉
Agree!!!! Kim is a literal Angel she was determined to get his DNA to help Mandy get justice and that makes me so happy
I’m just so glad that Mandy’s mother got to see the day of Justice for her daughter.
And the fact it was on her birthday 😩😩 not me crying lol that’s so great❤️
Omg yesss!!!! 🎉💖👑🥰💘
Not the son!
I live up here in Washington, not far from where this all occurred wow
On her birthday!!! I literally cried like a baby
The cop who didn’t give up on this case thank you! We need more like you. ❤️
Him wearing gloves and taking trash HOME he basically told the whole bakery he was a murderer at that point what sane person does that 🤦🏾♀️
I know right!!
reminds me of the idaho case unfortunately.
@@kavakittendid it already get solved?
@@krystalmarin9993 the suspect is in custody and the preliminary hearing is going to happen in late June
Exactly my thoughts....but what a b@stard he was to then say he had a consensual relationship with her....he is a very sick and evil person.
He will get his...
May poor Mandy RIP and prayers for family and friends.
Seeing Mandy’s cute little mother take the stand even after all these years was really a bittersweet moment. I’m so glad she got to put her daughters killer away while she’s still here. Rip Mandy and her brothers Brent and Spencer❤️
It was absolutely beautiful yet definitely bittersweet!!! 🥰🥰🥰
This is why it's so important to keep these cases in the spotlight even if they go unsolved for many many years. This case took 30 years to be solved but the dedication of the detective is amazing. I'm just so happy for her family that they got to see Justice
1. There is so much power in community. 2. Misogyny, even in its ‘tiniest’ form is never harmless and should never go unnoticed. 3. Always trust your gut! Poor Mandy, glad she got justice
"Community" has literally been my word of the year! Unity is so incredibly important in this current generation of violence, loneliness, and depression. This comment needs an award. lol
Depends on what you mean by "misogyny".
@@shahidabdoullakhanzorovr1564 um there is only one meaning of misogyny, so unless you're a misogynist its pretty simple to understand.
istg 90% of murders like this would not happen if misogyny was taken seriously and misogynistic men were viewed as the threats that they are. this is honestly what makes me the angriest ab cases like this. how many women and girls need to die before people stop defending or ignoring men like this.
@@themysticmaam no you just hate men
So much tragedy in one family is heartbreaking. Glad they finally solved Mandy’s case!
Also I LOVE Mandy’s sister saying that she was way way way out of this monsters league. She’s amazing and so glad her sister get the justice she so desperately deserved
Thank you for covering this case Bella! Mandy's murder changed my life and the life of my husband and every other child who went from being carefree running around town with little supervision, at least until the street lights came on. I woke up the morning after the day she went missing and there were hundreds of ppl at the fire department a block down the road as well as more county and state Police than I'd ever seen at one time. At breakfast my grandpa sat down with us and told us Mandy was missing and we weren't to leave the house unless we were in groups of 4 or more and a parent outside with us. You'd think we would be angry about the new lack of freedom, but we were so scared that we welcomed an overprotective parent tagging along with us all the time. The mention of her name would reduce any mature teenager or adult to tears. We were so frustrated with the case going cold. My husband and I were shocked when Whatcom county Sheriff's office did the press release announcing the arrest of that evil POS! Mary was both of my children's bus driver and I remember when I was standing at the bottom of my quarter mile long driveway with my daughter waiting for the bus and Mary very sharply told me that I was never to stand on the road and wait for her because our house is one of like 10 houses and they're all very spread out, so someone could very easily grab me or my daughter and no one would see or hear our cries. I was so busy with an infant and a toddler that I totally didn't think about the danger I could've put myself in. I waited at the bottom of the hill behind a tree after that and Mary would honk and wait for us to walk up the hill and then she sat there while I jogged back down the hill and around the corner where traffic could no longer see me. We had this routine for like 8yrs. Again, thank you for telling Mandy's story! RIP Mandy Stavic forever young beautiful and in all our hearts! 💜
thank you for sharing that routine you had with Mary. sounds like she took all of the kids under her wing to protect them once she lost so many of her own 🖤
Can’t believe the German Shepard came back home alone. Wonder what she saw to be cowering and tail between her legs. Poor baby 😢
It's a dog, a canine, a carnivore, a domesticated predator, not a baby.
@@shahidabdoullakhanzorovr1564 oh get a life loser
German shepherds are supposed to be protection dogs, which is why a lot of people own them. Some protection dog
Yeah poor "baby"... you're talking about the victim, right??? There's always that one... I mean what is a young human life compared to a scared dog??? Gosh some of you😕😕😕
y’all really on here hating on a DOG!?!?!! pls get one heart i beg
When you’re at the point that you use gloves every time you touch something even in public, and take everything home to make sure no one can get your dna, you’re so very obviously guilty. No one is gonna do that unless they know they’re guilty
The detective who worked on her case for all those years is a hero. I hope justice come to all scumbags like him.
Kudos to the police for having enough training to get DNA evidence
I agree! I'm impressed that the officer who'd found her body had gone to special training to preserve DNA evidence. Probably made all the difference
Thankfully Mandy’s Mom lived long enough to see justice be served for her daughter. 💗 Rest in peace Mandy. 💞
Woman’s intuition is crazy. The way we can put shit together from almost nothing is crazy and it either me 100% right or just barley wrong. It’s fr crazy I amaze myself with it sometimes
so real. i fully believe it is a survival mechanism that has been passed on from generation to generation. sometimes, i will be out in public and just get a FEELING about a man around me. i always listen to it.
I agree with you. I think lack of balls resulted in this intuition mechanism.
You're delusional.
Wow this is why you never give up! So happy the family has justice 💓
Can we appreciate how beautiful Mandy was!! Such a sad case. I definitely think it was premeditated but I can understand as Bella said they couldn’t be sure as they didn’t want to put it in the sentencing just in case it went through a mistrial or worse he wouldn’t get sentenced at all.
Everyone of God's children are beautiful. You seem to be very superficial. I am so glad that he was caught. Guilty as charged. It is too bad they can't put animals like him in a cage for the rest of their lives and feed them just bread and water, or put them on a work gang etc.
@@JesusismyRock773 what I’m hearing from you is: don’t call Mandy beautiful and I support unethical prison conditions. cool
@@dogpolice maybe get hearing aid then idk
@@dogpoliceI’m sorry but some people do deserve “unethical prison conditions”.
I’ve watched your channel for years! I live in this town and it’s so crazy to hear of all the places I’ve been. RIP Mandy, and thank you for covering this case!
I'm kind of disgusted by the whole community tbh. The only reason Tim got away with it is because so many people protected him. The police never investigated him because his family had a good reputation, 2 women who were sexually harassed by him never spoke up, his wife lied for him, his mom was willing to lie for him, his boss' first reaction was to say it was above her paygrade, the HR department at his workplace demanded a warrant... And most of these people knew Tim was a misogynistic creep, it's gross that they protected him for 30 years.
Exactly my thoughts the community failed her
well to be fair it’s not like cops or ppl for that matter take misogyny seriously. also let’s not blame the victims here
Dont blame and suggest his other victims “protected him” society creates the culture of victims being scared to come forward or feeling like it was pointless
your comment is so ignorant
Idk his boss is the one who got his DNA i understand her being hesitant at first because you can get sued pretty quickly for doing certain stuff the wrong way or imprisioned
I KNEW this name was familiar!!! I went to undergrad at a university in Bellingham, WA and wrote about Mandy for one of my articles - a wild case and so close to home. Thanks for the video Bella!
I grew up in Sudden Valley and I never heard about this case until now. Insanity!
This is incredible. Just goes to show what can be achieved if the investigators never give up.
This was just so sad I’m glad Mandy and her family finally got a small piece of justice. I just absolutely hate that this guy got to be free and live his life for the next thirty years. These kinds of cases always hit me some kind of way.
Imagine his mum getting on the stand and saying ‘there’s no evidence’. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour knowing the pain her child has put another mother through
It wouldn't be unusual for such a small town to have only one high school. I was born and raised in Spalding County, Georgia, and at the time I went to high school, the population was about 42,000 -ish. We only had one high school for all the county. It was in the biggest classification at that time: AAAA, and thus we were able to compete for the top football state championship because of our size. I went to school with loads of kids I don't even and probably never heard their names spoken. But the point is, if you spoke to anyone my age or older from that area, they would ALL say they had been to the same high school. These days, they have a city high school and a county one, so 2 high schools, but forever before that it was just one.
Same for my town, one school, Preschool to Highschool in one building.
Maybe it's just weird to Aussies? I'm from a small town in NSW, Australia. Population of about 11 000 and we have 2 high schools, 3 primary schools and a heap of different daycare/preschools. Plus there's seperate schools for other religions like Plymouth Brethren.
@@JustKelso1993 Same here, but my town had a separate building for 6th grade and below. They were right next to each other and we all used the same cafeteria.
My town currently has one high school. Three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
Baker is a 1A, it’s one of the largest districts in WA, NOT in students but in the area that’s in the district
He’s definitely guilty. He just says he’s innocent to try and get away with it because Mandy can’t be here to speak/defend for herself so I think he thinks he’s in control of the story as the only person that knows what happened. His reaction when they got his dna and the fact he didn’t throw anything away in public so police wouldn’t get his dna, his reaction first hearing her name when the police came to question him, suddenly out of nowhere saying that they were in a relationship, how he treats women, etc to me big red flags
It’s cracks me up every time Bella is surprised that they all went to the same high school lol she said that the population was only like 300. I’m sure that was the only high school
My exact thought 😂
Bellas energy is unmatchable. So happy and upbeat always lol. I'm jelly
Baker isn’t just acme there’s multiple towns/cities in the district, but it’s a very tight knit community, everyone pretty much knows everyone. This case hit so hard in the whole county not just Baker. I remember my family talking about it when it was finally solved (my first time hearing about it) I’m so glad this case is finally getting the attention it deserves, I would recommend watching the 2020 episode if you haven’t it goes into better detail and has interviews with a lot of important people in the case/her life
I think it’s really important to hear her loved ones talk about her on the 2020 episode and hear how much they still love her. Everyone in the community loved her, even us kids who hear about it today bc our parents knew her/of her and it broke their hearts. The band teacher kept a photo of her up in his class (although he recently retired) I’d look at it every time I was in that room
I'm amazed how many eastern whatcom county ppl are in these comments! I guess it's because this was by far the worst thing that happened to us 80's kids in Acme.
I lived in Acme in 89, my step-dad was all freaked out about going to the clipper store because the sketch of the suspect kinda looked like him. I remember when they finally solved the case. I was so happy when they found him 30 yrs later! RIP Mandy
I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 10 years and haven’t heard of this case. I’m glad to learn of it finally. Also WOW! It was a mind scramble to hear all these places I’ve been to and even live in this story
Breaks my heart that Mandy’s mom got to 81 years old and was sure she’d never see justice for her daughter.
But I’m glad she got the birthday present she did.
ALSO, thinking of moms, Tim’s mom raving on about how smart he was and that he went to college. And yet he was a delivery man.
Not making light of delivery drivers, as they are definitely essential, but all his smarts and attending college should’ve got him a much better job, I’d think.
I wonder did they think to ask Tim’s brother or father for a dna sample when he was refusing… surely that would have helped toward a warrant
Washingtonian here and long time follower.
There are way too many murders in Washington.
I'm from Thurston county. I'm surprised at how many currently happen now.
Thank you Bella for all you do!
I remember watching an interview with this wonderful lady! Thank goodness she was so brave and followed her gut!
I’ve just gotten to the beach, chillin here by myself, 38 weeks pregnant, relaxing and listening to Bella 😌💛
Sounds like bliss 🥰 I hope you have a safe birth 💗 Is that weird to say? Just a mother love to another mother/mother to be 🤣💗xxx
Awe, CONGRATULATIONS! Enjoy the last couple of weeks! Relish every moment! As a Mom to six, I absolutely loved each minute being pregnant. Truly a miracle and such a blessing! Take care of yourself and new baby!
Congrats and all the best for the future 🎉
Sounds beautiful!!! Good luck to you and little one 💚
Aaawwww that sounds so lovely 😍 hope u enjoyed your relaxing day momma💙 congrats on the new baby
What I've realised from binge watching criminal cases is that death always comes to those who "light up any room they enter" so I will continue to be antisocial, sarcastic and suck up all the happiness in any room.... for my own safety!
Lol good plan I'll do the same
😂
Preach random internet stranger.
hey bella, would you ever do a series on unsolved cases you’ve covered before that are now solved?
well at least the third lady at the water park had the guts to go to police ad didn't just sit around with the knowledge of knowing who killed someone and just kept it to herself all that time. wow. They could have spoken up long before they did, that's just sad. I'm so glad someone finally went to the police.
They didn't KNOW anything, they had a feeling due to his creepiness. The police will barely take a case of assault where things go further than those two incidents seriously today, there's no way they would have been concerned 30 years ago...the cops didn't even bother to question her neighbours about seeing her/their relationship with her, speaking up would have done nothing positive.
@@pixieyla are you serious? Because the speaking up 30 years later is what got him arrested. You seriously gonna stand there and say speaking up would have done nothing 30 years ago??? Are you aware how cases work and gathering evidence works and interrogations etc…? Speaking up is how cases get solved. Which is how this one was finally solved because someone was finally willing to go to police- she spoke up. You’re literally arguing not to do something when that something is what got this case solved and should have gotten it solved all those years ago. They themselves are the ones who said “ I know who killed her” so don’t tell me in caps they didn’t know. I’m repeating what they said and it was in fact him so I don’t know what you’re even on about.
@@Makeuploveculture I'm not saying they shouldn't have gone to the police. at all. But you can't seriously tell me that you haven't seen about a hundred cases where victims go to the police and they do nothing. They didn't KNOW anything, they had suspicions, and yeah, I wish they had gone to the police, but there's a huge chance that nothing would have been done, like many assault cases.
@@pixieyla You're speaking about entirely different situations. In Mandy's case police were ASKING & even offering a reward for tips & were following the leads that they got via those tips. If these women had called anonymously & told them to look into Tim, police would have looked into it. They didn't before because there seemed to be no connection between Mandy & Tim. If the women had pointed at him, the police would have noticed that Tim's home was on her jogging route & that he could be a suspect.
Such a sad situation but so thankful her mother got answers. So many families never get answers, especially older family members.
Hey Bella!! Was just sitting down with my coffee when I seen you uploaded!! Impeccable Timing!! 🤗
The Jaycee Lee Dugard case would be a great video idea. I’ve read her book probably 3 times and I don’t even enjoy reading. Definitely one of the scariest cases I have come across, i would love to hear your take on her story.
Me too!
definitely curious now, hope bella makes a video covering this case
I grew up in this community, on the road this all happened I am so glad you covered it! Her mother I a sweet lady who used to drive my school bus and I can only imagine the relief Mandys family felt when this was solved.
Someone else mentioned her mom was her kids' bus driver in the comments. They said shes a nice lady
"this defense attorney seemed like a douche" i'm HOWLING
so well done as always!! also appreciating the bill and ben the flowerpot men reference very much
Kudos to the detective who didnt give up. ♥️
Bella!! You don’t know how bad I needed this!! 😭😭 I had such a rough weekend
I hope your doing better 🤍
Hope u are doing better now love🥺
I always skip ads but I genuinely enjoy watching your ad reads so pop off queen 💅🏻
ugh gross at him saying they had a consensual + secret relationship like gtfo mate, what a creep
Just to add....
Kudos 👏 to all the people from the start of the case 28yrs ago that came out of retirement and/or did everything they could to ensure that Mandy and Mandy's family got justice, an extra big kudos to the prosecutor who also came out of retirement at 73 just to prosecute this case and for free, just shows how important and how much Mandy meant to each and every one of these people.
So often I see/hear and read of epically horrific police work, uncompassionate 911 operators, terrible failures from prosecutors and judges with no balls to punish, and giving leniency to violent criminals and repeat offenders, so good on all of them, only wish it was like this for all cases.
There is a special place in hell for this POS that's extra hot and nice and crispy, in the meantime I hope he drops the soap OFTEN, good riddance.
Amen to that.
This is insane. I grew up in Sudden Valley about thirty minutes from Acme, and I've never heard of this case despite the fact that my parents actually moved there around the same year it took place.
so excited to watch your video before i head off to classes for the day ! much love bella 😌🫶🏻
My friend’s dad works at Clallam Bay where Tim Bass is. He says if the prisoners are really good, they are allowed to adopt a cat.

bella i would love it if u covered the case of the Wichita Massacre. unlike most cases ive heard, it's a case that I can never forget and it has forever stuck with me bc of the absolute terror the victims went through. i get extremely emotional every time i read about it.
Love love love your videos Bella! Somehow I always find my way back to your crime videos, they are the best.
I watched this episode on 48hrs a few weeks back, so, when you started talking about it now, I was like, "I know this case!" Lol
You gave more details about some of the laws that hold people back during an investigation. A lot of embellishments are made for a TV show. Good jon. 👏🏽
thank you Bella, i was having a terrible start to my day but now it will be slightly better
Hello Bella, love all your videos, especially the solved case ones.
thank you angel 🫶🏼
Omg I didn’t know you moved to the UK! Welcome, I am in UK up in Scotland but will be in London soon for training for my new job with British airways for cabin crew, that’ll be my base so I’ll have a long commute but I’m looking forward to it.
I’m glad the case got solved.
Most small towns only have one high school, which it’s why it seems like everyone involved in this case and from the same town, all went to the same high school.
Love these! Always so sad though:( hoping you’re loving england😌
Happy that her mother survived long enough to see some resolution. It is just too bad this monster lived free for so long, and can get out in the future.
When will mothers stop protecting their dropkick sons! It's sickening. She should be charged with perjury; she doesn't have the rights of a spouse.
So, Glad Mandy and her loved ones finally got some sort of justice. That poor family losing three children under such tragic circumstances. I hope the cops revisit the brother's case; it couldn't be anything other than foul play.
Yaaay an upload just in time for a bedtime story ❤
I’m so happy the family finally got an answer to who did it.
Glad Mandy’s mother was able to know and get justice. This case could’ve been solved so quickly If they just spoke up and didn’t lie. I get they were scared but they didn’t even try years later. Upsetting. RIP Mandy

I went to church with her mom growing up 😢. I didn’t know her story but I knew she always had a sadness about her
God rest her soul. I’m so glad she got Justice. That animal thought he was going to get away with what he did to her. And then tried to lie and say he was in a relationship with her. What a complete POS.

This guy was so sketchy, what a scumbag! Glad she and her family finally got justice. Cheers Bella - hope Mia is ok without you? Bet you both are missing each other like crazy - you have such a lovely relationship.
sad that his mother lied to protect him. he's a killer. she's in denial.
Right? Really weird mamas boy energy. I don’t get how she was the ONLY person who could stand by him - at the very least not even recognise how misogynistic and creepy he was.
