That’s what’s all about, love, the sacrifice of a widow for her children n the sacrifice of Stephen’s education to help out in running the family business. Glad it all paid out, a success story👍👍

God bless the family. A mother’s love, concern and sacrifice for her children can never be replaced or replicated.

The old photos from Katong Roxy theatre brought back many memories. I was then a little girl of 7 or 8 yrs old n grew up in Katong area all my 29 yrs.
All these street food were my favorite n still missed them. My husband loves eating Vadai with green chilli. I would buy them, freeze it n bring it back home to Japan.
Thank you for bringing back all these street food. N we Sporeans, should honor all these hawkers n remember them in the Spore Food Hall of Fame n their photos should be at our local museum so our younger generations will learn from humble beginnings.🙏❤

Well presented documentary. I really enjoyed the video and a little side story along with it. The food in the video looks good enough to eat. Thank you.

Original Vadai is the best! My husband and I will ALWAYS buy whenever we pass by an outlet. So happy to finally see the owners behind it!

I’m Chinese, but in my very early childhood, late sixties, I had some Indian’s snack. Too young to know the difference. I had the best falafel. I am still looking for the “ original taste.”

It is tough running food business. With high material n rental cost, hawkers work long hours with little income. The famous stall now can make more money. Singapore traditional food are disappearing and I tried hard finding good traditional food over SG. Hawker centres food are getting quite boring, selling almost same things. Malay and indian food are not as common.
