Why did I read this in an ironic voice?
Dude. That track just came out of nowhere and blew my mind.
Yeah I was legit blown away, Andrew is an inspiration
BuzzinTate me too
This is a track you could hear on the radio. I really loved it!
@@nathankempf1990 -- In the best way possible, it reminded me of the work of Jillian Banks (a.k.a. BANKS). I hope I'm using the proper terminology, but she often uses her own down-tuned vocals in a self-duet in her songs. Here's an example: ua-cam.com/video/mq8alifk_Is/v-deo.html
Not even mentionning the video that would put to shame quite a few music videoclips out there
sold when you started shaking it
At that moment I actually paused the video and opened amazon to start the ordering process. Changed my mind when I saw $200+
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@mres812 must be fairly easy to make one
George Russell Music you would think
@tututuims ieijebdo Just stabilized wood? Wood impregnated with resin is very dense. It's not easy to do it from home, you need a vaccuum chamber.
@tututuims ieijebdo I wasn't arguing with you?

that feeling when someone you watch comments about someone else you watch...
Paul Davids same here :)
That track blew me away!
WelshiePlaysGuitar it Blue you away 🤔

Wish I could get past my creative block and make music like this 😕
Sounds exactly like max cooper - order from chaos
The mad lad’s done it. Someone get this to radio, we’ve got a certified banger
😐
Well that was incredible.
yup
Good lord these tracks are gorgeous
Gabe is that u
Haha didn’t think I’d find you here :)
They really are
Oh heck yes
I Love your vids!!
You changed your name again!
Andrew has such cool friends
Your here too!! Awesome
Oh hi
I do love it when Andrew casually drops a VFX masterpiece straight up outta nowhere. Like, I came here for the usual Andrew Huang video, WHICH IS ENOUGH OF A TREAT AS IT IS; but then halfway through, the video editing blasts through the roof and everyone goes into sensory overload.
that thing was floating through SPACE
great video, love that you didn't announce that you were going into the song and just let it start
This is amazing!
I want 5.
Ey it liha nevi
hey !!! you
what r u doing here ? xD
Yo, I forgot you existed
I'm bout to check and see what you've been doin
i can make u one =]
you should do a video where you only use sounds made from kalimbas.
This might be my favorite song of yours ever! That Kaliimba sounds great!
I second that!
agreed.
Came here to say just this! Please please please post it on spotify!
3 years later and still listening to this amazing track...
Eu comprei uma Kalimba por conta desse vídeo. Incrível!
Right?! I keep coming back to it!
Now that was some amazing music!
WeIRd GeAR
Hey it's you
M3!¶|) &34¶
First Jacksfilms, now here. You really get around.
what are you doing here?
At first I was just thinking "Oh, it's just a kalimba, what's so weird about that?
My mind changed pretty fast
Man that first track could easily chart - it's different enough from what's on there whilst still being pleasing and easy enough for the casual listener.
Just over 8 months later and im still listening to this track! Wish this could make it onto spotify
Facts
Beautiful instrument. Got one as well since last year. I talked to a guy from Hokema at Musikmesse in Frankfurt asking him about the two a notes. He replied that this is essential to the sound, because the spherical vibe is created by the resonating root of the scale. There are two within one hand due to there’s one free at each time.
I think the scale is on the ableton push as well. It is called Hiroshi scale.
thank you for sharing! I was really curious, and I don't see anything else on the internet to say why it has two a notes, so I probably wouldn't have gotten an answer otherwise
Interesting!
Thank you!❤
Aesthetic is insane. Just the best video visually, and probably in the top 3 of songs I’ve heard from you. Or maybe songs total.
Hey Andrew! I also found the doubled A weird so I changed the tuning of my sansula by shifting the very left tongue a bit lower. Now it produces G instead of A which is perfect because it lets me play C major, E major and other cool chords. Ans ovrerall the sansual just sounds brighter and more interesting.
Smort moves
This is probably my favourite song of yours. Just wow
Words can't describe how much i love those two songs, especially the second one. KALIMBA ALBUM PLEASE 🙏
I'D BUY THAT
Check out this Guy called Tipper, and especially his album called Forward Escape. I'm sure you would like that!
Hokema Sansula-- what a wonderful phraaaaaase! Hokema Sansula--aint no passing craaaaaze!
Hahah, Kliked on this vid to search for this comment

Lion King live action remake cameo
Both tracks are amazing but dude those visuals! I’d love to see some behind the scenes stuff (even that this is a music channe)l because this video has better cinematography and editing than any recent video from the filmmaking channels that I follow!
We don't deserve you, Andrew.
You're a UA-cam gem!
I do. I totally deserve him.
The quality of the video caught me off guard. I wasn't ready for those beautiful aesthetic shots
Andrew man! This track was mind-blowing!!
Why aren’t more people talking about the cinematography? It’s incredible!! You’ve seriously taken your craft to a whole new level.
I was unprepared for the vibe the song gave me and I almost fell out of my chair
Quality content right there. The track is bonkers Drew! 💪🏼
That was one of the best tracks of yours I've heard. Definitely a new favorite.
Edit: spoke too soon, both were amazing! Weird gear ftw.
bee pot Your comment is very true. I don't mean to sound rude mentioning this, but I noticed you used the wrong "too" for this context.
2:03 - Suddenly, Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Felt like I was in another world for a couple minutes, this was powerful.
That track is just beautiful!
You think op should be a singer!?? 'merican idol!???
Damn! Both tracks are awesome! Really like the mood.
Wow unbelievable tracks. And they flow into each other so well. I love how simply yet detailed they were. Gave me the chills over and over. Not to mention beautiful visuals that matched perfectly.
And here's why I subscribed to your channel and love every video you put out. You can just see the passion and the amount of work you put into your videos. You truly are an inspiration.
man the song and video you made from the instrument is the best one I can remember, I love the aesthetic choices
(Sample text) next level cinematography Andrew! Like it’s always next level but like this, this is is like Hollywood level! No joke Avatar level! Love U dude!
Man the cinematography in this video was amazing.
Dude. This video, the song, the production, THE INTRODUCTION "Weird Gear #4: Hokema Sansula" was so professional, so outstanding. This video, however simple in its purpose, has been one of the most well-produced videos I have ever seen from you. This is fabulous. Thanks!
I am super pumped that you are doing an acoustic instrument on Weird gear!!!! I have seen/played around with kalimba before. And holy crap that was beautiful!!!!
oh i am here for this song hell yeah
your music is so ahead of its time. absolutely beautiful
I LOVE your video editing. Thank you for continuously releasing interesting content. You are my ableton hero
Tune!! By far the best vocal track I’ve heard you do on this channel. Amazing.
i love the surprise mv this was so beautiful and I need a sansula!!
The amount of effort and artistry put into this is incredbile. It amazes me that anyone could dislike this!
Andrew is one of the most creative and talented musicians I’ve seen. I can’t even comprehend how anyone can get so good at creating music and especially in the amazing ways that he does. Super cool.
Suggestion for next weird gear: an Omnichord!!! I just got one, and they are an electronic instrument that you can play like an acoustic, and they sound like pure 80's!!!
I saw the dabchick guy use one, barnabydixon
@@augusto7681 oh look uncultured swine
This is how youtube is supposed to be, quality content 👌🏻👌🏻
Joseph North YES
Not only your process and your music, but also this video is a so huge inspiration to me ! Thank you Andrew :)
Andrew, your production quality is insane! Amazing music video and track.
YES I LOVE THESE
Yaay that flag
just changed it right before i made this comment, it was originally a sunset with the bi pride colors
buut, i thought i'd go with something a little less subtle, and because i had just gotten off the phone with my gender therapist, i thought i'd go with something a little more fitting too!
If you dont mind me asking, why do you need a gender therapist? I thought gender was as easy as looking down while naked. Also, I dont really understand the whole idea of pride flags. I think that they are just a bit pointless.
I dont know how I feel about it. I myself dont really agree with the idea of trans people, but I also believe that people should be able to do whatever they want as long as they arent violating the rights of anyone else. YDY I guess.
gender therapists are more informed on how to deal with dysphoria, and how to help people come to terms with being trans, having a normal therapist to talk to trans issues about can be difficult, especially if theyre constantly deadnaming you, or the only thing they know about trans people is some stuff they heard about caitlyn forever ago, also pride flags are a good way to represent that youre a part of a group, it can make you feel less alone, if you ever think about how wierd pride flags are, just think about all the americans with irish flag profile pics and how wierd that is
YES. JUST...YES!
Love the songs from this video so much
This video is on fire! TWO tracks seamlessly merging acoustic and electronic elements - amazing! The visuals, brilliant!
Hokema Sansula... for the rest of your days
What the.... the quality of this video went extremely high really fast.
These tracks are so beautiful! I love them so much! Great job!
That. blew. my. mind. Woah. You are so talented and always inspire me Andrew!
I was literally just thinking, “I wonder when Andrew will post a new video.” And there it was! Andrew, I absolutely LOVE your spacey tunes. Keep up the great, inspiring work.
Kaleb Kormendy good looking out! Damn iPhone! Haha. I’m usually “that guy,” as well.
Another one!!! Oh yeah!
Rewatching this after a while. And the music video for this is just so incredibly beautiful.
Exceptionally beautiful tracks!
Dude! These visuals are unreal! They fit the music so well, I'm just completely blown away 😮
How does this mans brain even work? holy crap
I really apreciate this type of video man! Really explain some stuff and then, clean music with infos written on it.
you are such a genius! Ur tracks will never fail to impress me
Seriously Andrew. This is your best song and video ever. You just sold me one of these.
I hope vevo sees this track holy heck, this song just came out of no where and its amazing!! Always love your stuff Andrew, especially when it sounds as great as this 😊
That track is awesome and such a beautiful transition into it too! Quality of your videos just keeps getting better man!
Absolutely amazing! Thank You
You made a radio banger for a weird gear video. You are unbelievable my dude.
You are a legend. That track should be in the charts dude. High in the charts.
Damn the video editing and lighting is gold! Really does the music justice! Love those double exposure in the first song! Truly loving everything in this video.
this song is magical.
The reason why there are two of those notes is because of the chords you can play with one thumb by "strumming" the tines.
Wow this video is better than anything even Apple has made. It's gorgeously shot! Music is phenomenal
Ahhhh this was amazing! Love this instrument and these tracks man!! ❤️
I love the parts where you get super-educational cuz I learn so much and your passion is contagious! Your channel is youtube at its best!
Insane content quality, that's unreal
I can't believe this... I watched half of the video on 0.75 speed and i tought he was high or something 😂👏🏽wow....
Oh my goodness, you're right!
this comment made me unexpectedly laugh so much, hahahaha thank you for leaving this here 😂
Such a simple idea, yet one of the best songs I've heard from you!
Video just made my Day! Thank you Andrew.
PLEASE make a Hip-hop lofi theme type song with the kaliimba 😍🙏
Finally some weird gear
*THE CINEMATOGRAPHY OF THIS VIDEO IS MIND BLOWING*
i've been waiting for your vids!
You definitely have some of the best visuals on UA-cam ever
Bro you deserve way more subs. You deserve to be famous. You have a God given gift, you are so talented. God Bless!
He is famous
The production quality and also the coolness of that song honestly blew me away! Great job! (I also really liked the tiny "~weeiird~" insert when you were talking about the two As :D )
the quality of this video is out of this world everything just works so flawlessly. I want Hokema Sansula now!
I've been a huge fan of Kalimba's for almost a decade and a half, ever since my Dad let me use an old one he found. I plan on buying the Sansula now, thank you for the recommendation.
Beautiful melody and video as always, good luck :)
What the hell??!! That was SOOOO GOOOD!
Love how it could just be a review but Andrew just has to make a banger to go with it. Thanks again.
Thank you for being such a passionated musician. That track bamboozled me!
