EP15 | Ceiling battens, Insulation & lighting cables | Ducato - Boxer - Promaster | Vanlife | VanFam

In this video you will see us working on the ceiling battens to assist with a structure to fit the PIR / celotex insulation. This is a simple but also a nasty job, the insulation itself is horrible to breathe in or get in your eyes, as your working directly underneath it.

Meeks was able to get away from the office and give me a hand with this, which has been a godsend as it has really sped up the process!
We used 25mm celotex style insulation, it doesn't matter if you use kingspan, ecotherm or any other style of this product as all their "R" values are pretty much the same.

Once the insulation was completed, I then "chased" a channel in the insulation and put in the lighting load cables, these cables are fed back to the lights switching area ready for the second fix. I held the cables into their position using foil tape, and tried hard to make sure any foam surfaces were taped up to avoid trapping moisture in the future.
