I love the fact that you spit the fire around the business operations across the board. That comes from running a business and experience. I’m a fan and appreciate the value you’re putting out!
Girl I love it! Profitree what a great name too! I have a math degree so I literally have a spreadsheet with 49 sheets of all the print-on-demand items that I could ever possibly sell all broken down with what it costs me what I should be charging what is a 25% off sale how much that would be so something like this would be awesome!
You have no idea how timely this video was. I was literallyresearching the business models yesterday by watching a bunch of random videos. Trying to figure out some sort of more-ish passive way to make income.
You always ask the right questions … damn. I’ve been debating whether to switch my business model. I’m doing great right now but am I going to want to do this in 5 years? Nah, not really.
@@EcomHannah I already filed an appeal. How long you think it will take before I get it back? Also, what do you think I missed that made them suspend my account?
Well in my case it is not 10% but way more. From 543.62 Etsy took 191.19 for fees leaving me with a net profit of only 352.43. I am selling digital mockups. Is it possible that Etsy raised the fees to much higher?
Look, on the monthly statement tab it shows: Your current not profit on Etsy for February 2024 is 352.43 and then below it on the left side it says: sales: 543.62 and below it on the right side it says: Fees: -191.19. I did not run any ads because I have a brand new shop and have not yet learned how to run ads efficiently. I remember that I have heard countless other UA-camr saying that for digital download shops only 10% will be taken from Etsy from the revenue and 90% would be profit. But as you see this is not the case for my shop. I paid all listing fees back in 2023, last year, when I launched the shop and the renewal date for the first listings will only be in March. Anyway thank you so much for the great content on your channel it helped me tremendously and I am sure many other Etsy shop starters alike. 😘 @@EcomHannah
You can and should do a reverse image search from time to time on your best selling listings. It doesn’t prevent it from happening, but if you find copycats you can contact them and ask to take the listing down
Its so hard to stop this, if they copy straight up you can report to etsy if they are slightly changing it maybe try to ask them to be more creative instead of straight ripping you off or you will take action, even though there is not much you can do unless they are stealing your images
Thanks@@EcomHannah ! I previously messaged the person and asked nicely, but continues to do it. I guess it’s part of business and some people are ok with bad business practices to try to get ahead. Congrats on ProfitTree! 😊
You can start reporting their listings for copyright infringement, if they’re really close to your design. I’ve gotten some thieves listings removed this way. The worst ones will counterclaim, though. But most don’t, they know what they did.

Yea you have to stay true to yourself it will take you much farther in business in the long term
Can my shop have both POD and digital downloads?
yes!
I was barely setting up my Etsy shop and got suspended already towards the end. I don't even know what I did or what's missing. SMH
That is normal for pod shops

It is hard to tell did you have anything potentially trademarked? make a twitter blast with your store name and tag them and they will answer @90
@@EcomHannah I barely upload one pic that's ai-generated and boom, got banned out of nowhere. 😪😪😪

Not possible, do you have ads turned on?

How does profittree get the data? API?
Yes :]
About digital downloads: I’m worried that a buyer will buy my file to rip off my work. Is this a valid concern?
Yes! I had this happen to me. And also another shop trying to copy my listings. But it’s still worth it!
yes it is bound to happen in any niche not just downloads :/

I have an Etsy shop and have a creeper literally copying all my listings (but not exactly) and posting in their store. 🙄 is there anything I can do?

I thought Etsy is a shop for handmade stuff...this kills everything, print on demand and digital download
Oh man digital downloads and POD are taking over it seems like now a days
Print on demand has been on Etsy since 2017, digital files a lot longer. Still haven’t killed anything!
I agree! @@RailinX
