I've got this fella and have very few issues with it. The articulation is pretty damn decent, the accompanying joint tolerances in places are somewhat mixed - dropped a little shock oil into the feet to loosen them slightly, tightened a hip (nitpicking there though, it wasn't *quite* as tight as I wanted it). It's painted and sculpted well. Not Threezero level well, but he doesn't look at all out of place alongside my DLX collection. I don't think the plastic quality is up there with the 3P greats but I don't think it's particularly poor either. No issues with screws or stress. Alt mode is there because they could, and it's no worse than any other alt mode based on a design that could never transform. Probably better, because gunmode Shockwave basically transforms one way. There are a couple of vids online that help make a relatively straightforward process even easier if you're struggling. I paid 140 and for that price I've got little to complain about. Paid more for PX Cacus and planted that thing straight into the floor. The final rant, about it not knowing what it wants to be and stepping out of the way of the guys who make better is the one to take note of. Because it wants to be a transformable representation of BBM Shockwave. Which it achieves. It wants to be able to stand alongside other 3P representations of BBM designs. Which it achieves. And it wants to be able to hold its own against Threezero's non-transforming DLX offerings which I personally feel it (just about) gets away with visually, though falls way short of in terms of quality. You're not paying the prices Threezero charge for their BBM products though either. And for a first offering (if it is, we know how this game plays), it's a solid effort with room for improvement. It ain’t time to pick the ball up and take it home. And even if this isn't their first rodeo, I fail to see how that warrants the level of vitriol, however entertaining, on display here. An interesting review.
I agree also, but (and I can't believe I'm saying this!) in bobby's defence I know how easy it is to get irritated while transforming an mp that's not a breeze and almost none are, I absolutely hate transforming my mp bots because I don't want to break anything and I plain just don't enjoy it! The only bot I dont mind transforming is open play big cannon and I've still only done it a couple times and the only reason I transformed my mp10 was to display it in truck mode with my custom g2 style trailer I painted next to my te-01!
I bet you it really is a good posable figure as a display piece. No one’s buying this to keep it in laser cannon mode. It looks beautiful and well built. That being said, this was one of Bobby’s most entertaining reviews.
Wow, rough day Bobby? This figure is sooo much better than many other figures he's given better reviews to. I have it, really like it, looks beautiful, poses great, joints are solid. It looked like there was really only a couple of areas he had issues with on the legs that I don't think he was doing right. Other reviewers love this figure, lol.
@@travissjostrom8064 Looks great, maybe, but is the quality any good? Regardless, we're going to have to get some examples of "other figures he's given better reviews to" in order to gauge what exactly your metric is for _this_ review...
@@GareWorks I don't have time to audit his reviews, but plenty of times he has said, "this mode isn't great, but in this mode it really shines" type of reviews and been ok with that. If you watch the other reviews of this fig, Bobby just wasn't transforming it right and the other reviewers really like it. Materials are a B+, Paint is an A+, Posability is an A, Transformation is a C at worst, and alt-mode is probably a C. Considering it will stay in Robot mode, that's A+,A,B+ across the three categories that matter to me, and price is an A+. Check out PrimeVsPrime or Benscollectables review on it.
"You got a factory? Make toilet bowl seats or something useful." 😂😂😂 God damn, bobby, even their own mother won't recognize them after a burn like that.
Shockwave used the Creation Matrix to build new Decepticons by stealing the programming from Optimus's disembodied head, maybe it's a reference to that?
I didn't have any issues pegging anything together but I was confused as hell with the legs the first time through lol. When it's in Lazer mode it literally goes limp and bends in half on me lmao. It can't support its own weight in alt mode for sure. I need one of the stands like you have in the video? Where can I get one because I don't know if this thing is ever going back to bot mode as much as I love it in bot mode lmao
Raaaaah, Bobby SMASH! I know it shouldn't amuse me as much as it did but what can I say, sometimes it's the simple things. I appreciate you sacrificing your sanity to improve mine.
It'd work well as a premium action figure - but at a 40-60 USD pricepoint max. Glad to see you're always honest about these things. Looking forward to the next one!
i just got it. exellent figure. i love it. no it's not 3zero. but it's half the price with transformabilty. i don't think it's only half the quality. it's maybe 80%. that works for me. oh 1 complaint. no thigh rotation.
This kinda reminds me a little bit of the Shockwave design from the Transformers 2007 movie video game. He was a triple changer who turned into an attack helicopter and an artillery emplacement. I always wanted a toy from that design.
Dude! I'm cracking up at how pissed this thing made you. I can't believe how many companies have been making bots based on those first 10 minutes of Bumblebee. Great review, not many people like taking the bad with the good.
This thing is beautiful for what it's supposed to be, and makes me wish I had more of a place for it in my collection. I think if the head didn't look like a 1950s car radio, I might have gone in on it anyway.
For a toy that costs Chinese collectors on average less than $95 USD and can go even lower when there are sales events, it is actually quite cost-effective…
Starts video. Cannon on wrong side. Hose not in right connection to cannon. Lol but you losing your shit over this one was brilliant🤣🤣 I had to have it because it's a cool looking Shockwave and I'm a Shockwave collector and the robot mode looks gorgeous and poses well but yeah, it's got it's issues. Mine just sits on the shelf looking pretty.
Damn dude. HAHAH Dont' get me wrong. Keep it up. Very insightful commentary on a piece that could easily have happy triggered an ADD TO CART for anyone enjoying this line.
I rate Bobby highly as a reviewer. He’s engaging and generally makes reasoned points however, every now and then you get a review like this where it’s way off the mark to the point where you start wondering if theres an agenda at play. Whether he acknowledges it or not or even, if it’s a subconscious thing, there’s a degree of favouritism, at times, misplaced in his reviews of certain toy companies and then, like here, a pretty unfair bashing of a product. Don’t get me wrong though, it all adds to the entertainment. Looking forward to my copy, even after this review - ordered on the back of Ben’s review and will revisit this comment I’ve made when I get it in hand…
I checked out the company’s other preorders after watching your first impressions yesterday. They have a bunch of MP scale bumblebee movie figures coming. Guess that’s a market for some people
I think RobertD gets those solely to see you deal with and secrectly hopes you break them so he can make fun of your gorilla hands /heavy hands transforming them. No offence ment but he does say you crunch peices

Well. Someone was having a bad day. With all due respect, Bobby, you did a fair review, but on this and some of your other reviews, your disinterest for a lot of these figures is really showing through, and it kind of overshadows the points you're trying to make.
I don't pay for toy review DLC from anyone - if your extended opinion is relevant to the main review, put it in the damn review - but from today's Sit Down Saturday it sounds like there's something discussed in his, likely revolving around where this toy comes from/who's reviewed it initially, that's a problem for him. I'm not arsed enough to find out for sure, but it looks like it's informed the final thoughts. Which is unfair to those who don't shell out the coin for a full review. Which on reflection given this new information, this certainly isn't. Doesn't alter my (largely positive) experience with it or many others now it's in hand. And I'm not saying that decision to keep those things behind a paywall was a bozo move on his part, but it definitely had bozo tendencies 🤡
Thanks . I was gonna buy this. Shockwave is my favorite character but if I pay 150 for something that is painted well and looks good sculpt wise but labsolutely no hardware in sight rachets,die-cast etc and makes me want to hunt down the idiots who gave the ok to start production . You know like Jay and silent Bob in that movie. Not the buddy Christ one. The other.. lol. Good review.
I paid a bit less than that at showZstore and love this figure. Great display piece. No problems with mine (except getting the gun on the arm was tight), rather pretty incredible.

lol I love the translation of frustration through the video. Not that I don't trust it, just that I know I would commiserate if I was doing it as well.
That looks like even less of an alt mode than Mech Alliance Sound Warrior. That was its name, right? The good-looking BBMovie Soundwave that turns into sort of a chubby tank with speakers on it?
Can we just get an episode of you talking shit on stuff cause the rant about the quality had me rolling. 😂 Thanks for putting up with shit like this so most of us won’t have to.
Figures that try to make an alt mode into something but end up being nothing just seems like a waste and the energy could've gone to something else. Three Zero are good at that, if it ain't going to transform let's focus on articulation, sculpt, paint, tolerances, and build. Just because it should transform doesn't mean it always has to. Especially if you're a collector that just wants to put a good representation of a character in robot mode on the shelf and nothing more. This isn't for me but thought I'd share my opinion. Thanks for the entertaining video as always.😁👍
I almost want to buy it just to see if I share your opinion Bobby and I would love to hear what your friend Robert D as to say about this TF action figure. I don't actually know Robert D, I've spoke to him once through a post on a Legends FB page but it was only a couple of comments where he pretended not to be himself while trying to start a conversation about you but I figured him out very quickly we had some laughs and our interaction stopped there. From what I can tell about him I believe he was capable of asking you to review this TF action figure knowing you were going to hate it. I've seen some reviews about this TF action figure but you're the first reviewer trashing it, in fact the other reviewers actually liked it and some really liked it a lot. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
@@rikkib8220 Unsure why you think having/not having a channel makes someone's opinion valid or not. If Bobby didnt want conversations happening, he would close comments.
@Charlotte Andor firstly "overreacting with his rant, per usual" is not asking for conversation, it's talking $#!+. Secondly asking for his UA-cam channel for me to watch his opinion is 1000% conversing with him

Oh man, that dangling spring during final words was distracting and hilarious at the same time! :D it almost looked as if your ("slightly" annoyed) voice was moving it :D Robot mode looks really good, too bad nothing else was up to standard...
Tbh i was really surprised by it. Bought it not knowing if i would want it, but it looks great and pairs well with the threezero line. Mind you, i didn't need an altmode and i will never transform it.
I was thinking about getting him to put with my ThreeZero figures. Thank goodness I waited! Gonna have to pass on this one. And hopefully ThreeZero will possibly give us one!
im a shockwave stan, and im sorry you felt lots negative energy towards this. to me even though i dont own this i would accept it with open arms. ive notice the things that bother you the most are clearance issues and weight distribution and being a movie-verse toy doesnt help either. i think the name sucks, a lazy attempt, but as a new company this is a good show. no way a slam dunk but not as trash as you make it seem. i usually agree with your overall impressions with a figure but the only thing holding this thing back from being successful is it’s price and design wise im not a big fan of it’s scale to other contemporaries
Damn Bobby tell us what you really mean! You finally cracked! I loved it brother. I've been waiting years for you to snap and I wasn't disappointed. Pour a few glasses and chill buddy. That was entertaining as hell. Rock on! 😁✌
I can't stand the Bumblebee movie designs either. All the G1 characters are fat and wide, just like Shockwave here. Definitely not something I'd buy. It looks pretty and I agree that probably has and will trick people into buying it. I'm surprised a figure of this size has no ratchet joints, and it seems to (poorly) copy a lot of the already-poor Masterpiece Shockwave's engineering (but at least they managed to fold the head away properly unlike Takara).
It’s funny, you can actually hear the sounds the plastic makes when you manipulate it, and it has that sound that cheaply made figures make. It’s a weird “plastic hollow” type sound that you don’t get with much better made figures. All I can say, is thank god I’m not a fan of this garbage. Thank you sir for an awesome rant and review.
WOW!!! Someone was having a shitty day and decided to vent. Bobby, I love your reviews and usually share your fair and objective opinions... But there is obviously some kind of venom behind this one and it is NOT objective or fair. I have this figure and couldn't disagree more vehemently about this ... "review"??? if that is what you're calling it. It matches up to ThreeZero very well. Nothing ThreeZero DLX has ratchets, this doesn't either but all the friction joints are well toleranced, tight and smooth. The plastic feels good and it is painted and articulated almost as good as a ThreeZero DLX. The design is dead on with little exception. I will agree that the eye does look dead without the LED illuminated and I will give you that. I will also give you that the Alt mode absolutely sucks. They should have just made a non transformable figure since Shockwave never transforms in ANY of the live action films. I have transformed it and I did not experience ANY of the issues that you had. It is pretty simple and intuitive and everything tabs in solid. The forearm blaster was initially a bit difficult but after the first time plugging it into the forearm, it was fine. You obviously have some underlying subconscious issue with the live action designs that you are unwilling to admit. Would I rather have one from Threezero? Shure, but they will never make one. They just keep making Optimus and Bumble Bee over and over and that is about it. Bobby, don't film mad :)
Was gonna say this is just bobby being biased towards anything movie related however he gave a really good review for the Three Zero Bumblebee Movie Soundwave so the quality of this figure must of been really bad as he says it was. Still don't think he had to put the stank on it but it was pretty damn funny
Well said, I only hope the company watches this video or someone relates them the feedback, about making big bots with no ratchet joints is a big NO NO. 🤔 just start making action figures. Good review the more emotional the better. Have a great day Peace
Millennial and GenZ collectors must be easy to please lol, because most 3P offerings from the bayverse are just like this gar-bagè. Won’t be long before the youngins from TFW at over here white knighting this abomination.
These designs leave a bad taste in my mouth. Whilst Bumblebee lacks the Bay-related crassness of the first five films, it has, from a Transformers perspective, all the same problems. If they really wanted these designs to respect G1, they could've done better; if they wanted to do something new and creative, they could've done better; worst of all, the fandom demonstrated that they'll drop 'em for a few tetrajets! This figure does have some good transformation ideas, I suppose.
This thing looks exactly like the awful Mechanical Alliance figures of Blitzwing and Soundwave that I had the "pleasure" to handle. All looks, no substance. Even the weathering I think doesn't work in it's favor. It just looks dirty. If Takara continues to do these Bumblebee movie designs in the fashion they did with MPM-12 in their Movie Masterpiece line, it might be one of the few recent occasions where HasTak actually beats 3rd Party (at least when it comes to transforming figures). Thanks for saving me 150 bucks.
I agree. The weathering looks off. If you put it side by side with 3Zero or Yolo-park offerings, it wouldn't look like they are from the same collection. I think they need more silver weather in the purple parts, like battle scars or something like that. They used a dark shade that makes it look like it is stained with grease, like a car's mechanic after a day of work.
Everybody seems to love this. But like you,I'm not a fan of the bumblebee designs so I just have no interest. Which makes it easy to hit him with the old Nancy Regan. Just say no. Maybe if it was like 40 bucks or something. Enjoyable review🤣🤣. It gave me combiner wars Menasor flashbacks. Thanks!
Why do you not like the bumblebee movie designs? They add a sense of realism and extra complexity, while still being tangible and true to the original characters. It's a perfect balance that's achieved

Skullface.
Bingo toys??........that says it all. Love your energy on this review.
Oooofff... SALTY!!!!
I haven’t heard you this angry since combiner wars menadaur, wwow
Eh, I've got one, it's fine. BSF's overreacting with his rant, as usual.
Cool. What's your UA-cam page with your review on it so we can go check it out?
@@rikkib8220 Unsure why you think having/not having a channel makes someone's opinion valid or not. If Bobby didnt want conversations happening, he would close comments.
@Charlotte Andor firstly "overreacting with his rant, per usual" is not asking for conversation, it's talking $#!+.
Secondly asking for his UA-cam channel for me to watch his opinion is 1000% conversing with him
You know Bobby, I've seen your bias affect many of your reviews. It's time someone stood up and told you something.
Please, be kinder to Tigertrack. He doesn't deserve your ire. 🤭
Something tells me Skully ain’t feeln this one. The pisstivity was highly entertaining. Im waiting for something to fly off Tigertracks one day.
13:30 👀 👀 👀 😨😨😨 damn this toy sucks!!! Get the fuck outta here Bingo Toys
😧
Oh man, that dangling spring during final words was distracting and hilarious at the same time! :D it almost looked as if your ("slightly" annoyed) voice was moving it :D
Robot mode looks really good, too bad nothing else was up to standard...
It looks pretty good, but I think it should scale with the mpm line and not with Threezero figures.
Tbh i was really surprised by it. Bought it not knowing if i would want it, but it looks great and pairs well with the threezero line. Mind you, i didn't need an altmode and i will never transform it.
Now tell me what you really think of it 😂
Gotta be in the patreon for those types of videos haha
@@fpow5284 In other words, a pay wall for content
I was thinking about getting him to put with my ThreeZero figures. Thank goodness I waited! Gonna have to pass on this one. And hopefully ThreeZero will possibly give us one!
100% agree! I’m reselling mine on ebay, very unhappy about it.
👀 The nerd rages.
im a shockwave stan, and im sorry you felt lots negative energy towards this. to me even though i dont own this i would accept it with open arms. ive notice the things that bother you the most are clearance issues and weight distribution and being a movie-verse toy doesnt help either. i think the name sucks, a lazy attempt, but as a new company this is a good show. no way a slam dunk but not as trash as you make it seem. i usually agree with your overall impressions with a figure but the only thing holding this thing back from being successful is it’s price and design wise im not a big fan of it’s scale to other contemporaries
Someone needs a Snickers
Totally agreed after seeing your frustrations with it. Nope, won't be getting him, plus he scales with nothing really....
5 Star Review. Mic Drop.
So, if you arent great out the gate, stop whatever you are doing and do what someone else deems useful. Got it, no room for growth here
Damn Bobby tell us what you really mean!
Whew! I can feel the heat from way over here. They shouldn’t have made this thing transform, and instead focused on other improvements.
It looks like a mess in alt mode.
poor Tigertracks :(
Have a great day
Peace
Didn’t like it?
Millennial and GenZ collectors must be easy to please lol, because most 3P offerings from the bayverse are just like this gar-bagè. Won’t be long before the youngins from TFW at over here white knighting this abomination.
Let people like what they like
@@aidenmb7932 I could care less what anyone likes. See, I’m just trolling the ones that hate on Bobby or anyone else that speaks their opinions. 👍

@@aidenmb7932 who cares what a guy named Mike Litoris says anyway?? Lol.
@@MisaelCastilloBrenes couldn't have put it any better

Everybody seems to love this. But like you,I'm not a fan of the bumblebee designs so I just have no interest. Which makes it easy to hit him with the old Nancy Regan. Just say no. Maybe if it was like 40 bucks or something. Enjoyable review🤣🤣. It gave me combiner wars Menasor flashbacks. Thanks!
Why do you not like the bumblebee movie designs? They add a sense of realism and extra complexity, while still being tangible and true to the original characters. It's a perfect balance that's achieved
More like Go Bin Toys (I'll get my coat)
