      @@PickleballMedicine yeah, I was going to just do a repeat and get another S when it wears out, but the other two, especially the kinetic, look very enticing as well! Glad to help the cause!

    Thank you! I've been waiting for someone to compare the Kevlar paddles. I've tried the Proline Energy S and even though it has a nice feel I found it to be to plush for my play style even after adding lead to my taste. The Kinetic sounds like it would be a better fit for me but would want to try it before buying.

      You are very welcome... the prolone is fun and very balanced, and you'll definitely find more power with the Kinetic if you're looking for that.

    Good to know we had similar feelings regarding these paddles. That kinetic has some serious power! I felt like it did a pretty great job of control as well but yea definitely not as soft as the ruby!

    Editing my review of the Kinetic now, and I was surprised by its level of power and pop. This comparison video is great and super needed since it seems these Kevlar paddles are so different. You might want to check out Body Helix's X-3 Kevlar paddles as well. The Pro version is super unique. Great video as always!

      Awesome man, thank you for the support! 🙏 Ill make sure to check out your review when it comes out.. it sounds like we had a pretty similar impression! How do you think the Body Helix kevlar paddle stacks up against the Kinetic??

    • @MatthewKPickleball
      @MatthewKPickleball 4 місяці тому

      @@PickleballMedicine I think you'll find the X-3 Lite to be very familiar-feeling, leaning a bit towards control compared to the Kinetic--mainly because the touch and feel in the soft game is more like what you get with RCF compared to the Kinetic IMO. (Although the X-3 Lite is still very powerful with substantial pop.) As for the X-3 Pro, that is a different beast altogether with a different kind of paddle construction involving a super thick core build-up with aramid fibers. It's very powerful but has a very different feeling when hitting than a lot of what's out there.

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  4 місяці тому

      You are making a very convincing argument to make me want to try the x-3 pro... 😅 I like hitting power paddles.. it's kind of like indulging the side of me I know I should avoid, since I always need to work on my woft game, but always want to drive and speed it up 😅

    Been playing with the Ruby since it was released. Coming from a vatic pro the two biggest things that jump out from the vatic is the amount of spin on all my shots and the size of the sweet spot. It does probably play softer as well , the vatic had much easier power but love the play of the Ruby.

    • @PickleballMedicine

    Thanks for this. Wish I would have seen before. I just bought the MARK. The back order wait on the Ruby was too long for me, and the cost of the MARK seemed fair. Does anyone know what % of Kevlar to Carbon Fiber in the face paddles to "blend" the two??

    Quick question for you. I have the Kinetic (which I love), and it now has quite a bit of ball dust on it. A friend said he heard you shouldn’t use a normal carbon fiber paddle eraser on the CF/Kevlar weave paddles. Is that correct? Or can I use my normal eraser on it?
    Thanks!

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  4 місяці тому +1

      I think that's a good question... from my perspective, it seems like companies are sort of guessing at what will work best at getting the dust off without wearing down the grit... but Kevlar paddles typically use the same peel ply finish that carbon fiber paddles do, so I really don't see how it's that different. For me personally, my cleaning method for both Kevlar and carbon fiber paddles is
      1: use a pretty we cloth and GENTLY wipe off the ball dust,
      2: let the paddle dry, then
      3: Follow it up with a very LIGHT cleaning with a paddle eraser to get the small particles off that will be left behind after the paddle dries.
      That seems to work best for me at getting everything off, especially for paddles that really hold onto the dust, while being as gentle as possible. That's just me, though!

    Perhaps, try the Honolulu Pickleball Full Kevlar next when it releases. So overall, you're saying a full kevlar will be more soft than a hybrid carbon kevlar. Wonder which surface will prove more durable. My carbon Mark Pulse is already worn after less than 2 months of play, but I hit with a lot of spin and power. This sport is becoming more costly than tennis...

      I have seen the Honolulu Kevlar Paddle releasing soon... I am actually really excited about it, im interested in how it will stack up to these two!
      I am afraid that now, after I've been reviewing paddles so often, I've built a habit of having a new paddle every other week and I'll spend a fortune buying them muself if I ever stop doing reviews... 😅

    What did your Ruby weigh? I think your sw is off a bit.

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  4 місяці тому +1

      I feel pretty confident about it, but I definitely understand and welcome the suspicion!
      Ive definitely found that some paddles tend to increase or decrease their swing weight more than others when the overall gross weight of individual paddles varies, depending on where the weight is distributed in the paddle construction, this is particularly true with 16mm paddles.
      Regardless, no matter what other people have found, I feel obligated to report the numbers I actually find, which is often a good reflection of what one of those paddles may feel like in the wild.
