I am a beginner buying my first deck and decided on the roland dj-202. I chose this deck because it comes with serato pro, decent for scratching, has a 4 deck option, and excellent sequencing and sample features. If someone can provide advice or input on my decision I would greatly appreciate it.

hi I use both Serato dj pro with iTunes to dj with and I want to delete both Serato dj pro and iTunes without deleting my music files and start all over again and this time without using iTunes with Serato dj pro. Because for some reason I lost a lot of music files that they are no where to be found on my computer nor in my external hard drive and by the way I use an external hard drive with Serato dj pro which is where I keep my music files and iTunes folder. I did realize I have Serato and Serato backup folders in my internal and external hard drive and I think that is how my music files go missing. Can you please tell me how do I go about starting over and to be able to have my Serato dj pro setup nice and clean, cause the way my Serato dj pro looks now is very messy. seeing all these red or orange files with ? marks and lightning icon is an eyesore to me.
Since serato isnt free anymore, would you suggest buying it? ive been using serato lite for a while now since i started djing in my bedroom last year. but its really not in my budget to purchase the pro version at the moment what would you suggest? as i cant use all my functions on my ddj sb3
When you add those cue points do they always stay there, so the next time u load and play that song its already preset or do you always have to set the cues every time you load that same song up on a deck?
I love your tutorial,my problem is that I was unable to see much of what you are doing, I am a real novice and not very computer savvy, but If given color coded instructions in the am sure I can follow that, I don't know if that will work for you as far as time or cost.

my top row literally only has that q on the left. how the fuck do i enable the option to choose how many track decks i want to have and whether i want them to be horizontal or vertical. i literally have one track deck without anything. WTF IS THIS
how do i go online and have 2 or 4 decks in serato ? cause i plugged my roland dj 808 into serato but still got 1 deck and isnt connecting into serato ex: when i press play button on my dj 808 i dont see any signals in my serato! how can i connect my dj roland 808 & play with it? please someone help
Mat Bas Sometimes it matters what USB port you use. Make sure it's in your most powerful one, if you have one that is 3.0, use that, if that doesn't work, close the program and unplug the controller, open the program again and then insert the USB, it should load that time, hope that helps if you haven't sussed it out yet
Too true. So many people assume it is free but it is not! If you have anything lower than a Pioneer DDJ SR or the equivalent, you will have to buy a Serato DJ Pro license.

How do you hear the que points to know where you are in the song without it playing through the speakers when the other song is playing?
Does Serato have beat markers? I plan on learning how to beat match by ear but i think ill need to start by using beat markers.

I use serato with vinyl. I know many others do also.
I do as well. I have a large vinyl collection (5000) I always mix in vinyl of songs I go t have digital.

It's because the serato lite is a complete different program. It's a simple version of serato pro.
I dont see those little ticks in between the two tracks. Can someone tell me why?

do you have a controller conected to serato if not you are in off line mode and will only have one deck

Because Serato isn't free. Serato player is but this is not the full software.
