Analogous means colours that sit next to each other in the colour wheel, so say red orange yellow or purple pink and red. you see this a lot in nature and it's very relaxing to the eye. 🖖🖖

Another color combination idea I had when (trying to) pick colors was to look at sport team logos / uniforms. They usually use 2-3 colors and are reviewed (at least I assume so).
That's super interesting. I actually avoid colors that are associated with sports teams because I don't want someone who is adamantly opposed to the team overlooking my pattern LOL.
@@WatchBarbaraKnit That makes perfect sense for a designer standpoint (I'll probably never knit with black and silver for that reason), but I thought I could "borrow" their marketing department's R&D. I was looking into contrast color for a purple blanket, but everything popped up with gold / yellow, which made me think of the connection.
Really interesting... I believe color to be the most important factor in whatever I do... Great color choices can make the simplest design shine.,,

Barbara, I love learning all about different things this way. But I got sort of sea sick with how fast you moved through everything with your browser. I couldn't see where you were pointing to but things were moving all the time. I know there is so much to show us and you want to do it in the 15 minute time frame. Thanks for all you show us and do to teach us so many things.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. I am still learning how to do this screen share thing and I will work on slowing things down a bit. I will also look into how to make my cursor bigger so that it will be more visible.

I am a huge grey fan too - it is amazing on its own or in combination with brighter colors. I can't wait to see you knit up some Mosaic Lace.

Fantastic! Thank you so much Barbara. My other question would be how to take a variegated skein that has multiple colors and figure out what other color/s to put with it to use it to it's best advantage.

I think using odd number of colors is more appealing to the eyes. Example: 3 - 5
I use odd numbers all the time!

muhlenstedt Hi! I’m afraid how you access the description notes is dependent on how you are viewing the video so I’m not sure precisely how the help you. There is a description below the video with all of the links in it and usually you have to click something to open it up. I’m currently viewing it on my phone so there is a small arrow to the right of the title of the video that has to be clicked. On my computer I can read the first few lines of the description and then there is a clickable link that says something like “read more” . I occasionally watch UA-cam on my TV and I haven’t figured out how to view the description there yet!
