    We are very selective about what brands we work with on paid/sponsored content creation and as a rule we don't work with any brand that we don't already or wouldn't spend our own money on. We are incredibly proud of all our brand partnership content and it will always be disclaimed in the most transparent way possible so you know exactly what is with 'AD' on screen and in the description box. If the entire video is an 'AD' this will be in the title of the video.
    Because we don't work with a large amount of brands on sponsored content we do rely on our UA-cam ad revenue. Any adverts you watch during the duration of our videos will earn us a small percentage of 'ad revenue' from UA-cam and we really appreciate you watching the adverts in full (and not skipping them), but only if and when you can. We also know that time is precious so no pressure.

    Any items/links marked with '[AD - Pr products]' are products which have been 'gifted' from the respective brands without a contract for sponsored content. This is still classed as a form of advertising because nothing is ever "free", brands are gaining exposure to our audience by us featuring them, so these items are marked as 'AD-Pr product' in the description box but we are under no obligation to feature these items. And as with our paid content, we never accept gifting/pr products from brands that we don't already or wouldn't spend our money on. Hi Emma, as a fellow 39yo I believe spf, retinol, peptides and antioxidants are basics for well aging routine. I’m currently using peptide serum in the evening ( before retinol )and vitamin c serum in the morning- both products from geek and gorgeous. Another here congratulating you on your beautiful skin at 39! I wish mine had looked as good when I was your age.
    I love the Laroche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50 lotion as well. I buy the tinted version for the summer months and it gives me a nice glow in the daytime without having to wear anything else heavier on my face. It's so important to use SPF. My SIL was diagnosed with facial skin cancer several years ago - and this was a person who could never bear to sunbathe and tended to stay out of strong sunlight! Luckily they removed the offending cells and all she has now is a faint scar. All has been well since thank god! She never goes out at all now without wearing her Anthelios 50. Happy Sunday and love to you, Simon and the Bs. Xxx

    Hi Emma. It’s my belief that the skin care companies control a massive market which constantly bring out new products, many of which make completely unrealistic claims. The aging process is a perfectly natural one and only medical intervention such as plastic surgery, Botox and fillers can supposedly turn back the clock. Much of the condition of our skin comes down to good genes, a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet and a thorough daily cleansing and moisturising routine. Obviously, there are a plethora of brands and products to choose from but it’s undoubtedly up to each individual to find the ones that suit their skin type the best and stick to them. By the way, your skin is lovely! 💛🌻

      Thank you very much ❤️ And yes absolutely I think this goes without saying. But some women (and men for that matter) do enjoy beauty and that’s what they like to spend their money on, everything is marketing at the end of the day. We live in a world where there are unrealistic expectations of beauty because of people not disclaiming/being transparent about what they’ve had ‘done’ or too much editing in photos and that does have an impact on us whether we choose to admit it or not, it’s human nature. I’ve always been relatively laid back about aging but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to still look my best. I dye my hair and I want to keep my skin as best as it can be without spending out again on Botox every few months…because I’d rather spend that money on a Disney trip that keeps me young at heart 😘

    Our skin is an organ and looking after it is nothing to do with vanity but being responsible to our health. It gives it chance to do its best job for us at any given biological age.
    Ladies can chose to leave makeup and hair dyeing behind ,if they want to embrace that look.
    However, questioning skin routine is similar to questioning the need to brush teeth.
    Make up companies scam us for profit by advertising minuscule traces of good stuff in their overpriced products. So by researching and getting brand like the Ordinary we don't get to be mislead and out of pocket but actually getting to use just the correct stuff in quantity that makes clinical difference.

    • @EmmaHill
      @EmmaHill  7 днів тому +5

      That’s a great question! I can’t say I’ve noticed anything in particular skin-wise but there must definitely be some positive side effects because we’re not in such a polluted area. Lifestyle-wise there’s been a huge shift so perhaps the lack of city stress and just the calming nature of our surroundings has impacted my skin in that way. I guess there’s no way of knowing unless we had a clone of me that kept living in London so we could compare the two, but one of me is already enough 🤣

    I'm early 30s and I've also got a FOREO UFO ✨️ it's a really nice product, however I feel like the individual treatment times are a bit short (would you agree, Emma?) Thabkfully, you can repeat the treatment as many times as you'd like, so I often end up doing this to try and get the most out of my mask 💆‍♀️

    • @EmmaHill

      I actually love the length of time it takes because I'm not one for spending ages on my routine. At the end of the night I just want to clean my face and get in bed as quickly as possible so if I decide to do a mask before bed then 2 minutes is nothing. As you say you can easily repeat the treatment if you want to so I think it gives you the best of both worlds x

    Your skin is beautiful Emma. Like you my skin was never dry in fact it was oily when I was young but boy wait ‘til you hit menopause, I’ve always looked 10 years younger than I am but I aged about 5 years so quickly with menopause and dryness contributes to that. I have a fairly simple skin routine, pretty much everything is from The Ordinary, amino acids, peptides, nmf, retinal, my vit C is from Geek & Gorgeous & SPF is Bondi Sands or No.7. As my skin has got dry I don’t use products with SD alcohol or fragrance. But the one thing I’m really struggling with is the sagging and jowling and there is literally nothing you can do about that unless you have a facelift 😢 x

    • @EmmaHill
      @EmmaHill  6 днів тому +2

      I feel you! The wrinkles don't bother me so much because they're a sign of expression and I'll gladly accept laughter lines 🙌🏼 I dabbled in Botox before the pandemic because like you I also have a jowl situation going on (which I know is genetic and will only get worse) and I wanted to see if Botox could be used to reduce that. My Aesthetician tried some in those areas but I wasn't convinced with the results so decided not to continue. It definitely ironed out any fine lines that I had at the time and it did leave my skin glowing without looking like I'd even got Botox BUT it's so costly. I went to (and would only ever go to) a very well trusted doctor/aesthetician, mine was on Harley Street. As you would expect that comes with premium costs, and I just can't justify spending that kind of money every 3 months. I've heard by others and also my aesthetician advised that putting filler in the chin stretches out the jawline and reduces the appearance of jowls but I refuse to try filler. If others want to that's great but I know that's a step I don't want to take. I do have a couple of devices that I think make a bit of a difference. I have the NuFace and the Ziip Halo. I couldn't feature either of these in this video because they are competing brands with the AD that we featured but I can honestly say that Ziip Halo is great! It has a function called the instant facelift and I always use this when getting ready to go out and it gives an immediate visible face lift using micro current and nano current. I can always see a difference I my jawline and lifting my brows too but you can use the devise to focus on the areas that you want to life so if jowls are the issue you can just focus on that area. Full disclosure I was gifted that device as part of another AD but after having used it for a good few months now I BLOODY LOVE IT 😬. The effects aren't permanent but it's definitely more cost effective in comparison to surgery x

      Facial exercises are great for a sagging jawline, check out Immi Bigan yoga on here, she's so helpful!

      Yes I have the same issue around the jawline and I do have the Ziip Halo. I couldn't feature it in this video as it's a competing brand of the AD we included but I have shown it on instagram previously. I think it's a great alternative both cost-wise and being non-invasive in comparison to fillers and surgery. I would highly recommend it. I use the instant facelift treatment on the Ziip before I go out and it really does show an instant difference 🙌🏼

    Why do you prefer that particular la roch posay as appose to the fluid?

      I just find it sits better on my skin, I prefer it under the very little make up I wear and I like the consistency of this over the liquid x

      It’s just a reusable/washable cleansing pad. That one was in a pack from Boots about a year ago but you can buy them on Amazon too x

    Another ad

      Yes this is an integrated AD and being on UA-cam/Instagram (or an "Influencer") does involve some working with brands and promoting products. Some people will choose to do this more often than others and the frequency of ADs will always come down to the individuals preference and a brands campaign schedule. For obvious reasons, certain times of year are always busier than others. Having been subscribed to my channel for 5 months, you should have only seen a handful of ADs pop up. My personal preference is to work with brands that I trust and that I am willing to spend my own money on, so that any promotion is organic and authentic. I also aim to spread them out, but for the reasons mentioned earlier this isn't always possible. Still, I hope you enjoyed the video ❤️
