I love the concept of magic and as soon as Dr. Strange was introduced he instantly became one of my favorite characters. I'm excited for more magic in the MCU
The amount of people sleeping on Strange for his own movie is troublesome to say the least. Before 2016, I remember most of the mcu fandom not having the slightest idea who he even was. He typically got the praise he long deserved when he 1v1 Thanos. I like to think there's no real measure to what he's capable of.

Technically, Agathas wandavision quote of “Your power Exceeds that of the sorcerer supreme” no longer applies to Dr. Strange because Wong is now confirmed to be sorcerer supreme since Strange was snapped. This technically means that there’s still a chance that Base Dr. Strange could still be more powerful than Wanda but right now, I still believe she is more powerful due to her feats.

Strange is a great character but battles are some times decided on the convenient of the story, example you keep comparing his power level to Thanos and how he was able to go toe to toe with him but you have to remember that in the same movie just a little early he fought Ebony Maw and was defeated, and Ebony Maw was no where near the power level of Thanos when he had the infinity gauntlet. Still great video! It's funny how infinity glove Thanos struggles with him and Ebony Maw merely telekinetic chokes him unconscious with a piece of metal pipe. This is the golden age for comics in movie and I'm loving it.
To be fair, Dr. Strange pulled his better tricks out of his hat against Thanos. It was probably for the sake of the story he didn't do so well against Maw.

the most interesting abt Strange as a sorcerer is how versatile he is. the way he can conjur up different weapons/shields, perform reality-bending spells, give off energy blasts, transmute matter, teleport, etc. and he only gets better in each film he's in. imagine how OP he'll be in Multiverse of Madness
I believe that scaling is subject to specific aspects, and powers only matter to push narratives, if for instance scarlet witch is the villain, she will lose in the end, or lesser characters will scale to her in a one on one, irrespective of any feats or powers shown, scaling only matters when they are the protagonist and not the antagonist essentially
When it comes to the whole Dr Strange vs Scarlet Witch and who’s more powerful there is a easy way to explain it (apologies for how long this is): They are both more powerful than each other for different reasons. Strange has more variety of spells and ‘powers’ thus more powerful. Wanda has more inherent power and inherently powerful/destructive spells. She was even able to cast spells like a Probability Hex without knowing. People refer to the statement from the Darkhold that the Scarlet Witch’s power surpasses the Sorcerer Supreme. But we don’t know if that refers to Strange precisely or the typical ability level of the Sorcerer Supreme. But in Endgame, The Ancient One said that Strange would be the best of them, even her, and she drew extra power from the Dark Dimension, plus the powers she had as Sorcerer Supreme. When people talk about fighting Thanos, it’s important to note that Wanda fought a Thanos with no Infinity Stones and could’ve killed him. Where as Strange fought a Thanos with 4 Infinity Stones in a toe-to-toe / back and forth fight. He was fighting defensively in this moment so that Tony could rejoin the fight. What’s interesting to remember as well is that Wanda as the Scarlet Witch has way more power than she did as Wanda from AOU through to Endgame. She’s very new to her power and seemingly doesn’t have full control over her power or an understanding, although with her reading the Darkhold she may know more. But I imagine there will be checks and balances, like the more powerful she becomes, the stronger the influence Chthon may have over her? Strange on the other hand is way more familiar with his abilities and has access to hundreds of books to further his power. But Strange is more precise, experienced and skilled. He’s like a sniper. While Wanda is just angry and ‘spray & pray’ so she’s more like a Machine Gun. But in a fight, power isn’t everything. Skill, strategy, tactics and intelligence are vital. That’s the whole Batman vs Superman premise. So just because on the surface Wanda appears to be more powerful than Strange, doesn’t mean that Strange is completely outmatched by her or unable to beat her. In the ‘Avengers Dissembled’ comic, Wanda was going crazy and Dr Strange was able to beat her/incapacitate her. So in the comics Dr Strange has displayed he can beat her even though she’s more powerful. So I would say Wanda is more inherently powerful than Strange, Strange has more powers and abilities at his disposal.
It really depends. Like you said wanda is more like a machine gun while strange is like a sniper. I don’t see one as more powerful than the other. They’re both insanely powerful in different situations. If strange has the time stone I’d say that he is stronger but now that it is atomized I’d say they’re pretty even

And like I said, the nature of how his magic works, based on what we saw and were told in Doctor Strange, would imply that he could do anything if he knows the spell for it. The difference is Strange has to be consciously aware of this spell and it’s workings, where as it looks like Wanda doesn’t necessarily need to. Wanda currently just has the Darkhold. It’s a powerful book but it’s one of 1000s. Strange has way more. I think it’s also important to mention that Wanda only has her Chaos Magic, what she learns from the Darkhold & Agatha’s (but even then it appears more like she absorbed a large majority of it and mystical wisdom). There is no magic added by the Mind Stone. All the Mind Stone did was amplify her power and show her a vision of the future. There is no Nexus Being magic. This whole Nexus Being thing hasn’t actually been confirmed. Marvel have not stated she is a Nexus Being, they just referenced it with the Nexus Drug advert in Wanda Vision. And even then, it’s not a form of magic. And three of the magics you mentioned are all the same. Chaos Magic, Scarlet Witch Magic and Base Magic are the same magic. Her Base Magic (from AOU to Endgame) is the powers and abilities she knows how to use consciously. It’s Chaos Magic but she isn’t aware of it, nor does she fully know how to use it. The Magic she’s using as the Scarlet Witch is her Chaos Magic, just with her having more awareness of her using it, and it being more powerful. This is a problem with watching peoples fan theories online and with constantly having them bombarded at you. The best example I can think of is New Rockstars. Since WandaVision, they have began to talk about their theories and as if they are absolute fact, not an opinion or theory. Or look at the Dark Energy theory, which sounds really cool, so well done to MT for thinking of it. But it’s a theory that’s been pitched as being concrete and absolute. And then the causal viewer or fans of New Rockstars believe that it is the truth, then get disappointed when it isn’t. Look at the expectations of WandaVision. Those were fuelled by fan theories and references to comics. But that is all they are: fan theories. They aren’t concrete or absolute fact. New Rockstars aren’t the only one, but they’re the biggest and it isn’t all their fault. It is also the viewer who think that every word a person online says, when it comes to theories, is gospel truth.
Thanos should consider himself lucky strange had to be written out of the endgame fight by holding back the water. With no stones strange would wipe the floor with him
I feel like doctor strange power level will be affected by what the writers do with the vishanti but I do think scarlet witch will be more powerful because it seems like marvel is setting up some house of m level event with her .
Wanda will have to get her own movie to beat Dr. Strange. In the MCU, the star of the movie always wins. In Civil War.. Captain America beats Iron Man. In No Way Home, Spider-Man beats Dr. Strange. In Thor Ragnarok, Thor beats Hulk. See the pattern? The star of the movie always wins in the MCU. So in Doctor Strange 2, Wanda will lose to Dr. Strange if she is the villian because it's his movie.

While I loved this video I think you overlooked a huge contender for having as much power as strange. I am of course referring to Drax drawing a finger across his throat. Here he clearly shows insane speed with his decisive slice in a sideways motion across his throat as well as a lot of durability, as his throat is not sore after he does this. Of course I would be remiss to discount the great power it holds as it allows him to kill others in another dimension not mentioned in this video: his “imagination”. Lastly, he holds great hacks powers with this as he strikes so much fear into those in the room that he shakes(as seen in the scene in which he learns this dreadful power in the first Guardians movie). While he did not survive the battle with thanos, this is only because he did not have the chance to fight him one on one as strange got in the way. Like fingers making a snapping motion would be more powerful than drawing a line with his finger across his neck. Again, thanks for the video, but ignoring such a blatant challenger to Strange leaves me wondering the validity of it.

I think you should also include intellect as one of the factors to consider when ranking their powers. Doctor Strange has photographic memory: he masters knowledge very fast and with ease. Him studying the books in the Sanctum, no one knows the variety of spells he has up his sleeves.

I already know Quake is gonna rank high since she can hold her own against Ghost Rider, and her very last feat in Agents of SHIELD was taking out an entire fleet of starships (a feat we've only seen Carol do as well).

I have a really hard time believing the statement that thor was at his most powerfull in endgame like the writers said. Like he didnt even use much of his lightning only trying to fight thanos head on. He didnt even fly one single time in the final fight.
People don't know that Strange is proficient in almost all magic (even chaos magic which Wanda has) so if he were to go head to head in a fight strange would win. People will argue that Wanda can manipulate reality but strange literally almost broke the multiverse. I believe that that's a big one up for reality manipulation with in the borders of a town.
He didn't break Multiverse by choice that was a mistake in his spell.. (because of Peter's intervention) which was a dangerous spell he was not ready to use which is why Wong told him not to do. 😂 Wanda can break the multiverse without any use of spells cuz she's a nexus being.. the universal time flow depends upon her actions.

If we also look at the in comics stats listed on the marvel website we see that strange matches her in energy, fight skill, and strength but out ranks her in speed durability and intelligence which means he would be more powerful.

note that with thor's star feat thats just his durability. His Ap when throwing Stormbreaker is far higher and beyond planetary as a beam from all the stones couldn't stop it. No one in the mcu is stopping a full power stormbreaker throw. All his attacks are above that star feat but don't reach strombreaker throw tier.
Stormbreaker at best is interchangeable with thor who fought gorr who's stated to be a step up from hela who is planetary since she's superior to the tesseracts full power

We really haven't seen much from him in MCU. He used the Time Stone in order to bargain his way out of the situation in the first film. He lost to Maw and Thanos in IW. He was subdued by Spiderman in No Way Home. He was only a nuisance to Scarlett Witch in the second movie. He hasn't won any battle he's been in.

I think Thanos was only using a fraction of the power stone's power to slowly kill Thor, to mess with them. If he wanted to obliterate him, he would of been able to instantly.

While he is Sorcerer Supreme, he still often has to ask for boons from other deities for spells. Wanda is powered directly by Cthon as she is an Avatar of Cthon and a Nexus being. The MCU will Nerf her but at this moment, with the Darkhold; she is a multiversal threat. The closest version to that of Strange that we've seen is Strange Supreme from What-If. I have firm belief that the 'evil' strange from the next movie is either Strange as a disciple of Dormammu or Nightmare really messing with Strange's mind.

Your speed scaling is still way off. Maximum flying travel speed is not the same as combat speed. If they were going that fast, why is a normal human like Peter Quill able to function at all in combat with them?

I think Dr Strange is the strongest in the MCU. Mans opened up the multiverse with no infinity stone. He should have been able to solo Thanos with that kind of power honestly.

After i saw the fight between Strange and Thanos he has been one of my favourites, i just love his magic and how he uses it.

I believe that scaling is subject to specific aspects, and powers only matter to push narratives, if for instance scarlet witch is the villain, she will lose in the end, or lesser characters will scale to her in a one on one, irrespective of any feats or powers shown, scaling only matters when they are the protagonist and not the antagonist essentially

When it comes to the whole Dr Strange vs Scarlet Witch and who’s more powerful there is a easy way to explain it (apologies for how long this is):
They are both more powerful than each other for different reasons.
Strange has more variety of spells and ‘powers’ thus more powerful.
Wanda has more inherent power and inherently powerful/destructive spells. She was even able to cast spells like a Probability Hex without knowing.
People refer to the statement from the Darkhold that the Scarlet Witch’s power surpasses the Sorcerer Supreme. But we don’t know if that refers to Strange precisely or the typical ability level of the Sorcerer Supreme.
But in Endgame, The Ancient One said that Strange would be the best of them, even her, and she drew extra power from the Dark Dimension, plus the powers she had as Sorcerer Supreme.
When people talk about fighting Thanos, it’s important to note that Wanda fought a Thanos with no Infinity Stones and could’ve killed him.
Where as Strange fought a Thanos with 4 Infinity Stones in a toe-to-toe / back and forth fight. He was fighting defensively in this moment so that Tony could rejoin the fight.
What’s interesting to remember as well is that Wanda as the Scarlet Witch has way more power than she did as Wanda from AOU through to Endgame.
She’s very new to her power and seemingly doesn’t have full control over her power or an understanding, although with her reading the Darkhold she may know more. But I imagine there will be checks and balances, like the more powerful she becomes, the stronger the influence Chthon may have over her?
Strange on the other hand is way more familiar with his abilities and has access to hundreds of books to further his power.
But Strange is more precise, experienced and skilled. He’s like a sniper. While Wanda is just angry and ‘spray & pray’ so she’s more like a Machine Gun.
But in a fight, power isn’t everything. Skill, strategy, tactics and intelligence are vital. That’s the whole Batman vs Superman premise.
So just because on the surface Wanda appears to be more powerful than Strange, doesn’t mean that Strange is completely outmatched by her or unable to beat her.
In the ‘Avengers Dissembled’ comic, Wanda was going crazy and Dr Strange was able to beat her/incapacitate her. So in the comics Dr Strange has displayed he can beat her even though she’s more powerful.
So I would say Wanda is more inherently powerful than Strange, Strange has more powers and abilities at his disposal.

It really depends. Like you said wanda is more like a machine gun while strange is like a sniper. I don’t see one as more powerful than the other. They’re both insanely powerful in different situations. If strange has the time stone I’d say that he is stronger but now that it is atomized I’d say they’re pretty even

@@j_m12341 but Strange has way more books, resources and objects to help him. And like I said, the nature of how his magic works, based on what we saw and were told in Doctor Strange, would imply that he could do anything if he knows the spell for it.
The difference is Strange has to be consciously aware of this spell and it’s workings, where as it looks like Wanda doesn’t necessarily need to.
Wanda currently just has the Darkhold. It’s a powerful book but it’s one of 1000s. Strange has way more.
I think it’s also important to mention that Wanda only has her Chaos Magic, what she learns from the Darkhold & Agatha’s (but even then it appears more like she absorbed a large majority of it and mystical wisdom).
There is no magic added by the Mind Stone. All the Mind Stone did was amplify her power and show her a vision of the future.
There is no Nexus Being magic. This whole Nexus Being thing hasn’t actually been confirmed. Marvel have not stated she is a Nexus Being, they just referenced it with the Nexus Drug advert in Wanda Vision. And even then, it’s not a form of magic.
And three of the magics you mentioned are all the same. Chaos Magic, Scarlet Witch Magic and Base Magic are the same magic.
Her Base Magic (from AOU to Endgame) is the powers and abilities she knows how to use consciously. It’s Chaos Magic but she isn’t aware of it, nor does she fully know how to use it.
The Magic she’s using as the Scarlet Witch is her Chaos Magic, just with her having more awareness of her using it, and it being more powerful.
This is a problem with watching peoples fan theories online and with constantly having them bombarded at you.
The best example I can think of is New Rockstars. Since WandaVision, they have began to talk about their theories and as if they are absolute fact, not an opinion or theory.
Or look at the Dark Energy theory, which sounds really cool, so well done to MT for thinking of it. But it’s a theory that’s been pitched as being concrete and absolute.
And then the causal viewer or fans of New Rockstars believe that it is the truth, then get disappointed when it isn’t. Look at the expectations of WandaVision. Those were fuelled by fan theories and references to comics.
But that is all they are: fan theories. They aren’t concrete or absolute fact.
New Rockstars aren’t the only one, but they’re the biggest and it isn’t all their fault. It is also the viewer who think that every word a person online says, when it comes to theories, is gospel truth.

Wanda will have to get her own movie to beat Dr. Strange. In the MCU, the star of the movie always wins. In Civil War.. Captain America beats Iron Man. In No Way Home, Spider-Man beats Dr. Strange. In Thor Ragnarok, Thor beats Hulk. See the pattern? The star of the movie always wins in the MCU. So in Doctor Strange 2, Wanda will lose to Dr. Strange if she is the villian because it's his movie.

I had no idea about how op strange was before i watched infinity war. It's awesome that all powerhouses of mcu (except hulk) got to shine in the film. Oh shit. Strange divided by 0 in the dark dimension. He broke the multiverse in his first movie and we didn't even realize it.
While I loved this video I think you overlooked a huge contender for having as much power as strange. I am of course referring to Drax drawing a finger across his throat. Here he clearly shows insane speed with his decisive slice in a sideways motion across his throat as well as a lot of durability, as his throat is not sore after he does this. Of course I would be remiss to discount the great power it holds as it allows him to kill others in another dimension not mentioned in this video: his “imagination”. Lastly, he holds great hacks powers with this as he strikes so much fear into those in the room that he shakes(as seen in the scene in which he learns this dreadful power in the first Guardians movie). While he did not survive the battle with thanos, this is only because he did not have the chance to fight him one on one as strange got in the way. Like fingers making a snapping motion would be more powerful than drawing a line with his finger across his neck. Again, thanks for the video, but ignoring such a blatant challenger to Strange leaves me wondering the validity of it.

I think you should also include intellect as one of the factors to consider when ranking their powers. Doctor Strange has photographic memory: he masters knowledge very fast and with ease. Him studying the books in the Sanctum, no one knows the variety of spells he has up his sleeves.

I already know Quake is gonna rank high since she can hold her own against Ghost Rider, and her very last feat in Agents of SHIELD was taking out an entire fleet of starships (a feat we've only seen Carol do as well).

I have a really hard time believing the statement that thor was at his most powerfull in endgame like the writers said. Like he didnt even use much of his lightning only trying to fight thanos head on. He didnt even fly one single time in the final fight.

People don't know that Strange is proficient in almost all magic (even chaos magic which Wanda has) so if he were to go head to head in a fight strange would win. People will argue that Wanda can manipulate reality but strange literally almost broke the multiverse. I believe that that's a big one up for reality manipulation with in the borders of a town.
He didn't break Multiverse by choice that was a mistake in his spell.. (because of Peter's intervention) which was a dangerous spell he was not ready to use which is why Wong told him not to do. 😂
Wanda can break the multiverse without any use of spells cuz she's a nexus being.. the universal time flow depends upon her actions.

Strange doing it by accident still is him breaking the multiverse also if Peter hadn't intervened then he would have been able to cast the spell no problem. So you just stated that Strange can do powerful spells with no problem if not asked to change them multiple times mid-casting. As Strange stated "we have used it for less". Also I was talking strictly movies not comics so movies Wanda hasn't become a Nexus being yet. Now if we look at comics we can see Strange has become the equivalent to a god before. If we also look at the in comics stats listed on the marvel website we see that strange matches her in energy, fight skill, and strength but out ranks her in speed durability and intelligence which means he would be more powerful.

note that with thor's star feat thats just his durability. His Ap when throwing Stormbreaker is far higher and beyond planetary as a beam from all the stones couldn't stop it. No one in the mcu is stopping a full power stormbreaker throw.
All his attacks are above that star feat but don't reach strombreaker throw tier.
Stormbreaker at best is interchangeable with thor who fought gorr who's stated to be a step up from hela who is planetary since she's superior to the tesseracts full power

We really haven't seen much from him in MCU. He used the Time Stone in order to bargain his way out of the situation in the first film. He lost to Maw and Thanos in IW. He was subdued by Spiderman in No Way Home. He was only a nuisance to Scarlett Witch in the second movie.

I think Thanos was only using a fraction of the power stone's power to slowly kill Thor, to mess with them. If he wanted to obliterate him, he would of been able to instantly.
He was using Thor as leverage against Loki in order to get him to summon the tesseract

U made a very wonderfull video lots of great insight. The only thing I didn't like was how they made him look dumbed down I'm Spiderman no way home. I swear out of all MCU characters Strange and Wanda are the 2 characters whose powers I would want the most but obviously I would go with Wanda due to her feats and agatha saying she's more powerful and that Wanda doesn't need incantations or hand gestures to cast a spell while when stephen was unable to talk or restrained he couldn't use his magic I mean he was trapped in the mirror world by peter in no way home and was only able to escape because NED opened a sling ring portal. But besides Wanda strange would be my number 2 in whose powers would I rather have.

While he is Sorcerer Supreme, he still often has to ask for boons from other deities for spells.
Wanda is powered directly by Cthon as she is an Avatar of Cthon and a Nexus being.
The MCU will Nerf her but at this moment, with the Darkhold; she is a multiversal threat.
The closest version to that of Strange that we've seen is Strange Supreme from What-If.

Wong has been the sorcerer supreme since the blip started and is still the sorcerer supreme as of current mcu time.

Your speed scaling is still way off. Maximum flying travel speed is not the same as combat speed. If they were going that fast, why is a normal human like Peter Quill able to function at all in combat with them?
Friend, buddy, pal, that’s how scaling works. You have to make these concessions for the universe to make sense. In the comics a “normal human” like Batman or Black Widow can react faster than light. It’s not that serious. Also, Peter is a half celestial 😘
