I am thinking of getting a Google Nest Hub Gen 2. But I don't know if to get one right now because of some laggy UI update thing going on with them. Is everyone having this problem? If so, I hope google can fix the problem at some point!
@@hometechvids tried that thru Google Chat Customer Service Help.Still occur the same issue.Motion Sensing and Sleep Calibration just not working afterall..
Uve got hub 2 with sleep sense this 1 that came free from SSE with WiFi Thermostat and old wired Thermostat removed n wiring with this circular device that communicate with Google hub n wifi Thermostat
Check Motion Sense is enabled: support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10388741?hl=en It can be a bit fiddly to use. I would recommend playing music and then trying various waves to skip track. I find around 30cm away from the device seems to work best although to be honest I rarely use the Motion Sense part of it.
You have to sign into your account on your nest hub. But what if everyone in the house want to use and control lights , thermostat and view door bell camera alerts? How do you manage the sign ID if you are sharing the nest hub?
Home control features can be used by anyone who can touch the device. Private information like calendar events, etc, can only be seen by the person who added the Google account to the device. You can add more than one Google account to the device. It uses Voice Match to make sure you are the account holder. Before you can see anything private it asks you to speak the command to make sure you have an account on the device.
I've seen all the comments here regarding about the same issue i had too.Motion gesture and sleep sensing. Not working.Thousand of time, try to calibrate the sleep sensing, end up i straight away gone sleep afterall.Motion gesture, swipe my palm etc, untill all around the device fly away because keep on waving here and there.Nothing capture. My question, should we return the device and get the refund,or wait till the update or is it because of hardware problem?
Nice.. and then one day Google update the software automatically and your device remains blo ked witn a grey screen and a big white G in the middle... and Google refuses to fix it or replace the device...
Nice. Helpful. It just (Nov 22) went on sale here in Toronto for $70 Canadian.
Helpful review. After seeing it, made it easier for me if I wanted to get one or not.

The UI has always been a bit laggy for me. It's underpowered but does the job. Just slowly.
Has Google resolve Gen1 LCD screen burn-in issue on Gen2? Thx
Haven't noticed anything yet.
I bought it in April 2024
I dont understand why I can not use quick gesture (it dont work) and calibrate Sleep Sensing (always ask to retry when I do calibrate)
Sorry I have no idea. Try factory resetting the device.

@@hometechvids OK that’s helpful to know.
You can add households and people to your google home, then train the device to recognize each family memeber and link it to their account and bam
As Google hub listen to anyone saying hey Google or OK Google

If you aren't happy with performance then definitely return for a refund.
U don't need to train other family members
It works with other voices without setup them up
If u don't have voice match i do
