Thank god for data-driven scientific channels like yours - absolute breath of fresh air! The majority of other channels try sound objective but just wind up falling into the pitfalls of anecdote. At least John Kew trends a bit more towards objectivity with his cutaways/deconstruction/magnification of the paddles he reviews, but it still boils down to a lot of platitudes on how things "feel".
Wow, great data and presentation. I have found paddle performance data to be uniquely related to the individual. Swing weight above 115 is a drag for me. Likewise the comparison of power and control. My natural grip and mechanics absorb more energy therefore I lean toward power to help drop and dink success. Keep up the good work!
Such a thorough coverage on the difference between carbon fiber and kevlar. I was very pleased that you mentioned the nuances of kevlar 14mm to 16mm - helped me so much on which to get
I like your honest, to the point reviews. I also perceive your presentation as unbiased and not trying to sell or promote any paddles, appreciate that.
I really enjoyed how you presented the scientific aspects between the Kevlar, Kevlar-Carbon and Carbon paddles. Also, I enjoyed your honesty in your presentation. Thank you.
Dustin Fowkes wow! You knocked it out of the park with this video. It’s the best I’ve seen regarding Kevlar paddles and a must-watch for anyone into them! Congrats!
Thanks for this comparison. For the swing weight:twist weight ratio you might want to split it out but shape since the shape of the paddle heavily influences those factors. You’d get smaller n’s but that would get rid of that confounding factor.
Love the data driven approach in this video. I’ve been curious about any generalized differences in Kevlar paddles ever since they started entering the space
Absolutely LOVE the data driven information. While I do appreciate subjective reviews, it's great to have a data driven base numbers to go with the subjective opinions. Thanks!!! Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the great info! I just purchased a new Kevlar/Carbon hybrid paddle from Selkirk the Halo Pro Max XL and I am excited to really see how it changes my game.
It's absolutely fantastic to have statistically accurate comparison of the different types of paddles. Clarified a lot for me in the murky ocean of pickleball paddles. Appreciate all the work you do.
Fascinating. I didn’t think there was that much of a difference between carbon fiber and Kevlar, but the data backs this assumption. Guess it’s a Kevlar paddle for me next when I upgrade. Great work, keep the data-driven videos coming!
Im seeking a new paddle and really interested in a Kevlar surface from carbon fiber. Your videos add so much to helping me choose my next paddle. Thank you!
Wow. Great video. I was able to pause it and see the data on the screen and got great info is less time than all other videos out there combined. Perfect format! Dont change a thing! Thank you for your reviews.
Thank you for the informative data-based review. With so many different paddles to choose from in the market your insights are helping me to hone in on the potential “right” paddle for my play.
Excellent comparison ……wasn’t sure what was the hype around Kevlar …you really broke it down with the break in stage being my favorite comparison….great job?👍 thanks
Great comparisons I was curious about the kevlar impact that all companies were going to. Glad you broke down the differences. I really enjoy watching your videos.
Really impressed with the video (1st I’ve seen of yours). Checked your paddle database and see you have data on my prior (Legacy Pro) and current (Apes PLE S). Have me really curious about the Spartus Apollo now.
What a great finding. I was wondering about the 14mm kevlar but this changes that. I will seriously consider the 14mm as my next paddle. Keep up the good work!
Great content. Newbie here, started with a Hudef Gen 2, then Selkirk Epic Vanguard, then to Spartus Apollo. The last is my favorite for where I'm at now.
Very interesting findings. It's crazy how many different qualitative and subjective differences each reviewer may have compared to the next about paddles, so anything more quantitative is always interesting to have
Your analytics combined with the numbers crunched, has made my decision to make a move on a few Kevlar/or CF models and brands with confidence. Thanks.
I'm thinking about a new paddle. I didn't know that kevlar was an option, so I'll be looking forward to part 2 of your review. Thanks for all the effort.
Nice findings! I'm also curious if paddle manufacturers are getting better about weighting the newer kevlar paddles better to improve on SW and TW, now that people are better understanding what makes a paddle play well.
I'm extremely interested in the SW/TW ratio. That's a metric I wouldn't have considered and it's interesting to see how the kevlar affects this metric. Nice work!
