I think with Echo they will start her out as a villain but then she will become an ally where she could take up the mantle of Ronin which has happened in the comics.
Vera Farmiga I remember her from the short lived swords, sandals adventure show Roar which starred an unknown Heath Ledger and Lisa Zane who actually voiced Madame Masque in the 90's Iron Man: The Animated Series.

I like how most of Kate's offense is physically bringing people to the ground with takedowns and she isn't going blow for blow with them. Makes it more realistic.
I know right! I also love that she isn't a Mary Sue by any means. Clint even had to show how to clean her wound correctly.

And now he not only has all this with Kate to deal with, but he’s going to have Yelena looking for him, too, and she’s a shoot first, ask questions later type of gal.
I’ll never understand why people never took Hawkeye seriously until he was Ronin, like everyone’s complaint was he’s “just a guy with a bow and arrow,” well Batman is “just a guy with expensive gadgets.” A Badass is a Badass, and Clint Barton is a legit Badass. Hell his Ronin outfit is one of the most awesome outfits I’ve ever seen.

Such a soothing show so far, I love the Christmas music, and just the lowkey tone and wittiness! Definitely the perfect holiday season show!

I love Kate's hand to hand fighting style, her size makes it very unrealistic that she could go blow for blow with these bigger thugs so they keep the majority of her offense either with a weapon or with her bringing people to the ground, it's very smart and great to watch

Yea. Iron Man 3 was the start of it. I hate how they turned Thor’s trauma into comic relief when he arguably had it the worst. Everyone else is being taken seriously.

Seeing all these lowkey villains like the tracksuit mafia, the Clown, knowing Echo is heavily involved with all this, it’s getting me really excited to possibly seeing Kingpin making a cameo considering all his connections with the characters

Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop is god-tier casting on the same level as RDJ as Iron Man and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Dayum this first episode was fire.
Apparently Kevin Feige specifically had Hailee in mind to play Kate. And I’m so glad they did, she was also my top pick to play her. Wanted her to be in the MCU for so long.

I’m so glad they showed the first Avengers film from a citizens perspective. I always thought it would be terrifying from their perspective. And as someone who was too young to see Avengers 1 and didn’t see it until after Phase 3, it was cool to see it from someone who would’ve been my age.

Absolutely having a blast with the show so far, Hailee Steinfeld is already killing it as Kate Bishop. And I like the fact that we explore Kate's half Origins in the beginning.

I went in expecting to enjoy a christmas theme marvel series w hawkeye in it and i got out w way more than i expected. This is a series setting up for christmas and for what’s to come on christmas. The festive soundtracks, the way they frame the shots, not always in an heavy handed action packed, serious way but in an almost mischievous, mystical and humorous way. Episode 1 gave me a glimpse into Hawkeye’s post snap life and the guilt, trauma and grimness that haunts him. His little precious moments with his family members. And Kate Bishop, this tiny ball of trouble w skills and clumsiness to par, saved and inspired by hawkeye. i have feeling that she’s going to be what Peter parker was to Tony stark, w hawkeye. Other than his family, he might hopefully find a little bit of redemption and salvation in Kate who looks up to him. I can’t wait to see the development between Kate and Hawkeye and to understand more about Hawkeye’s life

I love in general the contrast between all of the shows we’ve had, they’ve all been different in their own way (especially what if and wandavision)
I read the Matt Fraction Hawkeye comics for this show and they were great. The show is also a good adaptation so far. Really liked the tracksuit mafia and swordsman in the show from the comic.
Gotta say that Coyjandreau is the perfect addition for this! Love his enthusiasm and the chemistry with you guys!
The first 2 episodes of Hawkeye was incredible. One hell of a crazy ride it starts off with with Clint Barton again becoming a reluctant hero to the eyes of the public and Kate Bishop. All Clint Barton wants to do is spend time with his kids and go back home for Christmas and gets pulled back into the action which he wants leave behind. These first 2 episodes you really get depth and dimension for Clint Barton as well as Kate Bishop. Barton looking for that sense of normalcy that he wants badly is nicely explored in these first 2 episodes but thanks to Kate Bishop he reluctantly gets back into the action. Kate Bishop is the anchor for Clint Barton who show him what it means to be a hero to the people and why everyone looks up to him. Bishop will kind of represent that surrogate daughter where she represents the best of both worlds. The polar opposites always seem to work out where one yearns to be a hero but is urged by others that you are not, while the other doesn't want to be hero but gets branded as hero. The balancing act of being normal and saving your city is going to be a tough job and it's about how you work your way around it. The introduction of the Track Suit Mafia felt like a nice comedy act tour but at the same time are a formidable foe. They really bring that balance of humor and serious business flawlessly in these 2 episodes. You have that Die Hard mixed with Lethal Weapon style action happening throughout these episodes. Even the introduction of Jack Duquesne says he up to something and definitely behind the death of his uncle Armand Ducane (actor that played him was also the villain in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls). One thing I enjoyed was the tease of his character who will eventually become The Swordsman since he has an affinity for swords and Ronin's sword that he acquired says he will battle Clint Barton/Hawkeye just like the comics.
I already love the chemistry between clint and Kate - this is going to be a fun ride
This is absolutely the best paced show so far. It’s really giving every moment it’s needed time to develop.
The dialogue is well polished and performed. My only issue is that the action so far is quite choppy, even for a Marvel property.
Totally agree. Surprised with the choppiness, but it could be because of not having adequate time for stunt training and fight choreography due to a short shooting schedule and covid protocols on set.
There was one stage where it looked like Kate's elbow didn't even connect with one of the tracksuit dudes lol

Are we just not gonna talk about the fact the secret auction took place inside the Presidential Hotel?? Which is also owned by Wilson Fisk in Daredevil Season 3. Come on at this point it's blatantly obvious that he's gonna be in this show.

i like the vibe and pacing of the show so far in 2 episodes, very funny and action packed and when it gets serious and almost a thriller in episode 2 especially that last scene.
There dealing with grief for natasha, introspection on his time with the Avengers and regret and PTSD over the blip and what he did as Ronin. Mix that in with the family aspect, which was important in Matt Fraction's comics, and their use of the holiday season themes/ Christmas season incorporation. There is always a blend of darkness and humor with Marvel. It's always been their thing.
It's up their as one of my favorite openings for all of these shows, with Loki, cause they're doing justice to the street level, grounded nature for relatability mixed in with the more hyper realistic moments found in Marvel comics. Their doing justice to Hawkeye finally and that's what's most important for one of the Avengers founding members. Plus, Lucky the pizza dog. Enough said!
I really enjoyed this show so much. I'm so happy that hawkeye finally getting a show on his own. I really love that this show portrays the influence he has on everyone. And Kate is my new favourite. She's just amazing. I already can feel how much potential she's gonna have in young avengers!

BUT, loving it so far. I know people are saying “grounded” and yes but idk why I was so excited just to see how Clint is now, pretty much reluctant about everything. Kate is great and I excited to see their relationship develop. BUT I WAS GETTING MURDER MYSTERY VIBES and it was so intriguing and fun.
Wow! Just wow, you know I thought the show would be good but after seeing this first episode I am hooked. this episode alone has exceeded my expectations for the show. And I really liked how in just this episode alone we got this good balance between Kate Bishop and Clint. Now starting off this episode, let’s face it, the second we saw it say 2012, we all knew we would see parts of the battle of New York. But I will say it was cool that we actually didn’t see any existing footage it was all new stuff. Was also really cool to actually see the battle from a civilians point of view. Also can I just say that the Bishop family had an amazing view from their apartment. They had a straight shot at the Stark Tower. Then we got the iconic Hawkeye shot, but this time it was from Kate’s perspective. Then we got the opening credits which were really cool because they looked like they were ripped straight from the comics. Also it was super funny when the clock/bell tower just keep getting more and more destroyed and when Kate got caught the bell just fell out. Then we get Rogers the Musical, i’ve got to be honest I was kind of digging the song. Also I love Clint‘s face, he’s just so confused and is almost disgusted by how terrible the play is. And you know he’s thinking to himself “this is not what happened” In fact the play was so bad he turned his hearing aids off. Which is something interesting to note that he already has hearing aids. Also I love the line where he says “ I know what happens, I was there.” Also it is kind of heartbreaking to see Clint reminisce over Nat to the point where he needed to leave the play all together. Also you got a love the detail of all the swords in the apartment because of Swordsman. Then we see Clint and the kids get a call from Laura, and I love how when she asked about the play they were all just speechless and didn’t even know what to describe what they just saw. And I find it interesting how when the waiter came over and gave them something, Clint wanted to decline it, almost as if he thinks he doesn’t deserve it for either all the bad things he done or because he doesn’t want to be a hero anymore. Then we find out that Eleanor and Jake are engaged, but I’m a little confused as to why they wouldn’t of told Kate this specially if their wedding was coming up so soon. Then we get to see Lucky the Pizza Dog for the first time in live action. I have got to say already in love with him. Sure he is really dirty and his eye is messed up but dang man what’s not to love. Also it was super funny how when Kate was spying at the secret auction a waiter came up and thought he was the only one working there but she told him Gary sent her, and then there actually was a Gary. Can we get the reveal that at the secret auction they are not only selling Ronan’s sword but his outfit too. But it was weird that they got that seeing as he was not only wearing that suit but alsousing the sword during the final battle of Endgame, but you know what this was a really good episode so I’m just gonna look past that. Then the Tracksuit Mafia breaks in. And I’ve got a love how they were comic book accurate by always saying bro at the end of every sentence. Also you got a love the irony of Swordsman taking Ronan‘s sword. Then we see Kate don the Ronan outfit. And it was super awesome to see Kate not only go hand-to-hand with the Tracksuit Mafia, but for her to use wine bottles as a weapon against them. Also I am very curious to see what this special watch from the Avengers Compound is that the Tracksuit Mafia wants so badly. Then we see Lucky trying to take down one of the members of the Tracksuit Mafia, because he’s a good boy. And thank God Kate saved Lucky from being hit by that car. Also it was really interesting to see Clint have almost this type of PTST moment of where he was remembering all the bad stuff he did as Ronan. Then Lucky fulfills his name of being Lucky the Pizza Dog by eating a slice of pizza. I am curious to find out who killed that rich man (I wasn’t able to catch his name) Then when the Tracksuit Mafia goes to attack Kate was really awesome to see Hawkeye be able to single-handedly take them all down. And I love how when Clint unmasked Kate he was expecting it to be some thug but it was actually just a kid, so he knew he shouldn’t beat her up. This was a really amazing episode and I cannot wait to watch episode 2 in a couple minutes.

Amidst all the craziness in the MCU and the real world, this show is a quilted blanket and hot cocoa.
Best example yet of Marvel's mastery of genre-hopping. It really is Girl's Adventure (Nancy Drew, Enola Holmes, etc.) plus a Hallmark movie "An Avenger for Christmas" and it is the best genre hop so far. Not the best show or movie, the smoothest stepping into a genre and upping the quality to Disney/Marvel level. James Bond and Hong Kong martial arts fantasy and heist comedy are higher technical hurdles but this impresses me as much because it is so smooth and so out if Marvel's comfort zone... but right in Disney's comfort zone.
Honestly, it comes more off like a mix of Die Hard and Home Alone to me...but yeah, there is also a girl's adventure element in it.

These 2 episodes were so so good! I’m already in love with Kate (as I expected aha) and I think this show has so much potential moving forward! Manages to find the perfect balance in tone from being fun yet also taking the time for reflection. I really enjoyed both of these and can’t wait to see more! :)
