    Hi, your work is amazing! I have a question - how did you manage to get such a vibrant white color on the doll? Every time I use white acrylic paint, it ends up looking gray and not as bright and white as yours. Any tips or techniques you can share? Thanks in advance! 😊

    • @DonahoeFilms
      @DonahoeFilms  2 роки тому +1

      You could! A lot of people use pottery clay. that stuff has to be set in the oven though, so it can get a little dicey. I've jus t found that the apoxie sculpt was easier because it sets on its own.

    • @DonahoeFilms

      The primer just helps the paint stick to the Funko pop. It also makes the paint a little brighter in my opinion, but if it's working for you keep doing your thing!

    So, I have a few questions....
    Where did you get the Epoxy? I've been looking around and can't find that brand ANYWHERE.
    Also, is Folk Art a decent paint brand? An employee at Michaels suggested it to me, and I took that suggestion.
    I'm trying to get into custom figures and the like in general, and I figured custom Funkos would be a good a good start. Since the designs are more simplified, and they's mostly cheap.... Unless said Pop is out of print and then well.... Yeah....
    Hopefully, this will go decently. I picked up a Funko that resembles an OC of mine. So, it won't take as much painting, since the hair, and skintone are already what I want.
    Oh, one more question. Is there some kind of brush on primer? If not.... I'll have to figure out a way to coat the eyes with primer with masking tape or something.

    • @DonahoeFilms
      @DonahoeFilms  7 місяців тому +1

      The epoxy is from Amazon. Here’s a link! Aves Apoxie Sculpt Clay - a.co/d/iXFq0Lv
      Folk Art is a solid paint brand, I’ve used a lot of their paint for projects like this.
      They do make paint on primer, here’s a link to some on Amazon!

    why do you need a piece of epoxi from each jar? Can't you use a piece (or 2) from just one jar?

    • @DonahoeFilms
      @DonahoeFilms  Рік тому

      You need one piece from each jar because it’s actually a 2 part chemical reaction. Mixing the 2 parts together is what makes the apoxie harden, if you only use one jar then it will never harden.

      I use a spray-on primer before painting and I haven't had an issue. Also, make sure you are buying nice paints. something in the $2-$4 per color range. Those 80 cent paints don't work very well in my experience.
