For streets downtown leading to and from highways, such as 10th and 11th to/from the 163, the car traffic is not slow with a lot of people running red lights also.
With all of the attention on the new bike lane, it took me almost 5 minutes into the video to realize, "Wait, there's a legit sidewalk there now, too!" I had to run the video back just to gaze at the fresh concrete.
i live in this area, what i usially do is go the wrong way on the bike lane then ride in the road up b st, or ride teh correct way on c st to 6th, then go up to beech or down to j, its really nice but that intersection is just weird ive been loving pershing, having direct acces to southpark and northpark by bike is amazing. its a great shortcut to get around the city
I'm not a fan of riding salmon in the bike lanes, but do what makes you feel safe! Personally, this design works just fine for me, but the blocks around C st could certain use more design to complete the network.
Would love to see a concrete barrier in place of a curb. The curb alone wont stop a distracted driver from driving right over it, verus a concrete barrier, which you obviously can't drive over.
I hear what you're saying on that. But with this installation, making the road a single lane in each direction, it goes a long way to reduce the drivers' speeds, making jumping the low barrier far less likely.

Sorry I didn't mention that! Yes, this is a magical connection between Uptown and the Downtown area for everyone who doesn't want to use a car.

@RidingBikesinSanDiego agreed, issue is i ride up park alot so have no real option. The design is just bad and needs fixed
I prefer riding up park to down it, and they've made some really excellent improvements to that! Those videos are on my channel somewhere...

I managed to get a free bike, but it was a nice one, not a beater and I'm serious, they gave it away.
I love my beater, but you can't beat getting a good deal on a nice bike!
