    Hi Hannah! Thank you so much for this - it's so helpful! Do you start ads immediately when you list something new? Do you turn ads on for both of the (assuming new) duplicate listings immediately?

    • @EcomHannah
      @EcomHannah 2 місяці тому

      I do right away but the safer play is only turning on the ads for performing listings it is up to you and how aggressive you want to be

    Ahhhh the banana backpack, a classic example of Etsy SEO. Sadly it's not true anymore, and hasn't been for quite a long, long time. It may affect your likelihood to be chosen for display, but it will have virtually no effect on where you are ranked. That's down to personalization/conversion/marketplace score primarily, plus localization for some non-US countries. It also makes no difference where in the title your keywords are as far as SEO goes. It should be remembered that's the bit buyers see in search though, so it's best for words that will entice the right buyer to click. I wish Etsy would clean up their seller handbook and help directory, there's so much that's wrong and misleading.

    I’m selling lamps, and using Erank I can only find 10 tags that get good search volume and low competition. If I push to 13 tags the last 3 will either not describe the product well or go into high competition tags.
    Right now I limit to the best 10. Do you recommend adding 3 more just to have them? And push into low search volume categories?

      It okay to use keywords that also have high comp in most cases you can not avoid it you just want to prioritize low comp if you can

    Great video! I’ve heard people recommending filling in all the attributes in the listing, but my question is, many times my products don’t fit into only one ‘occasion’, ‘holiday’ or ‘room’ that they have in the drop-down list. In those cases, if I just pick 1 from the list, will this limit the visibility of my listing? Thanks!

    • @EcomHannah
      @EcomHannah 4 місяці тому +1

      Yes, you don’t need to fill it out if it doesn’t apply to you, but if it does apply to you, I would

    1:09 Hi, how do you know what to charge for postage as 1 customer might order 1 item and another customer might order more things so it would weigh more, so how will you know what your ' flat postage ' should be?
    Also if you have a $10 flat rate postage on all shipping, a customer like i said might order 1 thing and the weight will be less butbyoure still charging $10 shipping?

    • @EcomHannah
      @EcomHannah 3 місяці тому +1

      You can set it up to be calculated rate, so it’s based off the weight of the items together

    • @EcomHannah
      @EcomHannah 3 місяці тому +1

      Be sure to add the weight on every listing

      @@EcomHannah Oh, so the shipping rate is calculated after the order? You don't have to advertise the shipping fee on the listing like with Amazon?
      I haven't opened an etsy store yet I'm just trying to learn first so I don't make mistakes

      @@AussieMumVLOGS It will make more sense if you open an etsy account and see all the options there, its much more simple than amazon

      @@EcomHannah Thank you, sorry for the late reply it's 6.30am here in Australia hehe I replied as soon as I woke up 😊
      I'm glad it will be easier once I've opened an etsy shop.
      With Amazon I'm just a customer but when I buy things it shows in the advertising the price of item and item of shipping so I was wondering how it all happens.
      Hey, that would be a good video idea for you, to show us how the shipping works, you'd get a lot of views 😃

    I turned my existing Etsy account into a POD seller acount a few months ago. So it lists my shop age from when I opened my account many years ago. Is it better to open a new store? Will this affect my success on Etsy? I have not had any sales yet, just a few favorites items.

    i thougth re-selling was a suspend reason? what happens if i just have a great listing that sells, and duplicate that, and get even more sales with the other one? isn't that a suspend reason?

      You can duplicate a listing, but I wouldn’t recommend just duplicating the same exact listing I would split test it with changing a variable about the listing

    I'm learning that all of these tips are fine but no one ever seems to talk about the product or the price point. I've been over and over my listings for two years trying SEO, Tags and Titles and I'm coming to the conclusion that the stuff I make just doesn't interest people unless I'm willing to give the stuff away and I end top making $5 hr for creating exceptional and unique items.

      Normally if you have a good data sample of products and done all the keywords research and nothing is working its normally a product problem not an SEO problem. People like to blame SEO because that is the easier thing to fix. Something about the product is not competing right or you just are missing something all together
