  • A verse-by-verse study of Mosiah 11-17, which recounts the wickedness of King Noah and the message and martyrdom of Abinadi. In this lesson we examine the second generation of Hansen's Law, King Benjamin and King Noah as literary foils, categories of wickedness, willful ignorance of God and His prophets, the difference between the moral law and the ceremonial law, and two opposing ways to narrow the gap between belief and behavior. Part 1 of a 2-part series to accompany your weekly Come Follow Me study of the Book of Mormon.

    This lesson just paralyzed me. Add therapist to your resume. I’ve literally prayed and fasted my entire life for God to reveal to me why people behave the way they do, and in this lesson, the explanation of the Grace Gap was the answer. It should be published as a book and in every home library. 🤯 I will be forever indebted.

    Brother Jared, thank you for sharing your spiritual gift of bringing the scriptures to our daily lives. Your personal experiences really bring me to the here and now. The hand of the Lord is active, forever reaching out to all of us. Your teachings allow His spirit to be present, whereby directing the things you say. Being close to the Savior is the most important relationship to me.

      Thank you. I was definitely an "open your mouth and it shall be filled" experience as a missionary. So all credit to the Spirit for supplying the lesson that was needed at the time. Thanks for watching!

    As you were talking about this I thought of king Saul and Samuel. When king Saul did not follow the commandments with king Agag and Samuel said obedience is better than sacrifice. Good Lesson today.

    I’m wondering (because abinidi seems to smart to slip up) if the disguise was simply for the purpose of getting back into the city , and then it served its purpose and he revealed who he was :)

    Abinadi most likely wore a disguise just so he can get to whatever spot he had chosen then removed the disguise

    Why do we use God interchangeably with Jesus Christ the son? I always think of God as the father and Jesus Christ as the son. Thanks for any response

      Everything from Chapter 9 through to Chapter 22 is the record of Zeniff. You will find a heading at the beginning of Chapter 9 that explains it. Thanks for asking the question. I'm glad I could answer it for you. ❤

    Abinadai was not the first prophet to show up "in disguise"!! In 1 Kings 20:38 there is another prophet who "disguised himself with ashes upon his face".

    • @Unshaken
      @Unshaken  4 роки тому +3

      Excellent point! In some ways, prophets are always "in disguise" to those without eyes to see their identity as a true messenger of God.
