I honestly think that Hawkeye as Ronin and is one of the most badass looking characters both in comics and live action. And I have never understood why people never took Hawkeye seriously until he was Ronin, like everyone’s complaint was he’s “just a guy with a bow and arrow,” well Batman is “just a guy with expensive gadgets.” A Badass is a Badass, and Clint Barton is a legit Badass.
Rich people's parents when they break a literal tower: Oh sweetie, it's okay. You're grounded. Asian parents for any reason: So you have chosen...Death
I think the reason the action scene with Hawkeye was so dark is that we’re meant to see it as Kate sees it. She can’t tell what’s really happening, Hawkeye is channeling his inner Ronin in that moment (which is more than a little Batman inspired) and we aren’t meant to get a clear look at what happened. It’s disorientating as intended
@@gabrielp9646 umm, it's achara who complained about the bottle not breaking. jaby said some bottles are pretty hard to break. so, you maybe wanna rewatch the video, bud.
If you look at the opening credits you see Kate going through the progression of training. you guys are being extra picky about the dialogue just because you wouldn't say things a certain way doesn't mean others would to. After a family member died by violence I asked my mom to buy me boxing lessons when I was 12. She brings it up all the time including my age when I achieved something. My sister got gun lessons afterwards too.
Jaby, you're talking about the skills the little girl has as if they were an accident. Her life was saved by Hawkeye, who just happens to have amazing archery skills, along with parkour and martial arts skills, all of which she witnessed come into play at a very impressionable moment, and age. She had felt helpless and about to die, and then a moment later, with a literal bang, she witnessed someone take away that helplessness and return her life by using some highly honed physical skills. By the time she asks her mother for a bow and arrow she already had a plan. I want to be just like my hero! Along with learning archery, she also chooses to learn gymnastics, and gets her black belt. She is ready for her apprenticeship. She is already several steps beyond where Daniel san was when he began his journey towards becoming the Karate Kid. Hawkeye is her Mr. Miyagi Plus. Also, this story is comic book based TV show. Like the Marvel and DC movies, people like you tend to review them as strictly movies. Movies and Comics are NOT written in the same way. There are major stylistic differences. Because they are limited to only a few pages of images and story, there needs to be some pretty heavy exposition in comic books, particularly when introducing heroes and recurrent characters. Limiting these to being just another movie or TV show that needs to be produced and presented in the same way as a full length novel based movie or show is missing the whole point of comic books.
I think it’s because different people approach these things from different perspectives: the mom seemed to be trying to use it as an example of Kate’s drive and aptitude, guiding the conversation the way she wanted, so focusing on the relatively young age makes sense. But some folks don’t really talk about things that way. Also, I think that once someone comes to the opening origin as a shortcut to the show’s plot-I’ve seen a TON of people just hand waving it as “another Batman origin”-then everything meant to emphasize or further establish it seems artificial.
I noticed it also. It's funny how when we are little kids we just use our imagination and go with it or don't think of it at all. But as adults a lot of us take the fun out of it for ourselves and become very negative and glass is half empty kinds of people, and never acknowledge it was our own decision to highlight the negatives and not the positives. He did the same thing (times 10) on the Mandalorian Season 2 Finale with Luke. He totally ruined it for himself and said "they" took me out of the episode. When many others noticed the same thing and didn't allow it to ruin the moment for themselves like he did.
Jaby: "what's with this clunky exposition....I get it, she knows how to fight, you don't need to tell us verbatim everything" Also Jaby: "how can she do those parkour moves? they didn't told us she did parkour!" Which one is it Jaby? too much or not enough exposition?
Exactly his complaints contradicted each other. Complained that they say she has trained in fighting and then complains that it makes no sense that she is a decent fighter (and she isn't even a Hawkeye level fighter cause she was getting beat up as well, which actually makes sense)
Parkour and fighting are two different things. I think I go into this in one of the conversations. Filmmakers do this thing where they show or say a character has trained in something as a justification for why they are capable of everything else. Just because someone learned how to make a website doesn’t mean they also know how to animate for Pixar. Are the two possible? Yes, of course, but one skill does not imply the other. Gymnastics is not parkour. Fighting is not parkour. Parkour is a completely separate discipline and practice and films/shows are creating a weird misunderstanding of overlap Between the skill sets.
I have to disagree, I think the problematic daughter-mother relationship is a point in the show and I think it will degrade from here on out. I have the suspicion, that the old man you disliked, because he spoke ill of her mother (and possibly overacted), might have a good reason to dislike either the mother, her fiance or both.
@@antonissa8345 Agreed. They were arguing about $$$, about selling the penthouse. She clearly married into money (she even admitted later on that she didn’t grow up rich like her daughter). Kate at the beginning tells her dad that she doesn’t want to move. He says they won’t. He goes downstairs to his office… the mom later says “hey I’m going downstairs” while Kate plays. The Chitauri attack and both parents are notably absent for a prolonged period of time as Kate is calling out to them in terror. We then find out that the dad died during the attack- no details on how. I’m thinking that the mother murdered the father for the insurance claim and any inheritance and used the Chitauri attack as the cause of death. They did not sell the penthouse or end up moving as a result.
Wouldn't shock me if it turned out Mom took advantage of the chaos of the Battle of NY to kill Kate's dad, and that's why she didn't come when Kate was calling her. Jack is almost too clearly the bad guy, which makes me think it might actually be Mom. Plus, I mean, if I was going to cast a villain, between the two actors it would be Vera Farmiga.

1.The dialogue isn't clunky. How would you say it? 2.Trauma can be exhibited in a whole bunch of different ways. Some are stronger and put on more of a hardened facade than others, even children. 3. In this world and reality, this is how something like this would go down for real. 4. Its a marvel show. It's an exaggerated or hyper reality.
This is great and interesting new tv series Hawkeye i like it two episodes and what's gonna be next Jeremy Renner and Haile Stainfileld amazing actors and play they characters nice in the show from Marvel Studios in 4 phase on Disney + that's great.
I guess I really liked the action sequences so far. Her fighting style is still not as smooth as a trained fighter's would be and she clearly has a lot to learn but overall, she is at the perfect stage where Hawkeye's tutelage would benefit both the story and Kate's character. Also, the aftermath of Endgame is quite realistically captured with Hawkeye's silent reaction to his surroundings, struggling with his memories and trying to move forward with his family. But the thing with the mom, I think it was established quickly that Kate got along more with her father than her mother - I think it's already established that the mother is not as attuned to her daughter's behaviour and attitude as her father might have been. I think Kate expects a certain fierce loyalty from her mother because that is her exact attitude - but there's a certain indifference on the mum's part. And obviously, some secrecy as well.
if you watch very well the beginning right after the gimnastic, I think, we see her jump from a building to another and I think that was a very fast citation to the fact that she practice parcour :D
Just because I keep hearing this OVER AND OVER AGAIN - where was Kate's mum during that battle sequence? DOWNSTAIRS IN DAD'S OFFICE, WITH DAD - WHERE THEY BOTH SAID THEY WERE GOING AT THE START OF THE SEQUENCE!!!!!! It's pretty well established that house is HUGE, and as we see in later scenes there's a whole underground level with the wine cellar, so why does everyone keep acting like her parents vanished into thin air WHEN THEY BOTH SAID EXACTLY WHERE THEY WERE GOING!!!!!
I think the dialogue is supposed to feel stilted to show the estrangement between the mother and daughter. I mean the mother literally said 'who are we kidding' when the dad asked if she wanted to go talk to her in the beginning.
It's been suggested that Loki was under mind-control thanks to Thanos due to the scepter given to him making him more cruel than usual. The writers of the film confirmed this. Think about it, Loki can be an a-hole but in this film alone he's a extreme a-hole.
wait how the fuck dont nobody know who ronin is but val at the end of black widow knows and gave the info to yelena...... somebody got super secret intel..... could be thunderbolt ross
Yeah, talking to a higher society members is honestly like that. They have no chill talk all the shit they want because they think that their money and status afford them the ability to be rude.
Remember also that the stilled way Kate and her Mom speak and behave is supposed to be awkward and show how they try to be family, but they’ve never been close. I think Kate’s Mom might have murdered Kate’s Dad (tho we’ll see on that...she behaves awfully suss 🤔). So that misacting that you’re picking up might just be the mistrust and distance they want you to remember about their relationship...(Achara is right on that). I think the Jack does have something going on and he purposely offered Kate the butterscotch to gage her reaction. I think all that is a misdirect.
Do not underestimate a man who has perfected the art of a weapon. I can't remember which country it was but a man did murder people with a bow and arrow(one was a police officer) so yea a man with a bow and arrow can go up against someone with guns. Because they aren't going to stand there like a target

Looks like you were the one who forgot. Thanos had no plans to attack Earth in 2012. Same thing with Xandar in 2014; he didn't initiate the attack, he just wanted the Power Stone, but it was Ronan who wanted to eliminate the Xandarians.
The Duquesne family are meant to be a type of "Errol Flynn" like character. Or a more like "Fandral" from the Thor movies
there is a easter egg of spider man when clint barton says 22 year old vigilantte
He said that about Kate
Those Avenger artifacts were probably stolen by Vulture’s and Mysterio’s surviving crew.
I love this series ❤️🔥
The Internet has been asking for that musical since the first trailer. :p
I gotta admit, this is a dope 1st episode. 🔥❤
12:46 don't open it by accident 😂😂
Jaby laughs 😂😂
I'm pretty sure Elenore killed the father during the chaos for the life insurance or something. Good call Achara
"Thanos was right"
That was dark.
Impressive audio quality.
The security guard was probably up there because she hadn’t been exactly quiet and had just yelled in triumph a few moments ago.
if you watch very well the beginning right after the gimnastic, I think, we see her jump from a building to another and I think that was a very fast citation to the fact that she practice parcour :D
I liked the old guy. He was fun..!!!
why is jaby turning from one of us fans to this snobby critics that we hated and came to this channel for ..
Because it was a very flawed first episode. Unless you're an MCU fanboy.
6:56 I honestly do feel that way after seeing Eternals 😅 and hopefully both Endgame and Eternals inspires people to take care of the planet more
Just because I keep hearing this OVER AND OVER AGAIN - where was Kate's mum during that battle sequence? DOWNSTAIRS IN DAD'S OFFICE, WITH DAD - WHERE THEY BOTH SAID THEY WERE GOING AT THE START OF THE SEQUENCE!!!!!! It's pretty well established that house is HUGE, and as we see in later scenes there's a whole underground level with the wine cellar, so why does everyone keep acting like her parents vanished into thin air WHEN THEY BOTH SAID EXACTLY WHERE THEY WERE GOING!!!!!
To me it seems very obvious the mom is the villain lol if I'm wrong that will make me happy but I doubt I'm wrong
I think the dialogue is supposed to feel stilted to show the estrangement between the mother and daughter. I mean the mother literally said 'who are we kidding' when the dad asked if she wanted to go talk to her in the beginning.
and peter parker is 16 year old masked vigilantte
It's been a long time !!
It's been suggested that Loki was under mind-control thanks to Thanos due to the scepter given to him making him more cruel than usual. The writers of the film confirmed this. Think about it, Loki can be an a-hole but in this film alone he's a extreme a-hole.
Nothing wrong with the dialogue.
After being a government Shield operative, and then an Avenger. What exactly does Clint do financially now that he is retired?
Maybe Laura earns all the money and Clint is now a kept man
@@Drummer4President Thats possible. Maybe she sells Strawberry jam
pension
wait how the fuck dont nobody know who ronin is but val at the end of black widow knows and gave the info to yelena...... somebody got super secret intel..... could be thunderbolt ross
Not just in Eternals but also in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 6:53
I was surprised af when i saw lalo salamanca..!!😂🤣
I got my black belt at 13. But no competition.
Yeah, talking to a higher society members is honestly like that. They have no chill talk all the shit they want because they think that their money and status afford them the ability to be rude.
I don't know why but i just felt that much connected..
The thing is I believe that the mom killed the dad and use the whole Avengers stuff to cover up the murder.
kate father looks like adult Martin Scorsese when he was 30-35 years old
Remember also that the stilled way Kate and her Mom speak and behave is supposed to be awkward and show how they try to be family, but they’ve never been close.
Why is he over thinking the logic of a show where a guy wirh arrows fights guys with guns ? There's no logic to it
Do not underestimate a man who has perfected the art of a weapon. I can't remember which country it was but a man did murder people with a bow and arrow(one was a police officer) so yea a man with a bow and arrow can go up against someone with guns. Because they aren't going to stand there like a target
This will be a fun series. I'm still waiting for you both to watch "The Shadow."
Funfact :- this show's Hawkeye Know What Happened In No Way Home 😉
And at the same time, not and that is Strange fault
Would you consider reacting to IMPOSTERS, an amazing show with INBAR LAVI in the main role, full of comedy, drama, thriller, suspense, plot twists and more, you would love it!!! And it only has 20 episodes so you could finish it pretty fast! THANK YOU!!! :)
It was his dad the old man is his uncle
Feels like another batwoman type deconstruction of the original hero
LOVE FROM INDIA ❤️
I was cooking while listening, did anybody else heard merida at 27:08?
Mark my words. The Mommy killed the daddy. It seems like it.
she reminds me to Lara Croft 😍
Ah Loki's whimsy.
He's such a cut up.
Jaby is a baby literally questions everything nd thn takes the fun put of everything
Yeah I'll pass with this dude's commentary 👎
Kate queen of gaslighting🤣 hahahaha
29:56 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Achara... 😂
Maybe you're right....🤷.
I can do this all....DAYYYYYYYY!!! 😁😉
Yeah I agree with Jaby there 35:00 Even when I saw that scene of her getting punched in the stomach I was like woah she's getting destroyed but nope she just rolls over hmmm well that's that I guess 😅
Perhaps the ronin suit is more than just leather? Maybe it took some of the impact from the punches.
I wonder if Kate goes to ESU
I believe the mother is a vampire.
Jaby just an advise.... You honestly are complaining a lot unnecessarily it kind of takes the fun out of watching a show.... Again I'm not hating on you but telling you that you need not be so critical with everything you watch...
Lol how can she know about that watch...she doesn't even know why they came
I don't find anything wrong with the dialogues though
But ur right about the fight scene..the first priority is watching the fight clearly next the shots and all
no, quality wine bottles are very hard. they dont break the same way as shown in TV and Movies.
Why does Kate Bishop look like Michael Jackson from the 90s in that suit?
that old man character peter parker :D
the most important question of this episode is how can the costume of Ronin fit perfectly with Kate? LOL
Perfectly? It is definitely baggy on her Compared to when Hawkeye wore it.
