Not often you get to use the 'Light Blue' on an Armoured Car.
But looks like a very Tricky kit
for someone who has 'Early onset Parkinsons.!'
Although some Days are less Wobbly than others. So a Case of 'Picking your Battles.!' ( Days.!)
    Good Reveiw/Build Andy..!
    Cheers kim in Oz. 😎

Thank you for your ever cheerful builds Andy. This one is particularly close to my heart. My grandfather was a driver of this very vehicle in The Royal Wessex Yeomanry, just after they'd converted from horses to the Rolls Royce armoured car in the early 1920s. Ever after, his little joke was that he'd learned to drive in a Rolls Royce 🙂

I saw one of these at Tankfest 2014 at Bovington here in the UK. I thought they had just rolled it down the slope into the tank arena because there was no sound, but then it drove off. It was the Rolls Royce engineering, it made hardly any noise - I guess it must have been the world's first stealth AFV.

Great jobb, Andy. As you say, that is one gorgeous looking vehicle! It just cannot disguise the fact that it is a Rolls Royce. I believe Lawrence of Arabia made use of one of these from time to time.

you see them in the movie. the armoured cars didn't have much use on the Western Front but were used extensively in the Middle East and in Britain's Empire for police duties. ones operated by the RAF Regiment served in Iraq and Tran-Jordan 'in the inter-war years.

Another excellent build video by Andy. Was in your store on Monday and as always, a great experience with great conversation with Andy. His store not only offers a great selection of models and hobby tools, it’s now become an excellent museum of Andy’s work. Highly recommend a visit to his store.

I've always had something of a secret fondness for this era and kind of vehicle. So many countries did their unique takes on what an armored car should be. When I started modeling in the 1960s there just weren't kits like this on the market but now, the choices are staggering.
Nice build, can't wait for the next one.

Great to see the love given to what would have once been obscure WW1-era vehicles!
Just on the skinny/roll-over thing - they might have been skinny, but for the most part they drove much more slowly (esp ones like the 'bus when loaded), weight was still fairly low down, but possibly most of all because the tyres back then would be more inclined to slide than to grip, especially on non-paved roads. But yes, they could fall over if the wrong circumstances arose.

    Great video Andy.
Built the 1914 RNAS version last Christmas and apart from the fragile headlight brackets, it was a great build. I used Tamiya clear yellow inside the front headlights and it gave a great effect.
Looking forward to the Miniart armoured car build

Andy, very nice build of an unusual subject. I find a couple of blobs of blu tack are useful for holding photo etch off the workbench while attaching other parts. This prevents gluing everything to the said bench! Not quite as good as having three hands would be, which usually seems to be necessary when working with PE.

The Lanchester Armoured car from Copper State is somewhat like this, but with a sexy sloping bonnet - it was lighter and faster than the RR.
ALSO - Nice use of John Cage's '4:33' for the musical interlude sections... ;)

Hi Andy, I once had the opportunity to ride on the one belonging to the tank museum at Bovington England , it was a fantastic experience. I seem to remember that the wheels were covered with a conical cover to protect the spokes from damage. Apart from that it is exactly the same as your model except that it was painted a dark green.

Love the look of this model. Quick question, I'm starting out and wondering if I should use BSI super glue or tamiya extra thin on plastic models like you are. Wondering if there's a reason you use plastic cement over super glue. I think plastic cement might make stronger bond but is it more fragile or take longer to dry. Just wondering and again great video

Blue turret looks great, its similar to "Service Blue," a naval color used by the British in Early WW1. They used naval colors at first because the armored forces actually came out of the Navy's "Landship Commission." I think your idea about the blue matching the horizon is probably true too.
