I'm in my mid 60s. A small town midwestern country boy. I appreciate a good rolled jean. In my elementary and pre-teen years we always rolled our jeans. We didn't adhere to any roll type rules we just rolled them. Unless they were bootcut, which I almost never wore. In high school we had moved to the city so my dad could find work after the Army and Korean war. My group of friends never wore jeans except on Fridays. We preferred dress slacks, I remember Sansabelt slacks were big, with jersey knit polo type sweater shirts or short sleeve Banlon or cotton button up shirts in the warmer months. Of course we wore well shined and maintained dress shoes, such as Stacy Adam's knob toe or Johnston Murphy's loafers, etc. Now, I mostly wear chinos and occassionally jeans unrolled because I typically wore loose fit. However, I've recently purchased a few pair of regular and slim cut jeans and which I didn't unfortunately get long enough to wear but a very modest roll, depending on the shoe being worn. I find that I still like the roll, even on some of my slim cut chinos. Last thing, I live in the Midwest and I don't like wearing jeans or some thin chinos in below 32° weather so I wear mostly 6 to 10 wale corduroy pants most times when casual and lined wool when a smarter look is needed. So, my jeans are relegated to spring, some summer wear if not too hot and fall. Happy New Year
You must have ended up in yuppie ville, I'm 62 raised in Pontiac mich, in high school in the early to mid 70s, we wore, Levi's big bell jeans and tee shirts and converse all stars, fridays dress slacks button shirt, stack shoes
I started watching this with so much doubt. I thought out loud saying “What the hell does he know about fashion? He’s not TeachingMenFashion.” (a UA-camr) but, this man knows what he’s talking about and taught me that I don’t know squat about my proportion type. Thanks bro. This is my first time watching you and I subscribed. My bad for doubting you lol.
I am very happy that you have reached 1M follower's because you deserved it more than anyone. No one gives so much information or takes so much pain of making free articles and ebooks. I honestly love the content you put up because there is nothing unnecessary it's pretty straightforward that's what makes it great. Hope you get more followers. All the best 👍
"Stacking" originated way, way back with those who rode horses (and later, motorcycles). We/they purchased jeans that were 2 to 4 inches longer in the inseam so that sitting in the saddle (horse or motorcycle) your jeans didn't pull up over the top of your boots. Usually they wore straight legs (boot cuts came later). Also boot cut jeans drag on the ground at the heel, so straight legs were preferred. I learned about "stacking" as you call it from an old cowman friend of my grandfather way back in the early 60s when I first got a motorcycle.
The 2 inch roll is the best one when going out to clubs or bars. It’s clean and won’t unroll if you roll it right. The double roll is my day to day roll I use. It’s fast and easy to do when you have to be out the door. And a new one I’m going to try is the pin roll. Using a rubber band to make it a bit more tight never cross my mind or herd of it until now. Thanks budd... I always like watching your videos and learning new things to make what ever I wear look good.
Just started rocking boots and of all the videos on UA-cam this has actually been the most helpful and brought more clarity about the whole rolling and stacking thing..Great video
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer jeans that are actually the proper length making this whole rolling/cuffing issue a moot point. But, to each his own. Never the less, this video is very informative for those who prefer this style.
Different boots are different heights and sizes. So unless you buy a pair of jeans for each boot, it's impossible to match length perfect. But I agree about it looking a little 50s.
Cuffing/rolling is a nice way to switch up your style and give your boots a whole new look. It also lets you choose the exact length of your jeans, which is a huge advantage for people with jeans that fit well but are too long.
zaco21 it's rare to get jeans that are the exact perfect length, though. Usually, there's always a bit of stacking (and jeans that cut off high look weird).
I am doing something different Instead of rolling them on the outside, i roll them in the inside, making it a bit wider on the bottom which works better for when i am wearing boots.
Lol they suggested me this video as im shopping for boots. I agree these fashion divas know nothing, its not a written book its who tf wears it, how and why. I garantee Ill pull a better style anyday over captain sunday brunch @ the in-laws up there. 🤣 Y'all look like freaking fools all dressed up like a mix of sons of anarchy, vikings and some rock a billy skinny rockstar. Did you knew that? Stop following "fashions". Its a consomation gimmick just like they used to do on females only. Establish yours. Or don't. But don't expect to be some sort of fn TV character over me because you rolled your b ass leggings wearing that silly fn hat. Lol. I wear leather wrist straps because my wrists hurt when I fracture my fingers on your faces. Its not a fashion tool. Its a tool. Just like my keys. Sh you clowns now call "EDC". Yeah I got a leatherman micra (because my father had one and just playing with one doing my nails soothes me), a mini flashlight (because thats where you need it) and some knives laying around. But I dont buy into all this buy your manhood gimmick they got going. You mo fos gotta need them tools its not a poser game. Now... that being said. Any human needs a pair of good boots in my book. Its like the one thing you need to do the rest. How you wear your jeans over it doesnt fn matter 1 second. If you want to get laid to get laid. Youll get what you want anyways if you have competence and confidence. And then people will admire you... and copy your style... call it fashion 🤠
Im realising we just entered the era of the fathers who have the complete survival/outdoorsman/fishing/4x4monsterjeep/edc/complete dewalkee m18 toolsets but the gd sink in the kitchen has been leaking for 4 months. And some dude like me fixes it with his fingers. Pouring himself a glass of water... exhausted and sweaty. After fixing the lawn 😉
more stuff from Thursday, I really think they've nailed the modern semi casual dress boot, I really can't wait for the wide sizes to come out. and hopefully for a shop to open close enough to me that I can go and be sized properly.
Ethan! Where are you from :) We'd love for you to stop by our showroom one day if you're in NYC. We're releasing our wider widths on a few styles this week. They will be available to ship after the Holidays! Shoot us an email (founders@thursdayboots.com) for more information!
I’m 62, 6’1”, athletic build. I’ve never cuffed my classic fit Levi 502s. I like the rolled cuff look you’re showing in the video, but I’m not trying to look like a kid. I’ve got several nice pair of boots, chukka & wallaby suede, wallaby brown leather. Can an old dude sport this look, or should I just leave the jeans alone? The length of what I’m wearing lends itself to the “stacked” look. I didn’t know this was a style or look, just thought my jeans were a bit long. I’m a casualty of “gray divorce” & now that I’m out there again, I don’t want to look like a dork.
If your not like 80 years old stacking with Chelsea boots is the name of the game with modern mens fashion. Although you shouldn’t stack as heavily as he was in this video. And you want to have bigger legs and skinnier jeans to accentuate a muscular or athletic figure. This channel is kinda falling behind in the stylish department and is heading towards more old fashion almost dapper look. But like said before to each his own. Keep looking good gents :).
Sean Hartman I agree fella. Very much so. I think each occasion calls for a different style. There is a time in which to look more dapper and "cleaner" if you will, is the way to go.....and there is a time to perhaps inject a bit of street on to your outfit....such as a light stacking. Not to much though obviously. Chelsea boots...especially suede ones are my go to. Sometimes I cuff, sometimes I stack, for a more messy yet still very good looking 'look'. It all depends on my mood. When I need inspiration for a dapper look, there really is no other place to look then images of David Gandy. That dude kills it every time.
Thanks for the info 👍 Rolling up or cuffing might be a good alternative to an alteration if you purchased a pair of jeans which are too long for you, but fit you perfectly otherwise.
I wish this video existed 10 years ago when I first started wearing high top shoes and boots and couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to nail the perfect look for my jeans to complement the shoes. Lol Great video Antonio
I just bought a pair of R.M. Williams, and they're amazing, the classic Australian boot. But after seeing some of these Thursday Boots, I'm going to have to go shopping again.
Oh my goodness. I've been pinrolling for the past like 2 or 3 years and I just get used to having to re-do it 2 - 3 times a day. I've never heard of the rubber band hack. I'm going to try that now.
This is definitely one my favorite RMRS videos... Never even thought to look for a video about rolling the jeans up, even though I never knew what is ok and not ok to do when it comes to rolling jeans up. Keep up the great work 👍
On a pin-roll, take the front and rear (where the crease would be on a slack) fold to the inseam and then cuff the Jean. This keeps the seams in place which helps hold the cuff better. This is how I did it back in the 90’s. 👍
I like all the great information on style. I prefer a different style of boot because I ride Motorcycles. The knowledge is good to know. I'm looking into some of these boots for when I'm not riding. Thanks for the knowledge.
It provides more versatility, It's just as much functional as it is fashionable. Take a pinroll for example. You can change a well fitted slim pant into a more tapered skinny leg without buying another pair of pants. But the deep cuff is honestly terrible. I've seen a few people pull it off really well but it mainly looks silly in my opinion.
Hey Antonio great video but with your summer boots what type of shirt would you wear what shirt would look great with this outfit / Style thanks in advance keep more of these videos coming I love them and watch every single one of them I'm in my 40s but look way younger than 40
Little tip, pin roll the other way, towards the back not the front, more difficult to come undone and looks cleaner. I also double pin roll and do this with boots as well as classic white trainers like Stan Smiths.
As a trad skin, I have a special love for a small, tight roll, but before I roll them, I hem all my trousers so that they fit fine over my lowest shoes. Learning basic sewing is super important, imo. Saves a lot of tailoring that you would otherwise pay someone else to do. It's fast, it's easy, and it's a skill worth knowing.
I just own several pairs of Jean's. Full length with a two inch flood for low shoes. A mid length for my eleven eyes, and shorter pairs for my fourteen eyes. All cropped, folded, pressed then sewn in so I don't have to do this each day.
I’ve actually read that stacking is THE classic approach to take with Chelseas. However, that writer was referring to dressier kinds of slacks than jeans.
At 6’5” i can say the deep cuff (I don’t use it often) works well and pin-rolling my jeans when wearing high top sneakers, chukkas or combat boots makes me look like a bad ass. I️ approve this video
Been awhile since I've commented! I don't care for the various rolls in the video...not really my style. But I see that my fav Thursday boot (Presidential, for those keeping score) is perfect for all of them, lol
Thank you so much for recommending Thursday Boots. I finally found a place to buy nice quality boots in my size. Its incredibly hard to find companies that make 6.5 in dress shoes/boots that are in stock
Can you try figure out what jeans they’re using on Thursday Boots website when they’re modeling some of these boots off. I can seem to find anything that fits and looks as good as the denim they match up with their shoes
Hey Antonio es muy importante my mother always tells me that rolling my jens don't look good I'm here to see the video and better myself in how to do this thanks in advance for the video
I'm not too sure about how most of your shoe focused videos are produced (stumbled across your video searching for something else), but could I suggest a full body view of each style in order to create a more complete idea in mind? This may open some people's mind to stacking/deep cuff, but it could also be much more work. Just an idea, great video nonetheless.
Antonio, thanks! However, what do you think about tucking in the jeans into the boots itself and then lacing it, etc.? I that archaic or inappropriate?
So my problem is when I wear my skinny or super skinny jeans, the back pull strap on the Chelsea boot always gets hung up on the back of the Jean cuff and stacks up unevenly on the back. Everytime I sit down and get up, I have to adjust the back of the pants to go over the pull up strap. Sometimes I just want to cut them off but don't want to ruin the boot either. What do you recommend?
Looking at getting the Thursday boots Co. Wingtips. Are these boots going to work like the brown lace up boots in this video as far as rolls go? Also are these boots essentially going to be able to be worn with the same types of out fits?
on their website they say something like they don't give discounts because they're already giving the cheapest price possible or something like that. you can try emailing them on their customer service page about getting flawed boots at a discount, but when I tried that they never responded.....
Since I got my first pair of Justin Ropers, been stacking my jeans. As was proper for any Texas boy. (Yes, I looking at you Antonio). Never looked back. Good video, as usual , but will never, ever roll my jeans. At least stacking is now considered “fashion forward” (who knew). I’m fashionable by accident.

Chelsea boots.... Waaaaaoh... Waaoh.. This is an amazing video.. Practical part is the best.... Keep it up my man
This man talks about boot cuts at 1:35 and I don't understand why TECH MAHINDRA rejects the style.

The deep cuff is a terrible look regardless of the boots or jeans you're wearing.
I like cuffing them up one time (not deep, a normal size) and letting em stack/not cuff. Of course depends on the shoes and the fit of the jeans
Nah
greysuit17 k
Probably no. I love deep cuff.
Sorry ,but I think the deep cuff looks Stupid
Don't apologize for being correct lol
indeed.
Agreed. It looks so awful.
Agreed. Not a good look lol
You would be right in my opinion.

If this guy were a salesman in my city, I'd go bankrupt in no time.
I like how he speaks with the "I didn't click on this video, You did. Now pay attention, ....!" attitude. It works.
Former Marine.
I think this video would've benefited from full length body shots of the model and the different styles.
Appreciate the suggestion - I'll keep that in mind.
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer jeans that are actually the proper length making this whole rolling/cuffing issue a moot point. But, to each his own. Never the less, this video is very informative for those who prefer this style.
Thanks for the honest feedback!
Yeah I'm with you on that.
Cuffs are a bit 'Fonzie' and stacks look scruffy (unless you like looking as though your ankles are spring-loaded...)

Man, those boots ! I've been looking for somewhere to buy that style of boots and man im not disappointed. Thanks brother
I know right!
I'm beginning to realize how priceless your videos are! Thanks for doing what you do, Antonio!
Na... You can slightly stack with a chelsea boot. Looks great.
if you look like Sam Winchester then it’ll probably look great, otherwise make an effort
Amen

Deep cuffs - Don't do it.
Stacking - Don't do it.
Alex 1611 disagree. A slight stacking with skinnier fitting jeans looks great with a chelsea boot.
Mr. Fett Esq. I hate Chelsea boots too, but to each their own, I guess
If your not like 80 years old stacking with Chelsea boots is the name of the game with modern mens fashion. Although you shouldn’t stack as heavily as he was in this video. Sean Hartman Style and fashion are two different things.
Darn it - I should've filmed it earlier :)
I'm 5 foot 8 inches and I've been doing the deep cuff for a couple of months, I like it.
Super!
This is definitely one my favorite RMRS videos... Never even thought to look for a video about rolling the jeans up, even though I never knew what is ok and not ok to do when it comes to rolling jeans up. Keep up the great work 👍
Awesome - thank you sir!
On a pin-roll, take the front and rear (where the crease would be on a slack) fold to the inseam and then cuff the Jean. This keeps the seams in place which helps hold the cuff better. This is how I did it back in the 90’s. 👍
Holy Mother of god.. How do you manage to create content for almost every day? Amazing
cjimenez2787 by coming up with awful tips like deep cuffing or stacking
I like all the great information on style. I prefer a different style of boot because I ride Motorcycles. The knowledge is good to know. I'm looking into some of these boots for when I'm not riding. Thanks for the knowledge.
I’m a fan of properly fitting jeans 😂 why roll ?
Alex Chamberlin I like it because it gives a nice lighter shade of blue trim at the end
People love the contrast of the roll at the bottom of their jeans that's why :)
Draws attention to your boots.
Aaron D raw selvedge denim wit da deepa cuffa
For any reason! I like stuck, no exaggerated, but I like it!
Stacked for sure!!!
Today morning I was wondering how should I cuff and now Antonio you can guess what we want!!!
Great job my man!!!
I just got a pair of scout chukkas in yesterday and I was just thinking how to roll my jeans with them. Clutch video
Which method are you going to try?
Welcome to Team Thursday :) !
Thank you for this, especially the tips on how to actually do the rolls and cuffings - much appreciated!
I like the transparency is your sponsorship. Nice content, helps a lot of folks who are trying to dress better.
Excellent vid.. just what I was looking for!
I tend to fold my jeans inside to try and simulate a hemmed look.
Cuff > Stacks
1 1/2 inch cuff maximum though. The cuff just gives it a cleaner look in my opinion. Especially on darker jeans.
Loving this look wanna try this with some chukkas and lace ups. I am only a short guy though but now I know what's best. Thanks for this Antonio.
Sounds like a plan/
I actually was looking into jeans and boots so this was really helpful and on time
As a trad skin, I have a special love for a small, tight roll, but before I roll them, I hem all my trousers so that they fit fine over my lowest shoes. Learning basic sewing is super important, imo. 100% this

I’ve actually read that stacking is THE classic approach to take with Chelseas. However, that writer was referring to dressier kinds of slacks than jeans.
I did a single roll and was looking good.
At 6’5” i can say the deep cuff (I don’t use it often) works well and pin-rolling my jeans when wearing high top sneakers, chukkas or combat boots makes me look like a bad ass.
I️ approve this video
The best method for your height!
Wonderful i like how you didnt anoyed me with 5 mins of sponsors 👌
In the military, we used bootstraps to cuff our pants and it looked really good 👍
Great timing! I just ordered a pair of chelsea boots!
Awesome!
Been awhile since I've commented! I don't care for the various rolls in the video...not really my style. But I see that my fav Thursday boot (Presidential, for those keeping score) is perfect for all of them, lol
Hiking boots look so good
What about wairing the slimfit jeans Inside your boots? I think it looks good!
I like streetwear and a Suede Chelsea Boot and slim tapered jeans looks great
These work amazing with slim fit jeans, polished 1460 Doc Martens and a slim fit fred perry polo.
15 years ago I wore cuffs because my jeans were always too long...kids in school made fun of that and I still hate to see someone wear that today
Наконец-то видео и с конкретными советами, и с новыми фундаментальными знаниями! Так держать!
Thursday Boots are the Best👍🏻
Thanks Antonio!
Yes they are!
I'm not exposing 6 inches to anyone😂🍆
Bruhhhh
How getting them altered at the Tailor or simply avoid buying jeans where the legs are too long?
Very beautiful insightful video!
Too bad I don't have many jeans to Experiment with
I'm not too sure about how most of your shoe focused videos are produced (stumbled across your video searching for something else), but could I suggest a full body view of each style in order to create a more complete idea in mind? This may open some people's mind to stacking/deep cuff, but it could also be much more work. Just an idea, great video nonetheless.
Antonio, thank u for helping me be a better man.
Appreciate it - thank you!
Wow, great content! I became a new subscriber, within seconds. Thank you!
Ty having dance on Thursday so i just want to look stylish.
Hi. What's your reading on Roper Boots?
Lets Go! I've been wanting to try this out for awhile. Now I can pull it off!
Go for it!
Double pin roll is perfect at all
Pin roll and double is all I use
As an alternative to the chukka boot, you COULD go with a retro canvas court shoe commonly referred to as the "Chukka T."
Didn't know the deep cuff is a thing. You learn something new everyday.
excellent. Thank you.
Antonio, thanks! However, what do you think about tucking in the jeans into the boots itself and then lacing it, etc.? I that archaic or inappropriate?
Deep cuff looks ridiculous and only a complete mong would wear their jeans like that. What sort of style advice is this? lol
What's a "Mong?"
"A complete mong" haha I haven't heard that word in years lol
@@YakubibnEsau a mong is a Chinese duck that used to rape nazis
Rust Cohle 🤨?
ok thanks dad
Boot cut Jeasn for boots is the best
Thank you for this video. It really helped me. I followed you and watch your videos from Suriname a country in south America.
Thanks for being here Fanuel. Appreciate the support.
this brings back memories from high school.
Nice tip with the rubber band
I would prefer selvedge jeans when using the deep cuff and any style of rolled or cuffed jeans.
Very informative video
Do you have a link to the jeans you used for the little videos and the pictures? I really dig that jeans.
I always for the stacks
Thanks Antonio for your time really appreciate it, nice job on the video 👍
Thanks Luis! Which method do you prefer?
+Real Men Real Style Well I'm not sure they all look good and I really just put my pants on and just let them be,lol😆
What color socks do you recommend pairing with jeans and boots?
Each time I watch one of these videos, I sense the 80's and 90's influence hardly any modern style influence.
What do you recommend?
getting rid of skinny jeans
Looking at getting the Thursday boots Co. Wingtips. Are these boots going to work like the brown lace up boots in this video as far as rolls go? Also are these boots essentially going to be able to be worn with the same types of out fits?
Can you wear black leather chelsea boots with anything other than black jeans/pants?
Gracias por tus consejos.
What about an inside cuffing ? I mostly do that on the jeans which are a bit too long, it looks cleaner to me.
Great video Antonio!
Really considering getting a pair of Thursday Boots, but why do they not have discount codes?
on their website they say something like they don't give discounts because they're already giving the cheapest price possible or something like that. you can try emailing them on their customer service page about getting flawed boots at a discount, but when I tried that they never responded.....
Their average leather quality isn't always on point but their suede is amazing. Highly recommend their suede options.
dumbnerd747 My Zunigga boy he already gave discount codes for thursday boots.
Go watch teachingmenfashion (TMF) he has codes and is also into style videos that are pretty good.
dumbnerd747 I honestly prefer Clark's over Thursday any day
Been waiting for this for too long. Thank you Antonio
Super! Which method do you prefer?
Is Thursday boot available in India?
Do these rules also apply if you’re wearing pants instead of jeans?
Since I got my first pair of Justin Ropers, been stacking my jeans. As was proper for any Texas boy. (Yes, I looking at you Antonio). Never looked back. Good video, as usual , but will never, ever roll my jeans. At least stacking is now considered “fashion forward” (who knew). I’m fashionable by accident.
