great video! man I'm really trying hard doing these seasonal niches but really got nothing. :( . I wna do personalized but don't know what niche/products. I need a mentor.
People, do your research and take these videos with a grain of salt. There is nothing easy about being successful on Etsy because of all the people who flood the site thinking they’ll make passive, living wage.
I preach that too! Owning the business is the hardest thing you may ever do in your life, check out the rest of my videos, I never sell the dream about what it takes haha
True, but being a corporate slave or broke ain't easy either. I just started selling on Etsy and have already made money. It would be a lot harder if I didn't have these videos.
$1 million GROSS = approx $200K GROSS after expenses and before IRS taxes which are likely to leave you with approx. $150K and that's extremely, extremely rare on etsy. all the while at any moment your shop can be banned without explanation. i don't call that a secure business model. the platforms and the youtube POD gurus and the print providers are the ones making the most $ by far. I have 10 years experience in POD and I'm about done with wasting my precious time on it.
I mean that pertains to all 3rd party selling online, amazon and ebay included, its what you sign up for you want to build an online brand, you could argue shopify is safer but even still when a social media algorithm changes it could destroy your cost per acquisition which happened to us. Does not negate however that people are still becoming successful even today
But I would say with older sellers like yourself and this happened to me in my fast fashion niche too (your not the only one) is your used to getting spoiled with easy money and cheap CPAs and so when comp arises and you realize its not as easy as it used to be you quit instead of building a better business, there is no wrong answer either btw move on to a new venture that is okay too but it definitely does not mean the business does not work or you can not make a profitable exit from it. Also my guess is net margins after marketing on that last business model I shared are def way hire than 20% after your run the numbers. You may have not watched the whole video but I am not sharing only POD shop ideas
I haven't used Printify in a while, but can't you choose who your distributor is? If I remember correctly, the key is to know geographically where most of your customers reside, then tailor the distributor to those parameters, so that you're not having shipments from, let's say, the Netherlands, being sent to the US. I'm not sure if that's the issue, but I hope that helps a little!
@@kentschroer8208it’s 9.99 for a Gildan 18000 if you don’t have premium. Tees are around 4.75. Ish. You can choose your print provider, but they are around the same with production costs and shipping.
I never thought that Etsy was about selling things that sound like they were made in sweat shops, to become a millionaire and feed the bank accounts of Etsy share holders, ruthless, cut throat capitalism isn't the model that was sold to crafters and artists originally is it?
Sadly no as stakeholders get involved markets definitely change :/ still the best platform for handmade sellers like me as it helps us stand out against Chinese resellers that we are truly handmade

My biggest problem is that printify charges so much for shipping, for me it’s $9.99 per item. Is this a bad thing?
For what product ? You can charge it to your customer
