If your interested in getting your own Minerva the link to CSM store is in the video description, the same with VMS !
Cheers.. Nice looking kit.. 👍👍
Hi James, this is the first time I've ever seen a Copper State kit and they do look to be top quality, as are your building and painting abilities, a truly lovely model. Thanks for sharing this with us, I'm now off to watch your other 1st World War Copper State builds as I appear to have become a bit hooked on them.
Thanks again, my regards...
leather seat textures is ace, as is whole model build paint job!
Thanks 'o Magnificent Mackrel ! Im thinking about a leather tutorial for a quick video
I am in the process of building a Minerva, and please accept my thanks for this informative, educational and well done video.
"The instructions are something other manufactures can take note of." LOOKING AT YOU DRAGON!!!
I'm from Belgium. I know of the Belgian car brand Minerva, but I had never seen a war version. Thanks.
Great job. I'm loving the WWI builds. I'm fascinated by the raw nature of the machines they used and how fast technology progressed in just 30 years from the beginning of WWI through the end of WWII.
Finally !! Some one who realizes a pure Black (pin) wash is NOT the way to go. I'm a big fan now!! Thank You and I hope other modelers hear you and take heed. I love the adding of dark blue. It tells me you are astute at color mixing which is something I am well familiar with in my day job. Kudos you smart man. Cheers
Many thanks ! I work with paint regularly and have dabbled in art painting (badly) but enjoy the theory aspect.
You see black a lot and its just too dark and lifeless when there are so many other options ! Cheers again
Your attention to detail is remarkable.
Thanks Kevin!
This looks really fantastic. The leather seat painting and weathering is state of the art. Keep going....
Thanks Loken
Bodywork, the cab floor, & that leather seat are superb. Reminds me of the problems I had with a LCM(3) (RN) - rust, oil, tide marks & puke.
Yum yum!
Thanks mate !
WOW! Proud Arizonian here.
Waauw, another reason to be proud to be a belgian... Amazing build! You are a real master. Watching your builds give me a boost to keep on modeling and try 'advanced' techniques. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Matsi1944 ! You guys were ahead of the curve when this one fielded early in the war, thankyou for watching !
I keep hearing good sable brushes are the best. I believe that, because my go to, cheap sables are better than the synthetics, but I pucker a bit just picking up the good ones in the store because just one costs more than the five piece set of cheap sables I tend to buy.
I like the lead wire, but I found the individual strands from the core of 250 cord is excellent for 1/35 tie down rope, and thread for hemp rope/twine, because the thread has the little “hairs” throughout the length just like hemp line and you can get it in whatever color you need so you don’t have to paint it and risk loosing the “texture”.
Great build. I learned a thing or two. Thanks for sharing your work. 👍👍
I love these WW1 builds. Thank you for the information on the brushes.
You're welcome Wade 😊
Great build on this wonderful model...Thumbs up!
Your skills are extra-ordinary and a delight to the observer...I use them to wind down and remember when I was a boy making models with my Father.
Awesome build, the leather effect on the seats look amazing. Thanks for that I have to try it....
Thanks Tony !
Half an hour or so of pure joy. Many thanks :-)
Very kind thankyou Richard !
Awesome job James!
Many thanks Raphael
Watching a video of this kind of superb skills can have different effects.
If you've never built a model in your life, you think "AH! So this is how it's done, this is what I'm going to do too, and it will come out soooo good..."
If you dabble in kit building yourself and you see this, you may think "NO WAY - I can't ever ever reach this level, so goodbye model kits, I'll take up the mandolin or learn French or subscribe to a yoga course or..."
Or, maybe, you watch it a couple of times and think "ah, maybe if I give this a try, it'll improve things."
That is the path I have chosen. Let's see how that works!
Thanks a lot for not only showing how you do this, but also telling what exactly it is we see happening, and why you do things this way. I still think I couldn't reach this level if my life depended on it, but it helps me getting better!
Thats a great attitude ! I only got to my level with lots of practice and trying new things, it's very achievable if you take your time to learn the methods, and how the paint interacts with itself and subsequent layers.
Good luck man !
Oooooooofffffff.....that’s a stunner of a build James! That seat 👌.....and the ammo shader work really does make a difference....
Thanks Steve, I was dubious about the ammo shaded but it worked nicely, took a bit of practice to lay it down right, it favours extremely light coats.
If you have a satin black in any of your AMMO paint sets pick it put its a great base for the chipping it's got a reddish tinge to it, it's not black anyway but i added abit of AKs exhaust Silencer or AK Rotbraun both worked great for a German camo black brown colour! Adding more Rotbraun to it is great for the different armour steel colour! It's just a small tip that I really like that I done and hopefully it'll come in useful for you at some point!
Outstanding work !
Thanks Paul!
Thanks a big to UA-cam recommendations!! And you are quite an artist!!
Im glad to hear the recommendations are working 💪 many thanks !
No words but totally amazing
Lovely work. The kit looks amazing. I would love to see more WWI models.
Cheers Vic, more are on the way for sure
I have just bought this kit after watching this video. Was hoping to use my new H&S Infinity airbrush but I have managed to bend the tip of my 0.2 needle. Enjoyed this build and the follow up base too. Thanks James
Hi Gaz ! That's not good, the h&s spares aren't too expensive luckily compared to iwata :( thanks for the kind words and I hope you fix up th ab ok 😀
This has got me wanting to get cracking on my CSM Lanchester immediately, but I'm trying to finish the other projects that I've been neglecting for the past few months before starting anything new. 😂 I'm glad that there are so many different armored car kits coming out as I never knew there were so many different kinds! Great job on the Minerva, I may pick this one up too!
I know that feeling Jarod, 😅 all too well ! I have a lanchester in the stash but haven't got round to it yet, I'm looking forward to not having to build an interior ( not that they are a bad thing)
Thanks !
Fantastic build and video. I just love what you did with the leather seat! My new go-to technique for leather. It looks so good.
Thanks Tinhead ! The seat has had a lot of love, thinking about doing a more focused leather tutorial
Cups look fantastic buddy! Love it
Mate I'm so looking forward to this video! You've been teasing us in FB and Reddit, it looks great
I hope you enjoy it man !
Absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic work !!!
Great vid. That instruction book is a work of art itself. What fantastic renders.
Thanks Billy! They are up there with the best for instructions
Stunning work!
Wow! Amazing build!
what a splendid piece of art ... thanks
Many thanks Peeters
I would absolutely love to see one of these done in a post battle weathered version
If I wasn't too chicken to go nuts with the weathering it would be a great idea 😋
@@lpjmodels haha I completely understand!!! It would be really easy to over do it! i was thinking a bullet hole in the top of a fender? and splatters from nonpenetrating bullets, maybe a flat tire? idk i always have loved the "seen action but not too much action" look, mud from the front and empty shells everywhere on the inside, man in my mind it looks soooo neat but when my hands start to work im always unsatisfied lol much love LPJ
Fine job, sir.
Many thanks Terry
Amazing build😯👌. Love the attention to detail, the weathering & the finished piece. Great idea to build & paint as sub assemblies, I bought one of these last month to build in early 2022 & that’s definitely one thing I’ll try and do to (to a lesser quality no doubt😏). Nice that you detailed too all the paints used etc…, really useful! Really liked the look of this when I originally saw the box, something a little quirky, & was so impressed with the design of just the packaging alone. As for the instruction booklet - it’s a book in its own right…😳😁
Thanks again for sharing, real quality piece, love them teacups!!!☺🫖
Thanks mate ! It's a lovely kit, you'll do a great job 😀
Amazing modeler you are sir. I will never reach this level of detail or skill, because honestly I do not have that patience level or attention to the finer points. But it is great to watch somebody that days. Great videos and great work! 👍
Thanks mate, I'm not very patient either, just keep at it practice makes perfect !
Absolutely superb. Nice to see CSM is still in business with great kits.
Hi James's amazing build buddy paint job is fantastic a really interesting armoured car. cheers Gary.
Thanks Gary, its a bizzare looking car but I love these quirky ww1 vehicles definately interesting to look at on the shelf
Great build James! Those Copper State kits are really nice. I'll have to pick a couple up. I do have the new Miniart Austin Armoured car order and should be here soon. I hope it's as nice as the Copper State kit but I think the engineering isn't as good. Cheers!
Thanks Scott ! The Austin looks really sweet its been on my maybe list for a while, planning a video on it?
Yes, I'll do a video on it but first up will be the new Border Models Crusader. Cheers!
By the way excellent build! Especially liked the way you painting the seat cushion i am going to try that method.
Lovely model, nice job.from JDS in the copper state, Arizona
Sehr schönes Model. Saubere Arbeit! 👍👍👍
Vielen Dank OpaS, Danke für mein video gesehen!
( I hope that reads ok with my basic German)
Great build. id really like to see you build some cold war vehicles, like a centurion.
Top notch work.... what an attention to detail. Kit is nice too & deserves this amount of work & attention... Music gives a excellent and enjoyable background experience. photography is just excellent...
Nice video Nice build. 👍👍 I've been thinking about getting that kit.
Thanks TP ! Its a cool little vehicle, you'd do a fab job
@@lpjmodels 😉
Nice work modelcomrade. I wish you a happy New year
Thanks Christian ! Happy New year 🎉
Another informative and stunning build, brilliant stuff 👍👍
Thanks Kitchen Table Modeller !
Brilliant model. The leather seat was excellent and I learnt something new there. I also like the amount of weathering on this model; not so much as to hide the rest of the paint job but enough to make it look used.
Also, your camera work is perfect. I can see exactly how you are doing what you are doing.
Perhaps my only small criticism would be your music choice? I watch your films with a cup of tea. It is a form of relaxation mixed with an instructional video, therefore I'd personally prefer a calmer piece of music.
Keep up the good work.
Emmet thankyou for the helpful feedback and the kind words, I'm pleased the weathering and overall feel was good , ( I was worried I had underweathered the mud aspect)
I hear you with the music, its something I have quietened in this build so it wasnt as obtrusive as previous vids, I am always scouring epedemic sound for tracks that are suitable and ill bear in mind when getting the next few for something a tad calmer, its hard to find pieces that click, so I have been defaulting to the style you hear throughout all of my videos ( well after I changed to stock musics anyway)
Much appreciated thankyou very much !
I love armoured cars/their looks. This is an absolutely inspiring video. Looking forward now to getting around to build my CSM Romfell. I appreciate You are giving the information which products and tools You use. Please keep those Full-Build Videos comming. Thank You !
Great paint job, this video is amazing. You are on 🔥
Many thanks mate !
Superb ! It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks panzer meister!
Love your work
Thanks Paul!
Absolutely spell binding !!!
Thanks Steve !

Brilliant.. Job... 👌👌
Thanks C J
really great build sir and congrats on reaching 18000 subscribers!
Thanks Richard ! Im really pleased so many people have subscribed
Great job! Top notch modeling!
Thanks Bryan !
Well done Fantastic
Many thanks
I like your idea to make it look “ lived in”
Hi again!
These Copper State Models kits are quite interesting!
You should have included the Romfell armoured car in your best models of 2020 too! 🙂
It's one of my favorites in any case. 👍 "The Steampunk Batmobile". 😁
Hi Radu thanks for watching ! The romfell was pretty Badass, the shapes and the history of it make it a cool vehicle. The finish didn't cut it though this time .
Cheers mate !
Great work as always! I particularly liked the mottled textures on the vertical panels. I will soon be doing Michael Collins's "Sliabh na mBan" armored rolls royce and featuring it on my little channel. Keep up the good work - you've been a great inspiration to me, as a modeller, and as a youtuber!
Thanks mate! Thats a really cool vehicle, looking forward to seeing it 😀 and I know you'll do it justice!
Everyone go over to ua-cam.com/users/TheRaceforTerra
And check out a truly up and coming channel with epic content !
@@lpjmodels Gosh, thank you so much! I am but a humble newbie by comparison, but I am very happy that I tried scale models. It was thanks to your Panzer I video that I took the plunge!
Wow that's awesome ! Thanks mate , I hope it keeps going well you deserve it
Great build, I’m eagerly awaiting my Minerva, hopefully delivered tomorrow, I love the bicycle, if you don’t mind I would use it on mine as well!
Thanks John ! You'll enjoy it for sure, and yes I'm not precious with things like that, ill look forward to seeing it
Holy shit, the detail in the coffee-cups...
Muy buen trabajo. Felicidades 👏
I've got this kit , a very nice one !!!
CSM have belgians soldiers with the first navy blue uniform and the later khaki uniforms with Adrian helmets
looking forward to see this video !!!!!!!!!
Its a great kit indeed ! The soldiers look very nice
@@lpjmodels Its a very nice job you do on this kit , and easy to do 👍🏻
Outstanding.
Excellent en Français !
Merci !
great work
Looks great, an interesting subject!
Thanks mate !
Absolutely superb. love WWI kits
Thanks Ian !
So many products.. looks really good though.
A+++ Super job.
awesome work !!!
sorry but this is so good , loving your work mate,
Such a great looking model! Great work.
Thanks Mate !
Awesome just awesome
I'm on my second one too! It's my favourite kit just now, I done the original version first now way to try the ww1 camo art camo I'll end up with another to do the German version too no doubt haha!
Mate the 3 tone camo was really tempting but I chickened out and went OG again for this video
@@lpjmodels that's why I got another kit to do it from! It's a fantastic wee build every just fits perfectly! I ha r the Italian armour car coming next week that looks interesting
un espectáculo, deseando empezar con el mío,felicidades por el trabajo.
Thanks Juan
Wow! Incredible work. Where do you learn these techniques?
Thanks Don, I'm a bit of a sponge when it comes to information, that and lots of practice
This gonna be sweeeet
Thanks mate looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the eduard spitty later as well.. they are very good kits
@@lpjmodels They certainly look to be!
amazing works !!
Amazing build. Love the leather effect and all of the work with metallics. This looks like a fantastic kit.
Many thanks Bruce, its a awesome vehicle and the kit was spot on
Not in English...En español es mejor: Simplemente espectacular !!!
Easy to understand though, Gracias!
Yes more WW1 models!. Where can i get this model?and VMS products?
Hi Tim, thanks ! depending on where you are based, copper state have pretty good distribution so any large model website should carry them, VMS you can get direct from Poland or in the U.K Scalemodelshop.co.uk
The plastic is very thin, and my Romfell model left a lot to be desired with regard to the accuracy of fit.
Can you do a show on the available "Photo-Etch' products for both aircraft and Armor? Value & Evaluations, please. History of the development of "Photo-Etch".
Thats a cool idea Richard but I expect the video would end up be over an hour :)
Hi
Recent subscriber
Bought the Romfell off the back of your video build can’t wait to start it !
Some videos show an Israeli Spitfire in the intro - any more info on this build ?
Excellent channel
Thanks Steven, I appreciate the sub,
The spitfire was a limited edition eduard boxing and had loads of different schemes from ex Czech spitfires flown in secret to Israel.
The backstory was really interesting ill see if I can find a link
Heres the kit,

And the wiki page for the operation "velveta"

What blue have you used?
GX2 MLT 50/50? You can go a lot more MLT, it'll be glossier when it dries as well. I go nearly 30/70
Thanks Simon, ooh good catch, I think my brain switched off with that bit and I was generalising.
My usual gx2 workflow has me put down 1 layer for coverage and a second thinner one for smoothing, then occasionally I mist over a layer of pure mlt for extra
At a glance I thought it was an M1 Abrams, upon closer look I realized it's far from.
Very far 😆
@@lpjmodels but I can see why others would also get confused because both are military vehicles from the 20th century.
👍👍👍
Just a comment for the algorithm.

Why do you use decal set? Have you had issues in the past? I find it's not necessary is 99% of cases.
Setter is insurance really for me. Make sure they adhere properly over matt or paint
the only thing you could do to improve this is add a figure,
Shh, dont tell anyone but there might be a small diorama coming
