Grew up in Bellingham my whole life before moving south. Love visiting but hate to see how it's gone down-hill. Still beautiful but downtown is a mess and the politics have gotten more heated since COVID. Would love to live there but honestly miss the glory days. The college has taken over and Bham seems to pretty much live to cater to the students. While there are still families moving there, it feels more like something people come to consume than revitalize. Sad day.
Regarding North Bend hikes, Rattlesnake Ledge is a good and much easier hike, very scenic. Just be careful at the top-people fall and die trying to take good photos or corral their dogs. Also, the view atop Mt. Si is leagues better than the video clip (not sure what that’s from, but definitely not Mt. Si). I climbed Haystack rock on top of Mt. Si a few times, and the views are even better, but I don’t really recommend it, as it’s technically a scramble (basic rock climbing). I did see a mountain goat up there though, so I can vouch for that.
If you're going to do a video on a state, please get the pronunciations correct. (props for pronouncing Sequim correctly) It's Bell - ing - HAM. North Bend are two words. Winthrop - the route shown is the North Cascades Highway. It's a beautiful and geologically diverse area. It's closed in the winter and doesn't generally open until the middle or late spring. Going to the San Juans (four are served by WA state ferries) in a car on the Ferry - ferry reservations are *strongly recommended* - ESPECIALLY when leaving the islands.
How did Gig Harbor get on that list. I would rather go to Anacortes. They have better window shopping.even Coupeville would be preferred over Gig Harbor.
Washington! We have 2 mountain ranges Olympics & Cascades, Ocean front, The Sound, Islands, The mighty Columbia River, Hoh Rain Forest, dry desert plains, The Dry coulee is 7 times bigger than Niagra Falls and Volcanos! The eco diversity is simply unparalleled.
I have been to most of these places but I'll be honest I have never heard of La Conner or Winthrop. Also, no offense but North Bend is not a tourist destination. It's a nice, quiet town but I would not recommend it as a tourist spot like Sequim during Lavender season or Friday Harbor.
I can't even count the mispronunciations in this video. I don't know if it's bot generated or just someone without knowledge but trying to be an expert. Yes, Im local and have been to each of these locations.
Oh my gosh. As a Washingtonian, this has to be the WORST video about the cities in my state, and its insulting to those of us who live here. First off, you see the Washington Monument before the video even really gets going and it goes downhill from there. And then this inane trouser burp of a video ends with a shot of the US Capitol? At least they got Sequim and Dungeness right. Also -- if you see a puffin in Port Townsend , send me a photo and I'll send you a picture of the Sasquatch wandering around in my backyard. 2. Bellevue
3. Chelan
Great video but what happened to Port Angeles Washington as I feel it needs to be included in the list also as it should have bern the top 20 instead of the top best places in Washington
❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😊BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL smile happy Happy Happy place I just got back what exciting experience. 😊
Glad you had a good experience :)
You forgot the Bainbridge Island ‼️❤️❤️❤️
All western WA. Did you even consider eastern Wa? Liberty Lake maybe?
If u live at washington you HAVE TO go to leavenworth some time
Mt Si in the building!
Rarely see the northern lights in Bellingham…they might be there but cloud cover means you rarely see northern lights in Bellingham
Mount "Rain-year"? Seeing mountain goats on Mt. Si? Northern lights in B-ham? My god. Why didn't you guys speak to locals when you wrote this content?
Bainbridge Island
You didn't include Vancouver right there on the waterfront of Columbia river. It's a beautiful place.
Nice video 😅😮😢😢🎉🎉😊
fyi... in the segment on Port Townsend, it says "miles of beaches". I'm not aware of a single beach there. Have you actually been there?
If you're going to do a video on a state, please get the pronunciations correct. (props for pronouncing Sequim correctly)
It's Bell - ing - HAM.
You can't see MT Rainier from North Bend except maybe from the summit of Mt Si.
Go to otring you'll see it
Kids and I love leavenworth
A tourist trap town now. Back in the 60's it was a great little place.
I've seen them in Arlington. The northern lights. But not real often.
How did Gig Harbor get on that list. I would rather go to Anacortes. They have better window shopping.even Coupeville would be preferred over Gig Harbor.
Right? When I lived in Bremerton, Gig Harbor was just “that town that has a Panda Express”. Nothing to write home about.
As soon as I saw the Washington Monument at the very beginning, I turned it off. What a joke
How could you leave out the tulip festival in LaConnor???!
It's Belling-HAM, Oak-uh-NOG-en, and Pauls-bo.
You are hilarious and I agree 😂😅
Commentator needs to learn to pronounce some of the names. Kind of butchered several of them.
Blame the AI that created the video.
Washington towns or Colorado towns, who’s prettier?
colorado
I loveeee my Washington State❤❤❤❤❤
2:22 If you're lucky you won't run into a cougar.
Fun Fact. The LaConner PD used LeCars in their police force back when they were a new model.
Don't forget Twin Peaks 😅
Oh my gosh. As a Washingtonian, this has to be the WORST video about the cities in my state, and its insulting to those of us who live here. First off, you see the Washington Monument before the video even really gets going and it goes downhill from there. Here is the list of words that are mispronounced. 1) Bellingham 2) North Bend (syllabic emphasis) 3) Poulsbo 4)Kitsap 5) Methow, 6) Okanogan 7) La Conner (syllabic emphasis), and the ultimate sin of 8) Rainier.... And then this inane trouser burp of a video ends with a shot of the US Capitol? At least they got Sequim and Dungeness right. Also -- if you see a puffin in Port Townsend , send me a photo and I'll send you a picture of the Sasquatch wandering around in my backyard. Someone said "hey Chat GPT, make me a video of the best towns in Washington to visit", and this fetid piece of (you know what) is testament to the fact the robots haven't won.
He misspelled Sequim as Squim
I agree! I noticed the misused shot of the Washington Monument and all of the annoyingly idiotic mispronunciations.
Gig Harbor stopped being "quaint" at least 45 years ago.
