I love the variety. Old, new. Black and white and colour. Fantasy and realist. Animation and live action. There is perfect art in all of these different forms. Something that a lot of people seem to forget when it comes to music or art or acting or whatever. There is such a breadth and depth to these art forms, that there is beauty in all of them.
@your favourite pizza guy. You are absolutely spot on. 2001 :A space odyssey is one of the finest. Kubrik is a master in setting up beautiful scenes as he himself was photographer before directing films.
Daniel Haile ik this isn't an oscar movie but in 10 things i hate about you, the part where Cameron and the other guy threw the party invitations thru the school ladders where also a greats scene. great soundtrack too!
There's a scene in the last half of Ex Machina, with the protagonist and antagonist sitting under a kind of veranda on a green hill, talking quietly, with the wind blowing the dark green shrubs around them, and the composition and atmosphere of this shot is absolutely exquisite. It astounds me every time I see it.
Okay so I see what you're going for, but I feel like its a major discredit to practically all of these films. Perhaps, even unintentionally, insulting. Shots like (the patricians choice, I know) the opening scene to Raging Bull isn't fantastic because of a 3-second blip--its fantastic because of its full 3 minute duration. I fully understand that you are just doing a "collage" or "montage" or maybe even "homage" to these shots, and thats great, but I think to properly give these masterpiece scenes the credit they deserve, you need to give them just that--a scene. The full 3 minutes.
i agree, this entire video shows an imature understanding of art as a spectacle to be marveled at rather than you know, art. Just like how he throws in some japanese films from the only 2 japanese directors who exist, miyazaki and kurosawa. they're not there for any reason other than 'it's a foreign black and white film' and 'its animated'.
Park Chan-wook movies often contain series of beautiful shots. Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, JSA, The Handmaiden, I'm a Cyborg but It's OK, etc. Even his short film, Night Fishing (Paranmanjang) which was filmed with an iPhone was shot well. He usually collaborate with cinematographer Chung Chung-hoon, Kim Sung-Bok, and Kim Byeong-il.
I'm kinda late but I suggest "Moonrise Kingdom"! The way it was shot is absolutely beautiful, and the colors really pop. (If it was already done, sorry) Also, since anime is included in this, scenes from "5 cm per second' and "Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) both have great scenes that are well-animated, as well as beautiful landscapes and architecture. I really hope that you are able to make a 3rd version of this, because I know that there are many more shots that can fit into this category.
I love these. A part 3 would be my awesome. Here are my personal favorites that were unmentioned: - the scene in What Dreams May Come where they are frolicking in the waterpaint flowers - Adam Sandler dragging his knuckles over a keyboard in "Punch-Drunk Love" - the library reveal in Beauty and the Beast - the final Harry Potter films had beautiful shots in strange wild terrains - Kirsten Dunst on the football field in "The Virgin Suicides" - the sugar factory scene in "Gone Girl" - Brokeback Mountain, Heath Ledger against the fireworks background
Great shots (I wouldn't call all of them "beautiful"). I'd include stuff from Tak Fujimoto and Steve McQueen/Sean Bobbitt (big miss). The Fountain, The Grandmaster and HP & the Deathly Hallows (particularly part 1) also come to mind for their amazing shots!
We take a kid from from Iraq and we throw him to a new planet with an alien civilization that is a hundred thousand years more advanced than humanity with teleportation devices and weird hovering technology and telepathic communication abilities and all sorts of crazy stuff, they figured out how to make their bodies immortal. Right so all this crazy stuff that they figured out from the wildest Science-fiction movies. We plop a kid from Iraq into that for a day and then we bring him back. That's a little bit more what it's like to take a psychedelic.
Was waiting for someone to put that shot from Gravity, where she looks like a fetus in the womb. Umbilical cord and all. When I first watched it there was someone with me and I was like 'Holy shit, do you see that?'
I just have a very bad sense of art. But it was very enjoying for me to watch someone breakdown and explain individual shots. I would really love seeing that. But nonetheless thank you very much for the content!
I love the Lord of the Rings, but most of the scenes included here are obviously using green screens and pre-rendered backgrounds. A beautiful shot is a beautiful shot, but I would argue that there is more beauty in a real image. I just wouldn't include anything fake or pre-rendered if I made this list.
I don't know about them but Devdas,Bajirao Mastani & Padmavati...literally every Banshali Movie is just so perfect. One can pause at any moment and take a snapshot yet it would turn out to be insta-perfect.
For those of you wanting the titles~The movies from part 1 and 2 can be found on this list. www.buzzfeed.com/danieldalton/there-will-be-scrolling?.efvWNGEEL#.fcxYjNvv4 It's not in order but you can tell which one is which pretty easily. :)

Exactly.
It’s be the Fairy Godmother saying ‘hit it!’

Great vfx
That movie is shit
I don't know if anybody will agree with me, but The Secret Life of Walter Mitty has some of the most beautiful scenes in cinema history. Some of the scenes are just gorgeous in this film. Especially the scene where he's playing soccer with those kids
Me too. It's genuinely one of my favorites
100% agree. All of the shots bear the same spirit. I love the scene where he just skates down a mountain, or the moment where shawn is on the roof of the plane with the volcano eruption. But my favorite part is probably the beginning credits which are just the quintessence of shots i enjoy in movies.
somebody definitely does agree with that opinion and its me
I liked the movie itself too.
OMSSSS YESSS
The song is Mad Piano from the Mr. Bean soundtrack, for whoever wants to know!
kat lei thanks! Need it🥰
:-)
Thank you!
Thanks
Merci beaucoup 😊
Both videos are stunning. I literally got goosebumps! Congrats bud! Just one tip: could you add the title of every movie in the description? I know it can require a little bit more work but I'm sure it worths the effort.
tens of thousands people would benefit from it.. :)

someone likes the movie bean
Jake Maringoni the music totally reminded me of the movie😂
Jake Maringoni great music
OHHHHH i was trying to figure that out lmao
Thank you!!! For some reason was thinking of the airport scene from Love Actually
Oh right! I stupidly thought of the love actually scene when the kid runs through the airport but that’s a different, less amazing one right?
Probably the most important component of this clip was the memorable music that I recognized from the end of the Mr. Bean movie. Probably the greatest legacy Rowan Atkinson will leave from his long artistic career. That composer was brilliant.
I agree that's what I was thinking the entire video
What's the name of the music?

Satoshi Kon too :(
Landscape shots are like a a specialty of Japanese movies. Look up Shinkai Makoto's films (Garden of words, 5cm per second, your name,

The rain scene .....of freedom.
Zihuatanejo filmed by Roger Deakins, a true living legend
If you haven't seen the studio ghibli-films you haven't lived life.
I’d watch them if it wasn’t for the art style, which I’m not a fan of at all.
@@jackdonohue7893 the Ghibli Movies are true works of art, masterpieces in every aspect.
@@jackdonohue7893 incredibly callous way on your part of consuming media
I do not like them, to be honest
@@jocelyn4650 you can find them on netflix, I think a great movie to start with is princess mononoke
Seeing Truman's hand, just his hand. I'm still choked up. NICE collection!
Where is Drive?
THANK YOU
the elevator scene
in the trash where it belongs
You could just show the entirety of Barry Lyndon and you'd be set
I love these. I would love to see more Wes Anderson.
Same
The zoom-in shot of the hospital from Akira was beautiful
That shot from _The Third Man_ really needs to be viewed from start to finish to be fully appreciated.
I so agree. It’s my favourite film ending of all.
@@nickbaxter8797 😎
Just seeing it in this video made my heart drop. It’s such a powerful scene.
WAIIIT A MINUTE.... Didn't there used to be a movie list here? What happened?
WHERE THE HELL IS 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY?
He would have to put the entire movie if he considered that movie .
@@buddimalliyanapathirana1767 True that.
@your favourite pizza guy. You are absolutely spot on. 2001 :A space odyssey is one of the finest. Kubrik is a master in setting up beautiful scenes as he himself was photographer before directing films.
its in the part 1 mate
Interstellar. When they realize they’re in a swell. Yikes lol
Add Moonlight. it has such a beautiful cinematography.
Also any Steve Mcqueen movie
Oh, also In the Mood For Love
Daniel Haile ik this isn't an oscar movie but in 10 things i hate about you, the part where Cameron and the other guy threw the party invitations thru the school ladders where also a greats scene. great soundtrack too!
how on earth is he suppose to add it? he cant go back in time and re-edit the video lol
Hello
Wonderful collection. Thanks.
I love to watch serious Hollywood movies on Sunday afternoon, Animation/fantacy Saturday night.
I could feel my heart beating faster while watching this
wish this video was made in 2019 just so they could include 1917
Tip for part 3: Akira opening bike scene and/or any shot from End of Neon Genesis
And with the music from the Mr Bean movie
It’s perfect!
Next time pleaseslow down the pace. It would help the audience to appreciate the shots more. :)
Yeah thats what I thought
obin.be definitely but I loved how at the beginning of this one the quick changes went with the beat
You can pause it ya know...
@FR amps
Then I'd just be looking at stills, which I'm not interested in. He does have a point though.
But personally the pacing was fine.
obin.be then they wouldn't be the shots, it would be parts that aren't as good looking, or the scene before.
Well done!! With the music, your colle tion made me cry 😥😊👍❤
i don't feel like these are the most beautiful shots but rather significant visual moments in the respective films =)
You like backlit silhouettes,eh? Interesting choices.
do a part III please!
it's a very inspiring video!
I'm glad y'all put anime in here. Highly under appreciated in Hollywood and the awards.
What Incredible music can accompany such magnificent works of art?
BEAN
There's a scene in the last half of Ex Machina, with the protagonist and antagonist sitting under a kind of veranda on a green hill, talking quietly, with the wind blowing the dark green shrubs around them, and the composition and atmosphere of this shot is absolutely exquisite. It astounds me every time I see it.
I am become death, the destroyer of worlds
Nice to see all the Tarkovsky
not all. there isn't stalker.
Antonino Di Palma that's not what all means here...
That background music is from our beloved Mr. Beans Holiday Movie 😊😌💞
Excellent shots! Is there a list somewhere of all the movies featured?
Or listing of what the music featured in this is?
***** Thank you
I need to watch more movies
This makes me cry every time I watch it. It captivates such a wide spectrum of human emotions. Beautiful. Thank you whoever made this.
Some great shots here. I've always been impressed with the opening scene of the original "Blade Runner as well as shots from 2001 Space Odyssey.
Why is the bean movie song giving me goosebumps
Park Chan-wook movies often contain series of beautiful shots. Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, JSA, The Handmaiden, I'm a Cyborg but It's OK, etc. Even his short film, Night Fishing (Paranmanjang) which was filmed with an iPhone was shot well. He usually collaborate with cinematographer Chung Chung-hoon, Kim Sung-Bok, and Kim Byeong-il.
Thirst is also gorgeous
I think they'll make another Part of this Video, Because i didn't see any Satyajit Ray Movie in this one.
35 seconds into the video and i cry like a little bitch.. this song is my childhood thank you its beautiful
name of the song?
Intro scene from Paprika, when the character is jumping between persons and crystals and so on.
I'm kinda late but I suggest "Moonrise Kingdom"! The way it was shot is absolutely beautiful, and the colors really pop. (If it was already done, sorry)
Also, since anime is included in this, scenes from "5 cm per second' and "Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) both have great scenes that are well-animated, as well as beautiful landscapes and architecture.
I really hope that you are able to make a 3rd version of this, because I know that there are many more shots that can fit into this category.
What's that song at the beginning I always forget, it's so iconic
Other famous directors: We share small parts of this video as a collaboration between a large cast of divers-
Hiyao Miyazaki: *Mine*
So you're just going to do a couple of seconds of each film yet not list or tell us what the names of these movies are? Seriously?
I love these. A part 3 would be my awesome.
Here are my personal favorites that were unmentioned:
- the scene in What Dreams May Come where they are frolicking in the waterpaint flowers
- Adam Sandler dragging his knuckles over a keyboard in "Punch-Drunk Love"
- the library reveal in Beauty and the Beast
- the final Harry Potter films had beautiful shots in strange wild terrains
- Kirsten Dunst on the football field in "The Virgin Suicides"
- the sugar factory scene in "Gone Girl"
- Brokeback Mountain, Heath Ledger against the fireworks background
all these shawshank shots warm my heart
Great shots (I wouldn't call all of them "beautiful"). I'd include stuff from Tak Fujimoto and Steve McQueen/Sean Bobbitt (big miss). The Fountain, The Grandmaster and HP & the Deathly Hallows (particularly part 1) also come to mind for their amazing shots!
Crazy how this beautiful score came from a Mr Bean movie 😂
tarkovski is a genius
We take a kid from from Iraq and we throw him to a new planet with an alien civilization that is a hundred thousand years more advanced than humanity with teleportation devices and weird hovering technology and telepathic communication abilities and all sorts of crazy stuff, they figured out how to make their bodies immortal. Right so all this crazy stuff that they figured out from the wildest Science-fiction movies. We plop a kid from Iraq into that for a day and then we bring him back. That's a little bit more what it's like to take a psychedelic.
Can you please list all of the movies in order?
The sawshank redemption all movie was beautiful ....
What's the background soundtrack? Much appreciated for the answer

Not to forget about blade Runner 2049, Prisoners (every single shot in that movie) and portrait of a lady on fire
"The Mr Bean Theme - Mad Pianos"
Was waiting for someone to put that shot from Gravity, where she looks like a fetus in the womb. Umbilical cord and all. When I first watched it there was someone with me and I was like 'Holy shit, do you see that?'
The entire LOTR trilogy?
I see, you're a man of culture as well
I was actually the Director of Photography on each of these movies. If you don't believe me you can just go to hell!
Do a third one!! And a slower pace would be nice :)
spirited away, blow, the revenant, dazed and confused, memoirs of a geisha... I could think of so many more lol
Spirited away was in this video!
I really enjoyed the video but I liked the music more. Does anyone know the name of the song used?
Gracie ? Omg no ones answer for 2 years - it’s mad pianos aka the bean theme for me bean
What about the matrix shot, or in transformers 1 the car in the auto shop busts all the windows leaving bernie mac confused
Im only asking once again: Where is Moonrise Kingdom???
All I could imagine was Mr. Bean gazing at the wonderful art man has created.
Call me by your name needs to be in here
I just have a very bad sense of art. But it was very enjoying for me to watch someone breakdown and explain individual shots. I would really love seeing that. But nonetheless thank you very much for the content!
I really love that you included animated movies. A lot of times their beauty and the effort put into them is overlooked
Thank you for this beautiful work!
None of Satyajit Ray's. He was a visionary. This list is incomplete.
Not impressed since the list includes CGI-movies and backgrounds. Not a lot to do for a cinematographer here.
Happy to see a "city of God" here
Glad I got some LOTR in this one, from all three movies nonetheless
The list is incomplete without Martin Scorcese's "Silence".
silence had cool visuals but very few had emotional impact (especially if you didn’t relate to the extreme faith of people in the film)
This. This is what being alive is for
I love the Lord of the Rings, but most of the scenes included here are obviously using green screens and pre-rendered backgrounds. A beautiful shot is a beautiful shot, but I would argue that there is more beauty in a real image. I just wouldn't include anything fake or pre-rendered if I made this list.
That scene showing the earth and the spacecraft at the right side in Interstellar. I have that as my wallpaper.
Like bollywood movie doesn't deserve this list..seriously ??
There are many good movies which has great shots..like Mugle-e-azam,Guide,mother india
I don't know about them but Devdas,Bajirao Mastani & Padmavati...literally every Banshali Movie is just so perfect. One can pause at any moment and take a snapshot yet it would turn out to be insta-perfect.
@@amritaparida3992 yeh ! Right
I like how Apocalypse Now is on here twice.
Could anybody tell me the music that sounds? I've heard it all my life but i never knew the name
^^^this comment is my life
Mad Pianos
yup Mad Pianos from the Mr bean movie :D
It's kind of as if someone took Randy Eidelman's "To the stars" (from Dragonheart if I recall correctly) and ruined it
+Rodrigo Ele i also thought it sounded like dragonheart!
For those of you wanting the titles~The movies from part 1 and 2 can be found on this list.

It's not in order but you can tell which one is which pretty easily. :)
Lmao those Chinese shots were hilarious asf😹
Movies are amazing. That’s all I need to say
let's just confirm that any shot with Leonardo DiCaprio is beautiful.
What's the name of the song in the background?
Why can't you add the source of the clip dammit. would it kill you to suggest some movies? Why are you punishing me? Why?
I saw the first and second parts of your work. There isn't even a shot of Fellini. Change job. Do it for us.
