If your interested in getting your own Minerva the link to CSM store is in the video description, the same with VMS !
Cheers.. Nice looking kit.. 👍👍
I am in the process of building a Minerva, and please accept my thanks for this informative, educational and well done video.
Hi James, this is the first time I've ever seen a Copper State kit and they do look to be top quality, as are your building and painting abilities, a truly lovely model. Thanks for sharing this with us, I'm now off to watch your other 1st World War Copper State builds as I appear to have become a bit hooked on them.
Thanks again, my regards...
I'm from Belgium. I know of the Belgian car brand Minerva, but I had never seen a war version. Thanks.
Half an hour or so of pure joy. Many thanks :-)
Very kind thankyou Richard !
leather seat textures is ace, as is whole model build paint job!
Thanks 'o Magnificent Mackrel ! Im thinking about a leather tutorial for a quick video
Can't wait to try the leather seat technique you explained on my Miniart's panzer IV. Thank you for sharing your techniques.
André best of luck its a great technique, one I might expand into a video soon
@@lpjmodels Thank you! I will keep following your channel. You do a really great work.
Your skills are extra-ordinary and a delight to the observer...I use them to wind down and remember when I was a boy making models with my Father.
Bodywork, the cab floor, & that leather seat are superb. Reminds me of the problems I had with a LCM(3) (RN) - rust, oil, tide marks & puke.
Yum yum!
Thanks mate !
Great job. I'm loving the WWI builds. I'm fascinated by the raw nature of the machines they used and how fast technology progressed in just 30 years from the beginning of WWI through the end of WWII.
Your attention to detail is remarkable.
Thanks Kevin!
I keep hearing good sable brushes are the best. I believe that, because my go to, cheap sables are better than the synthetics, but I pucker a bit just picking up the good ones in the store because just one costs more than the five piece set of cheap sables I tend to buy.
I like the lead wire, but I found the individual strands from the core of 250 cord is excellent for 1/35 tie down rope, and thread for hemp rope/twine, because the thread has the little “hairs” throughout the length just like hemp line and you can get it in whatever color you need so you don’t have to paint it and risk loosing the “texture”.
Great build. I learned a thing or two. Thanks for sharing your work. 👍👍
Hi James picked this up from the scale model shop in Telford yesterday from the CSM stand. Watched your video on it and couldn’t resist not buying it for myself there. They really are stunning kits to look at. You certainly have done an amazing job on it. Lovely representation! Best wishes. Marc
I'll chime in and complement you on that leather finish. Fantastic.
The art of modelling has advanced considerably since I started years ago.
Thanks Paul much appreciated!
This is the nicest looking build I have seen for this kit. Thanks for the informative videos.
Many thanks !
"The instructions are something other manufactures can take note of." LOOKING AT YOU DRAGON!!!
You make boring paint schemes look amazing, and I love the paint effects on the details. Great video.
Thanks Sera !
I love these WW1 builds. Thank you for the information on the brushes.
You're welcome Wade 😊
Waauw, another reason to be proud to be a belgian... Amazing build! You are a real master. Watching your builds give me a boost to keep on modeling and try 'advanced' techniques. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Matsi1944 ! You guys were ahead of the curve when this one fielded early in the war, thankyou for watching !
Awesome build, the leather effect on the seats look amazing. Thanks for that I have to try it....
Thanks Tony !
This looks really fantastic. The leather seat painting and weathering is state of the art. Keep going....
Thanks Loken
This Minerva looks great and this patina rendering on the leather is truly stunning. Another magnificent model offered to us there, James .... I'm learning!
Thanks Didier , the leather is getting a load of comments which is really cool, I might do a more in depth leather tutorial soon
WOW! Proud Arizonian here.
Amazing build, I will definitely will be using your leather effect technique in future.
Amazing build. Love the leather effect and all of the work with metallics. This looks like a fantastic kit.
Many thanks Bruce, its a awesome vehicle and the kit was spot on
It's always interesting looking at these armored cars from World War I and seeing how far we've came
Clancy thays very true, seeing how everything started is really cool
No words but totally amazing
I have just bought this kit after watching this video. Was hoping to use my new H&S Infinity airbrush but I have managed to bend the tip of my 0.2 needle. Enjoyed this build and the follow up base too. Thanks James
Hi Gaz ! That's not good, the h&s spares aren't too expensive luckily compared to iwata :( thanks for the kind words and I hope you fix up th ab ok 😀
what a splendid piece of art ... thanks
Many thanks Peeters
If you have a satin black in any of your AMMO paint sets pick it put its a great base for the chipping it's got a reddish tinge to it, it's not black anyway but i added abit of AKs exhaust Silencer or AK Rotbraun both worked great for a German camo black brown colour! Adding more Rotbraun to it is great for the different armour steel colour! It's just a small tip that I really like that I done and hopefully it'll come in useful for you at some point!
That is simply outstanding.
Thanks a big to UA-cam recommendations!! And you are quite an artist!!
Im glad to hear the recommendations are working 💪 many thanks !
Watching a video of this kind of superb skills can have different effects.
If you've never built a model in your life, you think "AH! So this is how it's done, this is what I'm going to do too, and it will come out soooo good..."
If you dabble in kit building yourself and you see this, you may think "NO WAY - I can't ever ever reach this level, so goodbye model kits, I'll take up the mandolin or learn French or subscribe to a yoga course or..."
Or, maybe, you watch it a couple of times and think "ah, maybe if I give this a try, it'll improve things."
That is the path I have chosen. Let's see how that works!
Thanks a lot for not only showing how you do this, but also telling what exactly it is we see happening, and why you do things this way. I still think I couldn't reach this level if my life depended on it, but it helps me getting better!
Thats a great attitude ! I only got to my level with lots of practice and trying new things, it's very achievable if you take your time to learn the methods, and how the paint interacts with itself and subsequent layers.
Good luck man !
Great build on this wonderful model...Thumbs up!
Oooooooofffffff.....that’s a stunner of a build James! That seat 👌.....and the ammo shader work really does make a difference....
Thanks Steve, I was dubious about the ammo shaded but it worked nicely, took a bit of practice to lay it down right, it favours extremely light coats.
That is totally brilliant what a lovely finish 👏
Many thanks David!
Superb ! It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks panzer meister!
REALLY, REALLY GREAT BUILD, James! Your painting techniques paid off handsomely as exemplified by the wheels and tires..
Thanks Lawrence !
Шикарно!!! Выше всяких похвал!!!
Inspiring build Marra looks great keep up the excellent builds and great vids
Just picked one up super cheap....time revisit this.
Top notch work.... what an attention to detail. Kit is nice too & deserves this amount of work & attention... Music gives a excellent and enjoyable background experience. photography is just excellent...

Thanks Federico 😊
Absolutely spell binding !!!
Thanks Steve !
*Such a beauty, realism is amazing, 👏👏👏👏👏!*
Thanks mate !
Great vid. That instruction book is a work of art itself. What fantastic renders.
Thanks Billy! They are up there with the best for instructions
Absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic work !!!
Cups look fantastic buddy! Love it
Lovely work. The kit looks amazing. I would love to see more WWI models.
Cheers Vic, more are on the way for sure
The leather seat and the teacups were just over the top, amazing paint work there. Overall just outstanding build. I hope my Minerva looks 1/2 that good when I'm done.
Thanks Joe ! I'm sure it will be awesome, despite the sub assemblies the kit builds itself, its very nicely engineered.
Agree, Joe :-)
A real stunner. The finish is spot on. Lovely work all round
Fantastic kit by the look of it and your work did it justice ! Great stuff.
Thanks Brian !
Fabulous! Very instructive, thanks for sharing it. And the kit and subject are delightful.
Hi James's amazing build buddy paint job is fantastic a really interesting armoured car. cheers Gary.
Thanks Gary, its a bizzare looking car but I love these quirky ww1 vehicles definately interesting to look at on the shelf
Imagine how much fun it would be to take one of these out for a joyride?
You'd get a sore rump, but it would be pretty awesome.
Lovely model, nice job.from JDS in the copper state, Arizona
Another Stella build! Always learn something new in these vids....can’t wait for the next one!
Thankyou Andy ! Ill try and speed up the workflow ;)
Outstanding work !
Thanks Paul!
You make me want to both practice my modeling more and quit at the same time lol. Another stunning build my friend !
Thank GD ! Never quit !
Awesome job James!
Many thanks Raphael
You give good advice for biginers. And i love your UA-cam channel 👌😀
Thanks Sherman 1944 I'm really pleased you find it helpful
Love the brass and copper on the ww1 vehicles. Kind of steam punky
Me too !
Fantastic build and video. I just love what you did with the leather seat! My new go-to technique for leather. It looks so good.
Thanks Tinhead ! The seat has had a lot of love, thinking about doing a more focused leather tutorial
Absolute good job mate well done
Thanks Billy
Wow! Amazing build!
Sehr schönes Model. Saubere Arbeit! 👍👍👍
Vielen Dank OpaS, Danke für mein video gesehen!
( I hope that reads ok with my basic German)
This has got me wanting to get cracking on my CSM Lanchester immediately, but I'm trying to finish the other projects that I've been neglecting for the past few months before starting anything new. 😂 I'm glad that there are so many different armored car kits coming out as I never knew there were so many different kinds! Great job on the Minerva, I may pick this one up too!
I know that feeling Jarod, 😅 all too well ! I have a lanchester in the stash but haven't got round to it yet, I'm looking forward to not having to build an interior ( not that they are a bad thing)
Thanks !
Another masterclass James. Thank you
Thanks Les !
Fine job, sir.
Many thanks Terry
really great build sir and congrats on reaching 18000 subscribers!
Thanks Richard ! Im really pleased so many people have subscribed
Stunning work!
Great job! Top notch modeling!
Thanks Bryan !
Another informative and stunning build, brilliant stuff 👍👍
Thanks Kitchen Table Modeller !
Amazing modeler you are sir. I will never reach this level of detail or skill, because honestly I do not have that patience level or attention to the finer points. But it is great to watch somebody that days. Great videos and great work! 👍
Thanks mate, I'm not very patient either, just keep at it practice makes perfect !
I would absolutely love to see one of these done in a post battle weathered version
If I wasn't too chicken to go nuts with the weathering it would be a great idea 😋
@@lpjmodels haha I completely understand!!! It would be really easy to over do it! i was thinking a bullet hole in the top of a fender? and splatters from nonpenetrating bullets, maybe a flat tire? idk i always have loved the "seen action but not too much action" look, mud from the front and empty shells everywhere on the inside, man in my mind it looks soooo neat but when my hands start to work im always unsatisfied lol much love LPJ
Brilliant work, a true masterpiece build..!
Thanks Niclas !
Great paint job, this video is amazing. You are on 🔥
Many thanks mate !
Absolutely nailed this one mate, just the little details stand out like the bike and the cups , superb build. Keep em coming👍😉😁
Thanks Dave ! I will do mate ! Got ideas already for the next one
Fantastic build!
Absolutely superb. love WWI kits
Thanks Ian !
Brilliant.. Job... 👌👌
Thanks C J
Great build. id really like to see you build some cold war vehicles, like a centurion.
I like your idea to make it look “ lived in”
Great job! Wonderful model and video. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Steven , glad you enjoyed it
By the way excellent build! Especially liked the way you painting the seat cushion i am going to try that method.
Mate I'm so looking forward to this video! You've been teasing us in FB and Reddit, it looks great
I hope you enjoy it man !
I've got this kit , a very nice one !!!
CSM have belgians soldiers with the first navy blue uniform and the later khaki uniforms with Adrian helmets
looking forward to see this video !!!!!!!!!
Its a great kit indeed ! The soldiers look very nice
@@lpjmodels Its a very nice job you do on this kit , and easy to do 👍🏻
A excellent Video!!!! ... and a stunning result ... love it!!!! ... thanks for sharing :-) ... cheers Markus
Thanks Markus, glad you liked it 😃
Looks great, an interesting subject!
Thanks mate !
Brilliant model. The leather seat was excellent and I learnt something new there. I also like the amount of weathering on this model; not so much as to hide the rest of the paint job but enough to make it look used.
Also, your camera work is perfect. I can see exactly how you are doing what you are doing.
Perhaps my only small criticism would be your music choice? I watch your films with a cup of tea. It is a form of relaxation mixed with an instructional video, therefore I'd personally prefer a calmer piece of music.
Keep up the good work.
Emmet thankyou for the helpful feedback and the kind words, I'm pleased the weathering and overall feel was good , ( I was worried I had underweathered the mud aspect)
I hear you with the music, its something I have quietened in this build so it wasnt as obtrusive as previous vids, I am always scouring epedemic sound for tracks that are suitable and ill bear in mind when getting the next few for something a tad calmer, its hard to find pieces that click, so I have been defaulting to the style you hear throughout all of my videos ( well after I changed to stock musics anyway)
Much appreciated thankyou very much !
Well done Fantastic
Many thanks
Amazing work.
Love your work
Thanks Paul!
Outstanding job, James.....love the way you describe every bit of the build in such simple terms easily understood by all levels of modelling skill. I'm always eager to see the notification from you and know that I'm in for a treat....and never disappointed!
Thanks Robbo, I always enjoy reading your comments ! Thanks again for the support
Outstanding build, as usual, you're really making me want a CSM kit
Thanks Mate ! They are 👌 definately worth trying one
@@lpjmodels what type of mic do you use for you videos?
Absolutely superb. Nice to see CSM is still in business with great kits.
A really good and instructive video. I love your attention to detail and finesse with the weathering. Personally, I am really enjoying the first world war builds but I bet the subjects are pretty rare to find. Thanks for sharing and stay safe!
Thanks Ferb, I have a few in the stash and lined up so ww1 is definately coming again soon, just got a few other projects earmarked to build first
Beautiful workflow, James, I enjoyed it 😊 👍
Thanks mate !
Outstanding.
un espectáculo, deseando empezar con el mío,felicidades por el trabajo.
Thanks Juan
