As Black Americans, having lived in America we are very familiar with protesting. In times past even up til now, here recently. Nonetheless, being on foreign soil, not fully aware of the political systems, we are not certain as to how demonstrations are welcome and met. Well, we were able to get a front row seat here in Nairobi over the past several weeks and we have really been impacted in many different ways. Take a listen as we share with you our individual thoughts and feelings regarding this matter.

Great conversation. Feel at home, family. The protests are against a corrupt political elite (something all countries know about) and are focused on attaining good governance, justice and transparency that we want to benefit all Kenyans, residents and visitors. Kenyans are friendly and welcoming people. I am really proud of Kenyan Gen Zs and millennials for standing on business. They united beyond tribe, race, class and religion. The unity is the highest form of love.

I currently live in the USA a naturalized citizen but my background is actually British Jamaican heading to the motherland, Kenya to be specific this year. Hope I can bump into them. Great couple and all the best in their adventure of exploration because this is what life is all about. The greatest form of education is to travel.

Greetings Residential Tourists, “The Muhammad’s”! Another amazing conversation! I am excited that Black Americans are adjusting to the geopolitical climate there in Nairobi Kenya. Kenya in and of itself is quite a conundrum given what I call the ongoing geopolitical -economic situation that is guaranteed to continue giving the EHM situation there.
The Black American situation in the US of I is totally different and cannot be compared to the EHM geopolitical - economic situation in Kenya in my opinion.
I do believe that black Americans expats can take care of themselves despite the difficult challenges ahead. There will be positive change in Kenya if all the people stand together as one unit against ongoing disparities in the country. Thanks for sharing…

So true, when you are a forgnier to country you don't know how the locals are impacted. I feel like some immigrants who come to America don't care. They are here to benefit. But it's hard when they see your country as the source of their poverty. It's so complicated

You are Africans who were living in America and being here you are learning the ropes of how to protect what belongs to you even to death. What might be happening to some folk is they have been cooking in this terrible system for so long they are starting to become insensitive to it. England Canada too. Almost lost my life in England my first day of university 1992 because three white boys called the the cops that I had a gun on a train. Reading my my book and then accused this way. Then this white guy thought I had a tail in my trousers at university because his mom told him all blacks had tails. All these reasons why I am going to Kenya. Went there and loved it. We here in Kenya hail from different cultural ethnicities...We got differences but not that much of a problem unless amplified by stupid politicians...This is no different from your American politics between Democrats & Republicans....As for racism, America is just on its own level & can't compare with our ethnic divisions..We are far more cohesive than you're in America.

Mr. Muhammad says in this video that 'the protests are over," but online media is reporting that they never ended and are still going on now. Please confirm, ARE the protest actually over now???? Are we hearing and seeing wrong information online of current protests still happening now? And have Kenyans really achieved what they were seeking with the protests if the protests are still going on, even after Ruto publicly said he would not sign the tax bill? What change has actually happened yet as a result of the protests? What are outsiders missing here? What's the truth?

@@TheResidentialTourists Okay, but I saw a Kenyan comment elsewhere that stated despite Ruto publicly announcing he would not sign the tax bill, it meant nothing because in 21 days their parliament will put it in action, based on how laws work there. Now Ruto is blaming an outside American company for sponsoring the protests. So, I'm just a little confused with different accounts being reported. Thanks for sharing what you know.

We know that you got to pay property taxes every year and you can never own your own home. Once this bill is pushed out of the way. This couple can become citizens and own their own home. Kenya the government of Kenya is trying to make Kenya like the United States. Nobody wants to pay property taxes every month or every year. We don't want what you guys have.
