Honestly, this is the real way to train, I did circus 20 years ago and he is taking the real progressions and warm ups from yoga and contortion that I forgot but am remembering again. So good to see this quality on UA-cam and respect for the body and the practice.
I remember this video from a year back, when I couldn't do wheel pose at all. Now I am trying to deepen my backbend, and this is such a great routine for just that. Not only can I do a wheel now, I can hold it for over a minute! 😎

The preceding poses opened the body and allowed me to perform the back bend with a greater ease. I have never practiced yoga. I don't even know the names of the exercises. It was a challenging workout and one that I will introduce to my back bend routine. Thanks. I learned something today.

I’m not a fan of backbend but after I followed this video I feel like I have hope for my back flexibility and I got the best backbend ever for my first try with the right technique plus mindfully focusing on each part of the body. Thank you so much for this wonderful video. I will follow along and can’t wait to see the better result !
oppositely to 99% of other trainers, your seconds last more than an actual second, while theirs last half of it. this is a good sign of real competence in the illustration of an exercise :-)

Do you have any advice or tricks for getting into the laying bow position? I can hold the position just fine but getting into it is super awkward because I'm not flexible enough to just grab my legs with my hands behind my back.

In the wheel pose my wrists hurt and I bend my knees too much when I come up, my arms aren't as straight as yours, they are at an angle of 45°. What can I work on to improve this?

Great timing! I just started working on bridging to wheel and I'm not quite there yet. Glad to see more complementary exercises to help me get further along.
In wheel pose I can't get into full extension, I can hold myself up with my arms bent, but I can't push myself self up into fully extending my arms. Is this a weakness in certain muscles, or an inflexibility in my shoulders?
It must have something to do with forward neck posture, tight upper back and overall spine compression. I had same issue, but after few moths of daily stretching it returned to normal
What if I cant get my shoulders over my hands in the Full Backbend? My hands are out front even when I try to push back.???? Any advice? Thank you, Randy Drace

Try chin presses, for good posture and healthy spine/neck

I have a giraffe neck, but it doesn't help my flexibility, lol
I finally found the reason I can't do a full wheel pose. It's really difficult to push up, not sure if I should pushing more from my arms or my legs?
