I used to play on that beach 60 years ago aged 5 while visiting my grandfather and grand mother. I am returning in the Spring to scatter my mums ashes as she had this beach and others around as her play ground. Haste ye back.
Murray, you do not have to be told, that is the best UA-cam video uploaded by yourself, thank you for your time filming and, editing your adventures, especially this one with your family, please wear those pink shorts on every summit in 2025.
Heartfelt thanks Murray - and also to your family - for sharing this beautiful adventure. These videos are food for the soul and have no doubt uplifted and inspired all who watched them during this Christmas period.
Once again Murray, stunning photos and videography ( is that a word ? ) and as for the drone shots - - -. Well done, we're all loving your vlogs done here in the Highlands of Norfolk - - -.
Wowww Murray, Harris is very very special to me and this series of videos just fuelled my motivation to return soon. Thankyou once again for your stunning work xx
Absolutely sublime! I walked from Glenfinnan to The Old Forge in Inverie at the same time this year and an anticlimax it was NOT!! Lovely to know you were enjoying the same weather at the same time. In Inverie they actually said it was probably the best weather they had had all summer. It does make a difference. Thanks for the film and upload
I can't believe the fantastic weather you had up there. People pay massive sums to fly thousands of miles and not experience even half of the beauty you've filmed for us all. I've only watched your videos over Christmas. The rest is frankly, too depressing. We spent Christmas in Assynt. Harris is definitely on my bucket list now!! Thank you for sharing what was some of the most spectacular scenery ever and all that sun and heat! Beautiful.
So lovely to see this video of an area I know well and visit most years, witnessing many changes. You had some lovely weather towards the end of your stay. I was last there in October 2023, staying at Rodel. We had 2 perfect days, sunny warm and still, so climbed Roineabhal and walked the track towards Strond, but afterwards days of gales. Hope to back this spring.
I so look forward to your videos, Murray! They are exceptional in the way that they show us all the magnificence of 'Scotland's Mountains', beachs, lochs and countryside! Keep going on and on Murray! 😊
And as it turns out, Scotland's Beaches are as good as Scotland's Mountains 😃 Another great video with beautiful photos, one day I will get myself to the Hebrides...
Another great video Murray. It’s nice seeing the beaches as well as the mountains. Thanks for sharing your adventures. (Maybe get Jerry a matching pair of those stylish, pink shorts!)
Lovely to see Harris. We went with friends, especially to go to St Kilda. It coincided with my 60th birthday. Luskentyre beach after climbing the hills. Clisham the next day. We stayed at Horgabost. The best birthday. Thanks Murray for the beautiful video xx
Wow absolutely stunning it don’t get much better than that, I think it must of been one of those days when you just feel lucky to be alive. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Lol way to go Leanne! This is the kind of day you just want to soak up in your bones. My gosh those views and the water, but besides that the incredible patterns in the sand are hypnotic. I showed my husband David and it got a wow from him too. Favorite pic is of the three of you, thanks Murray for all the hard work of putting all of this together and allowing us to be a small part of y'all's vacation. Oh and love paddle boarding, have fun with your new toy 👋
Thanks Kristin - it was an amazing day and the sunset was a great way to end the perfect day - a short spell of decent weather in 2024! Thanks for watching and Happy New Year Murray
Fantastic set of videos from the wonderful Outer Hebrides. You’ve reinforced my desire to get back there again soon. Keep up the great work Murray. PS: Had they run out of Scotch Eggs on Harris?😢
Brilliant video (nothing new there). Must try to get our reactive dog there, empty beaches, lots of space, it would be perfect. Never thought you could see St Kilda, assumed it was too far out, my favourite Saint. Fascinating story about the former residents.
This is an absolutely stunning part of the country. That photo of you guys looking out over the sun setting over St.Kilda has to be one for framing in the house-it's just beautiful!
A video with everything there, amazing scenery ,beaches, weather, and precious family memories, all you needed was leanne's outlander attempt to work to finish it off.all photos were great but the sunset ones were my favourites
Oh my goodness, what wonderful beaches there. Thank you for taking time out to film on your holiday, you couldn't have been more lucky with the weather, fantastic. What lovely memories youve made as a family. Thanks again.....Alioban 💖
yes, Scarista beach is amazing plus lovely images you got of the detail in the sand especially from the drone shots. I've booked, in the past, for the St Kilda trip but cancelled due to weather! Last year I managed a landing trip to Taransay which was interesting! (Maybe visit Tiree next for more amazing beaches-it's completely flat but the beaches are awesome! 😀)
The drone footage gives such a different perspective absolutely incredibly beautiful. I'm sure I'm going to stick with the kayak lol, can't see me on a paddle board!!! Beautiful moments with the family "priceless"
What a fantastic day that looked. Watching from Glasgow with 45 mph winds and the rain battering down wishing UA-cam had a Scotty from Star Trek beam me up function 🤣
Harris, absolutely beautiful. I think when you revisit to do Lewis the beaches will blow you away there too. Uig is just wow. Another cracking video Murray (& Co). As for the picture, the sunset is #1, all.day, everyday. Mountains, beaches, sea, sun and no flaring, which isn't always easy to avoid. Great work.
Caught up with all the videos now. Festive period has been mental. I took my board a couple of years ago and paddled around camasdurach bay with eigg and rum as a backdrop and I remember saying then that you’ll not get much better place to go, however I can safely say you manage that. Loved this series so far. Brilliant Murray. Been like going on holiday to Harris while looking out the window to clag and rain. ATVB for 2025 when it comes. Cheers Robert
I have to say the photo with the family looking at the sunset is my favourite All that’s missing is the palm trees as it really looks very tropical ..where's is everyone ? Is it busy in July? It looks like it’s been kept natural without a bunch restaurants etc Well done 🇨🇦❤️
Thank you Mr, Mrs & Master Mountains. Another lovely view into family life... Perfect videos to whet the whistle for hopefully what will be an early spring revisit to the Hebridean Islands. I very much look forward to the final installment tomorrow 😎😎. Ps. I'll leave more experienced viewers to comment on your paddle boarding efforts.. Least to say you didn't sell it to me.. 😉
Hahaha brilliant fall. You lived it! I swam in that beach, unfortunatly the sauna was fully booked cuz I've done that before in and out of the sea to a sauna and it's amazing. I saw that stone but had already been to the other stones in Uist so I was sick of stones by that point 😅. Seriosly gonna go back in 2025 and bag that Corbett. Shorts and grant 🤣🤣🙏 rock on. Murry, com'on I've lived on the West Coast of Scotland......those opening shots....Blue, sky, golden sands, turquoise sea...Caribbean, Australia....can't be the Outer Hebrides......😂😂😂 wow... Now't wrong with pink shorts.... The drone footage is brilliant, as was all the photos and the sunset....breathtaking. I enjoy all your videos, but this series of videos is fabulous. Throughly enjoyed all of these... Thank you....makes me want to get there soon.
I've been to Lyskentyre and Sacristan. Both incredibly stunning..,..but take a look at Keem Bay on Achill Island, Ireland before deciding.... Smaller than both of the above but the surroundings edge it......

Wow Murray and Leanne, thank you for letting us crash your amazing holiday!! Murray I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that some day soon you will announce a publishing deal for a Scotlands Mountains photo book.
Shoulder season was the lucky charm for you. What a memorable few days of outstanding weather! My favorite photo is of the three of you silhouetted on the mountain at sunset. A great memento of the vacation. Cheers, and ATB!
Another fabulous video and a fitting tribute to that incredible coastline and the beaches. I've been on a boat off that coastline around the islands of Scarp and Taransay as well, which are equally amazing. I know what you mean about the colours - everything seems so much more vivid. And I wonder if the empty beaches might be to do with the pink shorts... just saying! 🤣
iNCREDIBLE - was this recently or in summer? wonderful footage which has given me hope in this dreary winter! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year when it comes !
Just shows how much enjoyment you can have even when away from the mountains ! Yes Harris is very special, along with Rum, South Uist, Jura, Skye, Mull and St Kilda. Lovely beaches - all to yourself - in the Orkney Isles too. Thanks for all the superb videos. ATB
Another amazing video, Murray. I would love to take my family to see these beaches but only if you can guarantee the glorious weather. My favourite photo is the black and white one.
its almost just as nice in bad weather TBH a brutal beauty on these beaches when the wind howls - however I was glad to see this weather!!lol Thanks for watching and Happy New Year Murray
What a wonderful series on a very special place. You had it all there: sun, sandy beaches, aquamarine waters and hills to climb. Thanks for sharing your holiday with your family. 🫶
Wow what weather! You guys completely deserve the luck of having that weather too... I have the itch to go back in the summer now. You look to have missed my favourite beach which is a long long single track rd drive but well worth it. Huisinis Beach is amazing. Have very happy memories of swimming there with a couple of Dolphins porpoising further out while we were in the water.
we certainly lucked out with the weather and it was so nice to hgave these beaches to ourselves - cant wait to return to Harris :) Thanks for watching and Happy New Year Murray
Superb filming as usual Murray. Boy how lucky did you get with that weather? I was blown away by Harris when I visited a couple of years ago. We saw so much, but not everything, clearly. I recognise the area where Scarista beach is, as we stopped and had pictures taken by Harris Golf Club, but we didn't go to the beach. We actually camped @ Horgabost and made the obligatory visit to Luskintyre. One day I'll maybe even get to St Kilda. Have you been Murray?
never been to st kilda - I did have a trip booked a few years agao but it was cancelled as they knackered their brand new boat the day before we were due to sail as they didnt realise thier new rudder was deeper!!lol Thanks for watching and Happy New Year Murray
Thanks Murray. Like you, was blown-away when first set eyes on Scarista and it's rolling waves. Travelling southward, rounded the corner (near golf course) and it was suddenly there. After passing the Luskentyre sands, you think it can't better - There was basking shark fin (13:50) at sunset sequence ??
thanks George - agreed - Scarista bay is amazing - certainly the best beach I have ever visited in the world Thanks for watching and Happy New Year Murray
A wee tip for you with electronics carry a zip lock bag with rice in it if your cameras etc get soaked put them in the bag of rice it help remove the dampness from cards and devices .
Wow! What stunning beaches.. you certainly chose a very special part of Scotland to holiday. Outstanding photography. Perfect timing capturing such an amazing sunset. Thanks to you and your family for sharing. It's new years eve here in NZ. So I would like to wish you and your family a very happy and healthy 2025.
thanks Bryce - hard to beat the Hebrides for sure and we hit the weather jackpot!! Thanks for watching and Happy New Year MurrayThanks for watching and Happy New Year Murray
You were so lucky with the weather, I worked on south uist years back and that was the eye-opener was the beaches absolutely beautiful on our own doorstep, thanks for the vlog as usual quality film making, have a great New year to you and yours Murray ATB 👏👏🙏🖖
Such a super series of videos, thank you for sharing your time whilst on your holiday! I've never been to Harris but will definitely make the time to go to enjoy this beautiful place ☺
Working my way through your videos in preparation for a family visit in July. Really enjoying them. Thank you! What is the name of the rental cottage you show in this series?
Phenomenal video Murray! Thank you so very much! I so long to visit but it’s a massive drive from London. What’s the easiest way to get to Harris with car from Glasgow? Can I get a ferry from Oban? Cheers Chris
Really enjoying your Outer Hebrides series which brings back great memories of a trip we made to there back in 2022. Pity about the foggy weather at the start of the trip. If you want to see what you missed (lets look at what you could have won!) have a quick look at this, part 3 of a 5 part series of our trip.ua-cam.com/video/bT9GgQSPPDM/v-deo.html Looking forward following your adventures in 2025. Happy New Year to you.
I used to play on that beach 60 years ago aged 5 while visiting my grandfather and grand mother. I am returning in the Spring to scatter my mums ashes as she had this beach and others around as her play ground.

Stunning mate 🤩 …When was this filmed?
Hi - it was September 🙏👍
Working my way through your videos in preparation for a family visit in July. Really enjoying them. Thank you! What is the name of the rental cottage you show in this series?
Phenomenal video Murray! Thank you so very much! I so long to visit but it’s a massive drive from London. What’s the easiest way to get to Harris with car from Glasgow? Can I get a ferry from Oban? Cheers Chris
I think the ferry is from Ullapool to Stornaway or uig to Tarbet (I think there is one from oban tk Barra perhaps ?
We’ll worth a trip 👌👍
@@ScotlandsMountains can’t wait to give it a go!!
