No matter what your beliefs or ideologies are, nothing justifies taking homes, health and lives of innocent children who inevitably suffer in every military conflict. In February 24th 2022, a full-scale attack to take over all of Ukraine then began, and unfortunately, there is no end in sight to this horrible russian war crime...

Probably have commented this before but my favorite lyrical part is "is it a mermaid singing? no, it's a siren screaming!". So cool to make a distinction between a mermaid and a siren when they're both used as a synonym but then the word siren means something else.

Jinjer is from the area of eastern Ukraine that has been suffering from the war since 2014. Horlivka, an industrial city of Donetsk region, is getting devastated from people, factories and schools due to war. Horlivka used to have a respectful institute of foreign languages and was also considered as a students' city. Many Ukrainian rock bands were originating from there. If you ask Jinjer where they are coming from, they will tell you they from Donbas, but now they live in Kiev. That war has taken and broken many people's lives and fates. I am from Donetsk region too. I saw what was happening in 2014 with my own eyes and I believe they did too. What was happening is people looking for a shelter after another mortar attack of 120 millimeter callibre mine. In Zugres it was 21 people at once, most children; dead; after bombing, at the river coast so called by locals as Kids ' Beach. I believe it was a mortar fire attack. And I know who did this... But I'm here not for politics. I'm here to praise their talent. Jinjer are TRUE.

Jinjer totally changed my way of listening to music. Normally it's like my favorite songs or a full album. With Jinjer, i listen to each and every track dozens of time to fully hear and understand what's going on and even after hearing a song dozens of times i still find more details, more insane drum, guitar or bass work and Tati is not from this world. I'm so sad that it took me sooo long to find this band (i'm 54 btw).
Hope that this new times bring peace and rebuild for all of those who prevailed and survived. Stay strong!

@@EvilBonsai Its kind of a double entendre b/c a siren is also similar to a mermaid in mythology. The mermaid could be considered good b/c they were said to help sailors in need. A siren could be considered bad b/c they lure sailors in with their singing and cause them to shipwreck themselves on the shores. She's equating the air raid siren with the foreboding singing of a nautical siren. She's so good at writing meaningful lyrics.

I love this mix of violently harsh vocals and softness. It charms you into submission before gouging your eyes open again. I have loved this band since they first broke onto the musical scene. So much raw power, like a tea kettle exploding.
What an effective portrayal of the horrors of war, the desperate attempts at making life seem normal in the midst of the chaos of war, and the desperation of just wanting it all to be back to a state of normal, to be given your home back to you. Grade A stuff Jinjer and all the artists and directors who put this together. I liked the song while listening to Macro, but I love it now. The imagery adds so much more depth to an already meaningful song.

Vocals are absolutely lowered on all their records, a simple check vs. their live shows says more than any argument. That's why I can't ever get into this band, they don't want to be honest about it and of course die-hard fans will back them up because of their inherit bias. Again, don't take my word for it, the proof is all over YT. I much prefer Angela Gossow, Alissa White-Gluz or any number of others who can sing and scream and don't feel the need to mislead their fans about their ability. the only human being I ever heard capable of this range was Mike Patton from Mr. Bungle/Faith No More.
Also should point out that just because a band releases a video called "live in the studio" or whatever it doesn't mean anything. Back in the 70's the first "live" Kiss album was recorded in a studio and presented to fans as live. No reason to think in our modern age that process has gotten any harder.
