Mr. Long, I agree with you. I am so tired of the big stores, skyscrapers, subway, etc. Give me a small/medium American American city and I am in peace with myself.
Bridgeport, California. An old town with a 150 year old courthouse, a 40,000 acre pasture surrounding the town and the eastern Sierra escarpment on the west side of the valley. Best main street I've lived near all my life.
Nice video. However, I would rank Telluride much higher on your list, assuming they are in order beauty. If not, then I would add Aspen and Park City--possibly Breckenridge. Some mountain towns are hard to beat.
Telluride's main street is probably top three in the country in terms of scenery. Aspen.....eh. Nice but probably wouldn't be in my top 10. Estes Park and Ouray would be.

I have to agree, Colorado is the best state for most beautiful mountain towns. Estes Park, Aspen, Breckenridge, Ouray, Durango, Steamboat Springs, Leadville, Telluride.....the list goes on.
I lived in Breckenridge and Telluride Colorado back in the 70s. Telluride was called Little Switzerland, I remember and we had the Matterhorn on the wall at school. Fell in love with a Swiss girl in San Francisco in the 80s and have been here for 31 years now outside of Zurich. All good, but I do have Colorado in my head if I ever wanted to return. Colorado is in my head the most, after living in New Jersey, Idaho, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maine, Oregon, Washington and California.
@@wendaltvedt4673 I went to my mom`s place just north of SF, after graduation up by Seattle. I started ballet dancing for 4 years and ended up on Union & Fillmore street in the 80s for the first time living alone. I was working and living in a B&B, so that went well. Sad to say that just 3 days ago staunton had a sever flood with over 5in of rain falling in an hour. Many businesses suffered total losses. It was truly a magnificent main street and with the residents tenacity it will be again
Durango isn't even one of the best cities in Colorado, so it's hardly going to make a national list. Whitefish is known for the home of scumbag white nationalists, so maybe that's why it does't make the list. Ketchum, although I love the town, is pretty much a boutique yuppie town. Unless you got money, forget it.
Can't believe you didn't include the most famous main street of all, the one Disney modeled theirs after... Old Town, Fort Collins, CO... Walnut St, Mountain and College Aves.
Port Townsend has a nice harbor not shown. It was supposed to be the chief port of Washington until railroads decided to go directly north through Tacoma and Seattle to British Columbia I was told.
You missed Aspen, Colorado and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The cowboys and the ranchers are now gone from Steamboat, but F.M.Light retail store is still there, I hope!
Well preserved... I could suggest Marshall, Michigan, which has lots of historic buildings and nothing really modern on Michigan Avenue. Worth the detour off I-69 or I-94.

Claude Ciancio I would disagree, I’ve been there multiple times and it’s amazing. Sure, it’s a little touristy but the food is very good and the location is breathtaking.
Natchitoches listed as pronounced nak-e-tesh on most of the internet but most people that live there say nak-e-dish. They both sound close. Lived there a few years. Front street is cobblestone. Natchitoches Christmas Festival is great!
