I have the version 1 Ripmo and have a Specialized side loading cage. Plenty of room for a large water bottle and no rubbing issues. Just a matter of shopping around for a cage that suits and allows for some adjustment up/down. Side loading is a must for a larger bottle imo.
So much talk about water bottle cages, does no one use the hydration packs anymore? I live in AZ so a typical water bottle isn’t enough water. I roll with a 2 liter hydration pack with room for tools and spare parts.
The Ripmo and SJ evo are hands down the best all mountain bikes you can buy for a reasonable price. I've ridden about every bike with similar travel and you can't get better well rounded bikes that can do it all.
I'm assuming you've ridden all the local spots on that bike like Frick, Alameda, etc...If so is it fun on our local trails in western PA? I'm 5yrs in on my Intense and the Geo is wack. Climbs like a do with a 71mm seat tube angle. I can pick that V2s frame up for 2,600 right now and swap most of my high end parts over, except the damn Crankset because it needs to be Dub Wide. It would be my daily on those trail systems.
It does alright for that type of bike if you want something with that kind of travel. It all depends on how you ride. It's sluggish, around here I feel. My opinion changed on bike travel once I started riding a hard tail.
@outoffokuss Yea reality is any of us riding bikes like that around here are all over-biked. I did the hard tail thing for years and they rip on most of our local XC trails. Appreciate the feedback, gives me more to think about!
@@outoffokuss ok good to know. I’m looking at V2s frames here and taking all the components of my existing rig and building one. But they’re only available in small and large. I’m 5’11 so potentially in between sizes.
Had same problem with bottle cage on my Ripley V2, and all those who fit were crazy expensive. And I found for just few dollars some cheap but super cool one named m-wave, and it fit's great without any of my camelbak bottles touching the frame. If you need I can see what model of m-wave that bottle cage is. Cheers!
hey man - nice am considering a ripmo v2s - quick quiestion - is it quiet? no rattles or any thing from cables etc? always after a stealth bike with no noise
I haven't heard any noises from it yet to be honest, but I also haven't ridden it through any chunky rock gardens. Good point I'll blast through 1 and let you know
Thank you, I typically ran just about 30 percent on that 36 fork. I'm not one to expirement with suspension that much. I feel if you went to a lower sag percentage I think it would start feeling more harsh because you'll start to get into the more progressive stroke. Don't quote me I could be wrong though!
I been on the V1 for about 2 years now and love it as well! Are the differences on the V2s noticeable on the trail? Btw, Arundel cages work well on Ibis bikes! If you want you can splurge on a Carbon one or just get a graphite or plastic type that I got - works great! Plenty of clearance.
I did notice the difference on descents with 1 degree head angle change, the v2s takes a little more effort on the flatter trails and the climbs where the ripmo v1 did just fine. The parts were swapped over from my ripmo the only thing different needed are the wider cranks for the Wider chainline. From reading a little bit, I guess they wanted to suit the bike for enduro a little more and they were successful at that.
Without even reading your page I knew you were from the burgh. Thanks for the review
I bought an Arundel carbon sideloader bottle cage on the Ibis website and it sits perfectly without touching the frame!
Sick! I will check those out also. Thank you
I did the same and it’s been great for me.

Ty I appreciate the info 👍
Great cage/idea, or get out a drimmel and slot the mounting holes 2 ml's
Definitely a good idea and I appreciate the ingenuity.
Specialized Zee cage 2 has slotted mounting holes so you can scoot it forward to where the bottle doesn’t touch.
Yup, use the same one that comes on the Stumpjumpers

I don't bring the pack out until I have too. I ride light most of the time.
I ski strap a 16 oz bottle to my frame, 16 oz bottle in the hip bag and two 24oz bottles one in the frame one on the hip bag. 80oz no backpack.
Take a look at FidLock. It fits perfect with some adjustability and no matter what I have been ridding never lost a bottle.
Awesome! Ty only gripe I've had on the bikes but I never did the research on resolving the water bottle issue 👌
👌 I appreciate it
Which hubs and color did you find to match up?
love the video quality, hey where did you get that gold stem spacer? i need it on my bike...
Hey thank you! I appreciate the positive vibes and I bought them from Wolf tooth components.

The Swiss army knifes! I've ridden a stumpjumper evo around a little I almost bought one.
Yep! Dad had the ripmo and i have the evo!
which bike climbed better ? the stumpy or ripmo ??
I Use the fidlock it still rubs but I but a decal and a piece of clear frame protector over that sticker.
I appreciate it
AMS Frame protection on that spot will get you out of trouble Outoffokus.
Lezyne Flow SL Cage works great on my Ripmo and Ripley.
I love the slow up close shots of the bike!
Thank you! I appreciate the positive feedback

No problem man, check with Tom at trailflo bikes he might have something you can demo before buying. If you do tell him Smooch sent you haha
I run a Fidlock bottle setup on my V1 and V2S without any wear or rubbing.
What size frame did you run and how tall are you? I was looking at frames but they only have size small and large.
I ran a medium im 5'9

Just replying now the bike defintely has quieted down from the ripmo v1.
are you happy with the endurocell vs the green? So torn on color!
I am happy with it. The gold theme I had going on already matched up great with the endurocell!
Specialized water bottle holder adjust up a 1/4 inch. My bottle doesnt rub the frame and i can carry a larger bottle.
That's a good bit of adjustment. I appreciate the input
Nice video - Have the V2 myself. What sag are you running the fork at? Ibis recommends 30% for fox 38 But that seems high? Sick bike.

More of these bikes should have in frame storage
That would be awesome 👌
