That whole one take shot inside the car especially the camera work in that closed space area between the two characters as they banter what arrow Kate needs to use was incredible. That whole First player action is what that whole car chase scene was all about. The whole close-up sequence of capturing the actor performing the physicality is very similar to Arrow with James Bamford (Stunt coordinator) by showing the actor/actresses executing the move basically zooming into the action.
The first blood shown in the mcu is iron man 1 🤣 While the first blood splatter is in falcon and the winter soldier on caps shield anyways great reactions
As a father who has to miss out on moments like that w my kids at times, having the same kind of conversations w them, this scene brought a tear to my eye.
I’m so happy all of you are as excited for this as I am. Most of my friends make fun of me for loving this stuff and troll me constantly for being a superhero fan, but it’s really refreshing and therapeutic being able to come online and being with people who enjoy and get so excited for this stuff like I do. Im so glad you were able to call your friend to gush about it! It makes my heart happy. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to find a friend who I can do that with :)
I woke up and the first thing was watching this episode. This show is so well written and portrayed that is like living in a dream. I'm loving the bonding between Kate and Hawkeye, they make an amazing dúo.
Hearing hate say "well at least you don't have to hear imagine dragons" reminded me that Halliee Steinfield is in the show Arcane and imagine dragons made a song for the show. Don't know if that was an unintentional Easter egg or not!
That scene when Clint is trying to talk with his son while Kate writes it out for him was just beautiful 💖 that scene made me tear up because I knew some people who were in the same position 😭 Thank you for hitting me in the feels once again Marvel! Well Deserved 💯
When the “guy” laughed at Echo when she’s little you can tell it’s the Daredevil actor that played Kingpin. You can tell it’s his laughter by his voice. I’m really convinced that’s Kingpin.
DUDESSSS - the actor who played Mayas dad is Zahn McClarnon. I had to google his name BUT I recognised him from a TV show you guys might know called Frontier on Netflix with Jason Mamoa? He played a character called Samoset who was pretty cool! Definitely check the show out if you haven't seen it would love to see reactions! Big love from N.Ireland.
This episode did everything right. Sold me on Echo, upped the stakes, perfect tease for a bigger power. 10/10. Only thing that could’ve made it better was if the last arrow Kate used was a boomerang arrow.
YES!!!! 100%. Loved how much this stepped up every aspect of the show. First two episodes were slow but it was some slow dynamite to this BOMB of a reveal!
I enjoyed the first two episodes and a great way to introduce Kate Bishop, and this episode stepped up, during the car chase scene where Kate is using a variety of trick arrows that Clint Barton gave her and instructed her how to use them, and also the part where Kate used two acid arrows on the traffic lights simultaneously just shows that Kate is not kidding when she said that she is the world's greatest archer. Loved her more when her dynamic relationship with Clint Barton is evolving
Foreshadowing Kate Bishop’s mom eventually revealed as the villain. Someone who needed Kingpin’s help like Maya’s father (who probably was able to afford things for his daughter because of that relationship)
The first time we actually saw Alaqua Cox as Echo full-time and she never failed to impress us in this episode already. One of the highlights in this episode, the most one is Clint talking to his son while he never almost completely heard anything and Kate interpreting what Nate said.
Bert & Bertie (aka "The Berts") are Amber Templemore-Finlayson & Katie Ellwood. They are an annoyingly cool directing team from the UK. Btw Coy, I had the EXACT same reaction at the end of the episode !! Who the fuck are "Bert & Bertie" & why aren't they already directing everything I love ? :D
Omg I had the same reaction when I saw that scene with little echo in the karate class with you know who's Hand.. 😂😂😂. Also I am wondering if the show will go with the story line with Jack being Hawkeye mentor when he was younger .
I gotta admit I had a strange feeling towards the first 2 episodes of Hawkeye I wasn’t loving it but this one I got hooked hard. Really excited for episode 4! Can’t wait to see what the big reveal is.
The amount of times I paused and analyzed that possible kingpin scene, it’s barely in the shot but to me it kinda looked like his cuff links were the same ones he had in the first season of daredevil, the ones that were his fathers, I couldn’t tell exactly but to me it kinda looked like it!
Yeah the guy who plays Maya's dad (Zahn McClarnon) is one of my favorite actors--he shows so many emotions with just his eyes. You should watch him as Hanzee in Fargo season 2 and in season 2 ep 8 of Westworld.
I so badly want that to be King Pin 🤞 Also, it would be so awesome if it was revealed that Ronin and The Punisher had partnered up in the past in New York.
The opening felt very rushed, but other then that great episode. Loved the action and comedy. And I hope that was Vincent Denofrio's kingpin. Please be the case.✌
Or, MAYBE it's Kate's soon to be stepdad - posing as Ronin, who killed Echo's father - while Clint and the Avengers were fighting Thanos., worlds away. Don't forget, he's a master swordsman also, and in the comics it was Kingpin who killed him - so it most likely was someone of similar ill repute, so they don't actually have to bring Kingpin into the MCU just yet! This also would explain why he so desperately wants to get his hands on the Ronin sword again.
There’s some blood spray in the first Captain America when the guy who assassinated Erskine shoots some guys in the street… I think. Nothing major just some red mist
There was another Kingpin Easter Egg in this episode and inwas shocked you guys skipped that scene. The scene where they were walking in the park and Ronin mentions the man at the top of the Track suit mafia when Ronin was taking everyone out during the Blip. The way he's described as someone you dont want to mess with and in the Comic the Track suit mafia is under the Kingpin umbrella. That all but confirmed it for me. Wonder what you guys think. ❤ love the content, love this show and loveee the MCU.
I read DC. The Marvel comics I’ve read are Spider-Man arcs. I’ve read loads of lore on the internet for years, so I know most basic Marvel stuff, but not everything. I know all the main characters and some of their backstory, but the only spoiler I got from you guys was the whole Swordsman thing and the stuff about Kate’s mom. I thought maybe we were gonna find out that Jack wasn’t actually a bad guy. Like, maybe Kate was wrong about him and she would have to comes to terms with that at the end of the season. Maybe he would die because of her mistrust or something. It kinda sucks, but whatever. It’s my fault. I’ve had little spoilers from seeing your guys’ thumbnails on my home feed in the past or something you’ve said, but I just enjoy your channel too much to stop watching. I like you. You seem like genuinely good dudes. I don’t let it ruin my day or anything. I just say, “Dammit. Oh well. I guess that’s that.” I will continue to be a subscriber and continue to watch your channel. It’s not like you go out of your way to ruin things for us. Sometimes you just get caught up in the moment and say something without thinking of it as a spoiler. It’d be like if The Sixth Sense was based on a comic and you said, “Oh! He’s the dead guy from the books.” 😆 Not all of us have read the source material and are still trying to figure out what’s going to happen as it’s happening. Who knows though. Kevin Feige has made changes to lore in the past, so there could still be some surprises ahead. ✌️
I’m hoping Hawkeye recognizes him. Clint: Jack? Jack: Hawkeye I haven’t seen you since shield fell how you been? Still practicing the sword skills i taught you? Also why are you in my house?
This episode really made us feel how much of a dark path Clint took after the snap.....people getting killed by vigilantes has consequences in the mcu......we saw that in Civil War(Avengers basically became vigilantes after the fall of shield......everything that happened after the 2nd act of The Winter Soldier wasn't under any gov. body), now we see the same thing
I liked Clint saying Natasha killed Ronan cause in a way she did, she brought Clint back and gave him hope kinda like a Vader killed by Anakin situation
He's also speaking to all of the Marvel fan/critics that never appreciated him as a superhero out in our real world. Incredible episode! That scene broke my heart, also the phone call thing when his son says it's OK if he doesn't come home for Christmas, and Clint's reaction I burst into tears.
Yeah I don’t know why UA-cam blocked us for that moment. I agree. You can actually see me getting emotional during that scene and it was that line that got me. Without that I’m just tearing up for some strange reason hahah
@@valeriejoylauria8944 true, hearing Clint saying those stuffs in the series, like not/never been a role model, he's like nothing or he's just a normal or boring character, kinda hits much harder than hearing people irl saying those stuff about him cuz here its the character himself saying those things.. and also the phone call scene, that definitely broke my heart, cuz in a story/movie/series, other than seeing a character's death or the death of loved ones such as families or important figures to a characters, what breaks my heart is seeing and realizing that a person couldnt spend time or miss so much times being able to be with their families and loved ones.. which might be the reason why i tear up seeing Scott n his daughter reunion in Endgame cuz he miss so much time with her in his life

But seriously guys, where can I buy that sweater ?
Someone has to caption the reaction from the 3 of you when Maya's father was killed.
That scene with Clint talking to his son and Kate writing it out for him is one of my favorite moments in all of the MCU
Beauitful scene

I haven’t cried like this since Tony’s death!! Definitely best moment of the MCU!!
Definitely

RIGHT?! Lol I questioned it and then after I turned it off I was like... THAT WAS HIM!!
@Shan J it was f***king kingpin.

Agree, same here I really like Kate Bishop even more and her dynamic relationship with Clint Barton is evolving
"Dragons live in a different world" Was that a reference to ta lo and the great protector from shang chi
With every new Hawkeye's episode I LIKE this show more and more! I don't know what to expect and I LOVE this intrigue!

That's exactly what I caught on the other day and it was funny reference to Hailee Steinfeld's other project
Also "That's so sweet" and "girlfriend's sister"
I’ve been refreshing the channel ever since I watched this episode! It was the best episode so far I loved it!

“I was born carefully “ that comic reference flew over everyone’s head😂😂
been waiting for your reaction video for this LOL
Great episode. I loved that escape scène. I was responding the same way when Clint targeted the arrow kate shot in the air. I love it.
The actor who played Echo’s father was Crow Daddy in Doctor Sleep
John, where did you get that beautiful Christmas sweater?
I needed that little bit more of convincing after episode 2 and this delivered beyond expectation. I’m absolutely hooked.
The amount of times I paused and analyzed that possible kingpin scene, it’s barely in the shot but to me it kinda looked like his cuff links were the same ones he had in the first season of daredevil, the ones that were his fathers, I couldn’t tell exactly but to me it kinda looked like it!
Coy, as John said, you need to watch "Reservation Dogs"!! It's so good.
They need to introduce that tracksuit mafia guy who spoke with Kate with Michael Pena’s Luis from Ant-Man. That conversation would be fun. 🤣
How are y’all just discovering Zahn McClarnon? 🙃 He had one of the best Storylines in Westworld.
Being a good dad in the MCU is a literal death sentence.
"Good thing you're called HawkEYE and not HawkEAR."
"Hahahahaah, block and delete." 😂
This episode was absolutely incredible. It was so similar to the comics as well.
The guy playing Echo’s father is so good in Westworld. 😭
The chemistry between Kate and Clint is the best I've seen since Peggy and Natasha in What If?
The "Uncle" hand didn't necessarily look like Vincent D'onofrios hand there but that doesn't mean he won't show up. I really hope it's gonna be him
One of the best episodes of all the MCU shows so real the action the humor the heart
great reaction and episode, one question.... were did John get the xmas jumper? I want one
maya’s dad is in reservation dogs and is HILARIOUS

If it was Kingpin...having someone dress up as Ronin to do a hit wouldn't be outside of his wheel house.
Coy double fisting a monster and a beer is my new favorite thing
Also echos dad, he is a great actor and he has been in alot of stuff, this episode was a 11/10 for me.
Love the sweater John 🙌🏻
I think this single episode was better than the entirety of Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki.
I feel like Hawkeye has the potential to either surpass or be on par with falcon and the winter soldier idk about the other shows though.
I so badly want that to be King Pin 🤞
Also, it would be so awesome if it was revealed that Ronin and The Punisher had partnered up in the past in New York.
It even sounds exactly like him too
The actress playing Kate has the most emotive face I have ever seen.
Who would have given Clint the Pym Tech arrow? Scott or Hank
Could be Hank, but most likely Scott
How is Coy still looking beefy while wearing a tracksuit?
Hawkeye was my favourite Avenger ever since his cameo in Thor. I'm so happy he's getting a show that isn't some lazy throwaway
Little Echo is so cute I wish I had a daughter looking like her
Hey John, where did you buy that Hawkeye sweater? It’s terrific!
Alot of people sayin hawkeye was a boring should admit they were wrong
First blood splatter? Did he forget that dude who got obliterated in the propeller of that rocket during first avenger? Haha
The opening felt very rushed, but other then that great episode. Loved the action and comedy. And I hope that was Vincent Denofrio's kingpin. Please be the case.✌
3:53 yea let's forget about John Walker killing someone with a lot of blood in that scene 😀
There was blood splattered but did we see the blood actually splatter? Haha I genuinely don’t remember
Love yall! Yall are great!
I have been a fan of Coy's since the popcorn network
Long time. Much appreciated
18:59 small theory I have what if ronin was sent by fisk to kill echos dad and then later on in the show we see what actually happened before
So was fatman auto shop their not so subtle way of confirming that was “WWWIIILLLSSSOOONNN” (Tom Hanks voice)

Not only was "the uncle" mentioned multiple times but his identity was purposely hidden. He has to appear sometime during the show now.
If he doesnt show up in hawkeye, he could show up in the echo spinoff (he could show up in the hawkeye finale leading into the spinoff)
Echo's appearance is not entirely comic book accurate, but rather looks like a variant of Rosa Diaz. I meant that as a sincere compliment
